Which ones, more specifically, do you want to know about? There have been some threads on this before.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I demand Telorast & Curdle plushies.

Use the search function.

I typed in the word "race" and limited the search to the GotM forum and got this:

I agree with Apt. Searching the forums is te way to go, this topic has popped up alot.

I find this to be really close to how erikson describes most races IMO:

needless to say Madrun is Epicly good at this whole characterizing races thing.

We had a talk about heights here:

http://forum.malazan...acter-sketches/

and here are FA I did but no idea if we have anything of an FA scaled properly against a human...

Among Malazans, Dal Honese are black/African featured. Quon Talians (the city not the continent) seem SE Asian to me. Li Hengese is Chinese or Korean, not sure, while Itko Kanese are more Japanese. Napan = blue skinned, I personally think of them as African featured but I don't think it's specified. Untans are white I think? Dunno about Cawnese. Seven Cities natives run from Middle-Eastern ethnicities to Northern Africa to Sub-Saharan. Korelri tend to be Indian subcontinent ethnicities. Native Kartoolians are tan (possibly Hispanic?), and Falarians (at least the red-headed ones) are Irishy/Scottishy. All of this is rough, because there's tons of cross-pollination going on, both in the Malazan world, and in terms of real-world influence.

Genebackin continent natives I'm less sure about. Darujhistan is cosmopolitan but seems to have possibly Mediterraneans, Turks, Persians in abundance? Others certainly could tell you the Gadrobi and Rhivi better than I can.

Non-humans: T'lan Imass are pre-historic humanoid skeletons. Barghast are semi-giants...they run bigger than humans in height and mass, but not too far, and they are woody/nutty brown colored I think. Toblakai are actual giants, and run around 7 feet tall with massive bulk. Tiste Andii also run tall and strong, but more lithe than the giants. Jet black skin, with angled facial features slightly different than humans.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

EDIT: my bad!

<snip>...Can imagine the Crimson Gaurd are something Greecian/European aswell? they all seem to have dark hair and Caucasian skin. I just get that sense from them. When I think of them I think of a very frustrated Rome.

But I totally forgot about the Crimson Guard, so good call on that, and I think you're generally correct. There are some imports though, like Blues is Napan.

Lol at Dolmen. Looks like he was working things out in his head and they found their way to the page.

I like to think of the Tiste Andii as as black (like onyx, not like african) skinned Tolkien-ish elves, if that helps.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

I thought the Crimson Guard (who are mentioned in GotM) were a mix of various ethnicities from the Quon Tali continent?

T'lan Imass are pre-historic individual like pumpkin heads or scarecrows. Barghast are semi-giants...they run larger than people in size and huge, but not too far, and they are woody/nutty brownish shaded I think. Toblakai are real leaders, and run around 7 ft. high with large large. Tiste Andii also run high and powerful, but more lithe than the leaders. Jet dark epidermis, with tilted face functions a little bit different than human
