Up until the last few eps people have been discussing the story but spoilering any 'reveals'. S'ok, I should have kept out entirely I guess.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The thread title DOES say SLEEPY HOLLOW !!!SPOILERS - DISCUSSION THREAD SPOILERS to latest ep SPOILERS Trav.

Bummer you got spoilered and yes we tended to throw some blocks in now and then immediately after an ep but geez it's right there on the label...

I know, it's common sense to keep out if you don't want spoilers!

But in my defence, I'm viewing it on IP Mobile, which shows nothing of the 'spoilers to the latest episode..' just SLEEPY HOLLOW. Also everyone's 'latest episodes' are slightly out of synch depending on which continent you happen to be on.

I only mentioned it because for several pages and episodes everyone seemed to be spoilering plot points; then they decided not to bother any more. I was just kicking myself really for not knowing better.

Damn got the regular lag behind everyone else for UK release. Will just have to wait, and avoid the thread!

Great opener episode. Nice to get things properly moving again after the season finale last year put everybody in seperate traps/places.

My wife nearly peed her pants laughing at Ichabod recording his video while in the grave and then having it not record at all. LOL

Ich vs technology is always pure fun. His expression when he drove the ambulance thru the wall was priceless. And then... reverse???

John Noble continues to chew scenery. he's a bit less over the top here, but sells it so well.

Abbie was overdoing her facial expressions abit, but otherwise great performances all around. Well, ok, except for Katrina who seems doomed to perpetual victimville.
Headless/topless was damn funny.

So glad this show is back!

So, last night's ep...

SPOILERS

....

GOOD

The Kinder/Franklinstein's Monster was good fun.
We saw the Horseman of War in action.
Henry chewing scenery.
Irving's back. And Henry's his lawyer! In blood!!!
I hope we see the Kindred again, and i hope its face grows back so that it has the Horseman's Head for real, because that would be awesomely twisted.
Crane reading Lovecraft for the incantation.

BAD
Is it just me or is Abbie phoning it in? Her line to Jenny about getting arrested for the team was so flat i was insulted for her.
The new police capt is annoying. Her attitude towards Irving is ... i dunno, unprofessional. Hey, have some electroshock! At this point i'm hoping she turns out to be a villain, as opposed to just an asshole.
Jenny getting caught with the guns was just silly. Also pointless, because at the end, they had guns. So what was the point of that?
The whole rescue effort just felt flat... like they had to do an ep with them trying to rescue Katrina but no one really cared.
The Kindred v Death and War fight wasn't bad, but not quite as insane as i wanted it to be.
And again, when Abbie went in with the shotgun, she looked bored.

Yeah, I can see those cons. I'll also speculate that the new Captain is bad. She's WAY too much of a straight up assclown to be above board. She's also really antagonistic to Irving, and that makes me think "demon". We shall see.

I didn't see anything that made me think Abbie was phoning it in though.

I'm going to asssume the gun bag getting Jenny caught has a purpose we don't know yet, like they neeed her to be there in future?

I'm midway through the season 2 premiere after catching up on the episodes I missed while I was in Nepal.

Holy hell, I did not see the Horseman of War thing coming at all.

I don't like how the show is starting to lead its viewers by the nose through the mysteries. And that Ichabod is using his eidetic memory to magically pinpoint exactly the right phrase spoken 10 years ago (his time) in about 20 seconds each time the unraveling mystery needs another step accomplished. That kind of search algorithm would have Google handing over all its money to him for replication...

This show has firmly doubled down on the nuttiness, but they are running up against the limitations of already established characters providing plot motivations over and over again.

That being said, Jeremy/Henry is as compelling a bad guy as Billy Bob Thornton in the Fargo show. Some people just know how to be great bad guys.

I am also very pleased that the show is committed to being ethnically diverse and that it's paying off.

S2 Ep3 was solid. Less overacting, ample nuttiness, nice touch with the thirty pieces of silver.
Reyes is annoying me. She oversells every scene.
Everyone else's performances were solid this ep.
I'm a bit on the fence about the Horley as an addition to the cast, but he had enough to keep me from hating him.
John Noble is clearly having a blast and it's such a pleasure to see him playing evil.

My theory on the Reyes arrival thing is that Abbie, Jenny and Reyes are mostly the ones we see together, so the director/directors has/have tried to make them all look tall when together - with Reyes being the main target of this practice.

That subtly leads to an annoyance thing building up because all three women are short and we know this - especially when one or more are next to Crane.

On House of Cards (where I first saw Sakina Jeffrey), they make no bones about her being short and it actually makes her look more like a heavyweight-by-dint-of-personality than Sleepy Hollow does.

She turned in a solid performance in HOUSE OF CARDS, no doubt. I hope they have more in mind for her in HOLLOW than the by-the-numbers stuff so far.
We've already done the 'skeptical overly controlling police chief' thing once with Irving.

That was a great ep, and of course my brain immediately went to Dresden & the Denarian Coins. LOL

I was actively telling myself that I shouldn't be disappointed if they don't do as good a job as the Denarians from Butcher's series.

I watch this show with a mate who has also read Dresden, we both said at the end, 'well, that just wasn't as good!' But other than that, a solid enough episode.
