And Tatts is right - 'relatively nearby' is one way of putting it. Almost the other side of our tiny island. Which is about £100 return, unfortunately.

Oh, I forgot to ask - there's only one expansion, right?

Saying this as player not mod. So whoever told me back in round 1 that running an interceptor into the GCDS and influencing other people's tier I ancient hexes was not a legal move was lying to me?

What do you mean by other people's? If they had allies' ships in them, you could have. If they had non-allies ships in them (which would be the case for everyone in round 1), no, you couldn't have.

I hope not, I told you to influence the GC but you couldn't.
I suppose you could have got an interceptor into the GC which would have died but whilst it was in there you could have influenced the other ancients, maybe. I don't no though because the GC has an enemy ship in.

In round 1 they wouldn't have had ships in them Khell, he is talking about the "ancients" hexes.

Heh, speaking of, Eclipse is on sale on Amazon UK - 45% off for the main game, 33% off for the expansion.
So this means that you will buy the game so you can be the next mod? Set this up, process people's moves, take a picture, Post the picture. Easy as pie. That and Tatts will have someone realatively nearby that he can have a game night with. I'm jealous.
Time is the same wherever you are but so different too. How about a 3 hour journey from me to Khell. I don't know the cost but say £100 return. Here it seems magnanimous but there it is a drop in the ocean. Am I right?
3 hours round trip or one-way? I thought you two lived closer to each other than that. If it is 3 hours round trip that is easily doable in a day. It takes me 2 hours round trip to visit the folks. One way, that is a weekend trip for sure. But the costs don't seem right. Are you also saying the trip costs you 100 pounds? Daily spot rate 1.6373 so 100 pounds would = $163.73. It costs you that much in fuel or ticket costs round trip for the visit? That is insane. the 4 hours round trip to pick the family up at the nearest airport after the Thanskgiving holiday worse case senario was two tanks of fuel which is a slight exageration came to 70 bucks so that comes to 42.75 pounds. It's not a drop in the ocean as you state but it does seem a whole lot more affordable.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

No because the GCDS pins all ships and to do the interceptor incluencing trick the ship can't be pinned.

Possibly a 5-6 hour drive. 2-3 hour train journey one way. Money is for the train. Fuel I am unsure because I haven't drove that type of distance yet. I have only been driving for a year.

Twelve, trains in the UK are super-expensive. Failing, over-congested, under-maintained network. Prices go up on average by about 12% every year (salaries on average this year went up 2% in comparison). If you book months in advance you might get good prices (by which I mean, reasonable prices), but most of the time you just don't plan that far ahead.
Car might be cheaper (not by much) but also takes far longer.

I distinctly recall reading an Eclipse forum entry a couple of weeks ago about Draco running an interceptor into the center on the first turn and influencing Tier I ancient occupied hexes.
But the rulebook seems to say that you can't influence hexes from a pinned ship. And the GCD ancient pins all ships?

There are a lot of misunderstandings regarding draco, the rulebook is right, you can't do that
Could he have put two interceptors into the center, thus not having an interceptor pinned. Then influence outwards or not?

I thought GC pins all, no matter how many ships in there? You can't get them out without a fight.

Yeah you guys definately don't live that close after all. I think The Dude lives in Seattle and that is a 5 hour car drive for me and Kurt Montanion lives in Northern California which is roughly the same driving distance from me in the other direction. And Vengy used to live within bicycling distance when we were kids but had to go move to Chicago so way too far away for a weekend trip that is for sure.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

This. You have to take out the GC defense because it pins all ships. But now that it's gone regular pinning rules apply.

So who are we waiting for now that Khell did an influencing action. I think D'rek researched and so did Tatts. Has Gnaw placed an action yet?
I think we all know what I want to do.
