So i have no PC to do digital art here in Stavanger so I joined in on Inktober, a 30 day challenge on Instagram.

If you'd like to see the stuff I'm doing please have a look at my instagram page @shdn_studios.

Its all been Malazan themed, these last few weeks I'm trying to line up to the challenge topics hosted on Jake Parkers page(the founder of the challenge). I am lagging behind because I'm busy with other stuff like job hunts and looking after my kid but so far I'm enjoying the pressure. Some great stuffs popped up id never have tried on a PC. Will maybe post em up later in the year when I'm better setup.

Coltaines been posting em up on the wiki I think? Anyways whichever you browse please have a look let me know what you like and what else I can try.

I kept hanging up on that moment at the end of the Crippled God, you know the one.

That passage said so much in so little words!

So I tried to sketch the feeling.

Goosebumps everytime!

Been working on this since before the advent calendar.

It was a request from Egwene so I guess you have her to thank. ;)

Awesome! Glad it worked and yes it's Gardens of the moon. B)

What do you guys think I should try next? Open request for ideas here.

I like the magic theme so anything Warren related would be perfect.

Duiker sitting at a table at K'rul's Bar, about to relate a very, very sad tale to Baruk, Kruppe, Murillio, Coll and the leftover Bridgeburners at two tables in the "massive main chamber". Bridgeburners closer to the hearth.

OR

Same scene, but just after he finished.

No magic or action, sorry. Just a scene that sticks in my head.

I like that idea. B)

Something warren related I had in my head would be Pearl and Lostara travelling through the Imperial Warren. Maybe finding Korabas. Or one of QB visits at the Spar of the Andii

Dolmen, I am still very much in love with your style B) I especially like the sense of space and... 3D-like effect.

Thank you Puck, its slowly getting easier to produce art. I revised my process and all the inkwork made me less shy with sketching my ideas out without outside influence. I have a better idea of what looks ‘interesting’ and I built more confidence with what I want to show.

The 3D effect is pulled off with a play of focusing layers, decent composition and a better understanding of lighting.

Also practice. I’m doing alot of studies. Hope to take some live art classes to improve my sketch work which in term makes it easier to paint up ideas.

The sheer scope of ideas here is incredible. Always a good reminder of why I love the series. I will sketch out each suggestion and post for feedback. I’m doing a challenge on Artstation so i’m in the right mindset for initial sketches. Hopefully I can shell out something great.

What about something that was awesome but probably looked low key to an outsider.

Something like QB tweaking the ascendants balls (many of them) . When he pulls on hoods power to make him show himself, or when he cuts the string and escapes ST again, something like that

The problem is Malaz has tons of those and I often forget them because bigger things happen and they get overshadowed.

In other words, I need direct quotes for that sort of thing because my memory of them is shaky at best...

I have been working on something else on top of a few of the suggestions here.

Now I landed on a bit of a weird description.

I decided to do something with the Crimson Guard, with one group of "Loyal" and another of group of "not so Loyal" Guardsmen.

I'm working on the Loyals. We have Blues, Iron Bars, Shimmer, Corlo and K'azz. I might sneak Smokey in aswell.

(BTW Thanks FB for the suggestions!)

Now here's the problem...Corlo is described as Round faced. that's all I can get from the Wiki. other than being a possible Zach Galifianakis look alike what is he? Is he talian? are the talian like the hengans, slightly asiatic facial features?

I need a little help here.
