He was guardable and killable once he moved to a castle. He was an auxillary character out of reach until he took over for a side. He couldn't do anything to town either until then if I recall.

He was killable at ANY time actually. Either Mockra or Tellan could kill him by mistake (they didnt' know who he was). And, despite guards failing on him, he was actually susceptible to being vigged as well. To be honest, I thought that a very likely sequence to this game would be scum coming into SH at the end and complaining that their backup died early because they were too weak. The role was basically a survivor role until another general died, and Lish couldn't have played the role more perfectly.
