As for other speculation, normally I'd poo-poo the idea that we are getting false CFs, but given that there appears to be differences in what PS is reporting for tiles and what people like Ultama have claimed their NA's revealed about their location, I raise it as being a higher possibility.

I'm not convinced there is an inconsistency here. As someone already pointed out, the earthcrafter ability to detect who is on their tile does not detect windcrafters. Was there anything raised about this that the earth-wind possibility couldn't explain?

The wind fury passive cancels out the earth fury passive. Makes sense once pointed out. doh.

So what could explain getting an out of range response for

Fire Furies

Active Action: You may target another player. That player will take attack power + X damage, no matter which tile they are on.

Order of resolution is as follows:

Special Movement Abilities > Find > Guard > Attack > Recruit > Fortifications > Infestation > Heal

Certain abilities will resolve outside this specific order of resolution, but this is a safe guideline for nearly all abilities available in this game.

The only explanations that I can think of for somebody being out of range from an attack that hits every tile are
  • They're not on any of the tiles.
  • They are on tiles that are only connected via blue lines. Shuar or Narash
  • They have a "certain abilities" ability.

Seeing as how I missed the earth and wind cancellation, am I missing another obvious explanation?

Potentially a generic response to a Water passive having been activated on the target?

I understand that my actions are suspicious and don't see where i say it isn't. I was just saying it was interesting how both you and I have increased our post counts after the death of a vord, even though mine was a coincidence, and according to you, yours was too, and that you brought up my change. I haven't read the books either, and am playing with just OP info as well.

I'm fine with people putting pressure on me and acting on their suspicions, I just want to bring up other angles so we can see all possibilities.

What bothers me most about you is the Barghast deflections. You did it last week as well.

Completely ruling Barghast out because he only has 3 posts?? Really?? There's a reason i coined the acronym HOIFOY.

I asked that question phrased in such a way that it made the answer about as unambiguous as PS answers will ever be.

On an unrelated note: Fener, where did you say you started the game? I know you said but I would rather not have to go dig it out. :p

I.e. Venge resolved, cocked up, gave you the response for a non-Fury attack and won't admit it?

Ok. I don't recall anyone earlier saying they had missed with a fireball, though. Are you saying now that you did? What night was this?

The two barghast defences you see where different.

1st was because it felt like a deflection

The second wasnt a defence, just a statement that i fekt he wasnt much of a threat, though I understand why you might find these together to be suspicious, and why the second one you find suspicious on its own.

Butcwhy didnt you mention the earlier one when I first posted it?

Nope. It wasn't Veng. And I asked for and received a confirmation that the response was correct.

(For anyone who cares, PS is paying attention to the game. And it definitely isn't Veng.)

Curious then. I know the blue line causes an issue for one of my abilities, the burn croach one - hence me not clearing up any on Shuar, I actually couldn't. Burn is fire aspected so it may be that Fire Fury attacks are blocked by it too.

And yeah I guessed it wasn't Venge when I didn't immediately get told I was posting in pictures for the rest of the night :p

I think that that would be a reasonable deduction based on my last few posts.

I received a politely worded mild rebuke that was grammatically correct.

Because that one was day 2. Barghast was not as blatantly abusing modkill limits then.

MOD NOTE: YOU WILL ALWAYS BE TOLD IF THE TARGET OF YOUR DAWN ACTION IS WITHIN RANGE, BUT THAT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN YOUR ACTION HAS HAD ANY EFFECT, AKA, YOU WILL NOT BE TOLD IF YOUR ACTION WAS SUCCESSFUL.

I hadn't seen this or didn't pay it much attention last week. It may be germane to my current inquiry. Or not.

Ok, I retract my suspicion of inconsistency as the explanation seems reasonable. We're just good at hunting Vord I guess!

Korbas' explanation, however, doesn't convince.

It just occurred to me that that is worded in such a way as to imply that I have dissembled or lied about previous actions.

First, fuck off.

Second, I don't believe that I've said anything that would indicate any action I may or may not have done. Other than asking about a passive ability.

Third, if you want information you might want to try providing some. And I don't mean in general. If you wish info from me, make it worth my while.

Fourth, uhm. Don't actually have a fourth. Other than fuck off.

I fear that is going to turn out to be wrong. I hope not, but in this case odds and Occam say that the simplest answer is not the correct one.
