The Xbone needs more exclusive.

I could have gotten one for a steal this week. Still turned it down because I would have been buying a console for Halo 5. Every other exclusive is available on PC. I'm glad Microsoft made that choice because I now own a PC but it seems to have killed off their xbox brand in a large way. I just wish they would release halo 5 for PC as well and call it a day,

Please tell me America isn't so primitive that the bank doesn't own a coin counting machine for the customers to use?

It would not surprise me.

But there is a middle ground here - they've got old and or overused coin machines that don't work too well, especially with the stupid pennies. Banks are often averse to spending money on actual useful things at the branch level.

I have no idea what one of those monsters cost but compared to the bother of having a bank teller count a thousand coins of random denominations probably makes the purchase of a coin counter make sense.

Hell, I had a plastic coin counter I could play with 30 god damn years ago.

Anyway to get the conversation back on track.

I feel like there's been incredibly little fanfare surrounding the release of the X-Box 1, It is more or less a soft launched next generation of hardware. It is pretty significant. But of course Microsoft doesn't really have a game line up to push it.

That's the thing. There really is no compelling reason to buy it unless there is an exclusive title that you absolutely must play. For me personally, none of the exclusives out now are enough for me to purchase it. And I don't recall any upcoming exclusives that were announced at E3 (or at any other time) for future release that would compel me to buy it.

From what I recall from E3, they really pushed the 4K beauty that you get with the Xbox One X and that was about it. I mean, I guess it's supposed to be technically superior to the original XBone and PS4? But they didn't really show that at E3, other then the 4K, which requires you to purchase a 4K monitor/television. Which to me is a waste unless you have the money because only games and movies you buy in that format will be experienced at that resolution.

I've not heard if cable providers will eventually move towards providing programming in the 4K/Ultra HD format, but as it stands right now, they don't (at least my provider doesn't).

You watch a lot of TV. Does the X-box have a lot of benefits as a media center? Half of those abilities don't work in Denmark I think.

Remind me why you bought an xbox when you already have a ps4?

Just curious.. was it for a game or specific feature?
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Basically a subscription service that gives you access to a bunch of games to download and play as long as you have Game Pass. You can browse the included games in the Store to see if it's worth it (it isn't, for me). I believe they get updated/maybe rotated from time to time too.

Oh, don't forget that with xbox live gold you get free games each month - you've just got to claim them to make sure you can get them later (same as PSN free games).

It's a collection of Xbox one and Xbox 360 games that you can download and play for free, as long as you are a games pass member. It's a relatively new program so there aren't a ton of games to choose from (they advertise 100, I think), but there are some good ones in there. Think a month of games pass is free with your Xbox one x.

I'm not planning on paying full price for that thing when I have a perfectly functional One still lying around! I'll wait for the prices to drop a bit. I will get it eventually though because I do own a 4k TV and I'd like to experience some of the bigger, newer games with less lag and better draw distances (hopefully).

Currently I've got the full raft of consoles, One, PS4, Switch, and also a Vita and 3DS that I've had for ages.

I've decided my PS4 has been under-utilised so I'm trying to get more games for that (Persona 5, the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, and AC: Origins are my most recent purchases for it).
I still have no Internet at home so my main Xbox game is the good old Wolfenstein: The New Order until I can play Destiny 2.
Switch is still just Zelda at the moment though I'll get the new Mario for it eventually.

So, those, some other older games, and lots of Pokemon on the 3DS have been my main games lately.

Not that I'm actually playing that much at the moment. XD

As long as you have a game pass sub you will be able to play it. Unless they cycle games off (like Stalker said, it's new, so I'm not sure).

I shipped the one x to my parents since I took some time off for Thanksgiving. Hooked it up to a 75 inch 4k HDR TV with surround sound - it's incredible. Won't be quite as nice with my home setup, but still good. I really debated not getting it for the same reason as you, but I figured that I could give my 4k enabled One S to my brother instead. Win win. Sadly, I don't have enough time to play these days either.

Sounds like despite not having internet, you have a lot of great offline games to play when you have time. Did you think the destiny 1 improved with post release content? I know we played together initially but I dropped it immediately as there was no end game content.

I just finished a month of games pass and let my subscription end. When the subscription ends you lose access to the game. If you buy a license for the game while subscribed to games pass, you get a discounted price. My problem with it was the selection - I'd already played many of the games and the rest didn't appeal to me. I did play and enjoy Recore and Dead Rising 3 though.

I'd encourage you to check out EA Access instead. Same idea but better games.

To be honest, Destiny 1 hit its peak with the Taken King expansion. It still had a grindy, repetitive and pointless end game (Raid, Trials, being basically the only end game content and there was no point if you were max Light level and didn't care for the gear). Basically what kept me playing was my best friend and the fact that the game was so damn smooth and satisfying to just roll around and kill things.
I don't think Destiny 2 has solved the problems of Destiny 1 on the balance of things, but it's more of the same with some improvements so we'll probably get another thousand hours out of it. You know, once I get my freaking Internet connection back! Grrrrr.

75 inch 4k with surround sound sounds excellent. I've got a 50? 55? Inch 4k TV with surround which is great for gaming (my computer monitor is 32 inches and quad HD, lol... I have spent far too much money on electronics since I moved to Australia!), lol.

I expect the price will drop after Christmas so I figured I would wait for that before seriously considering buying the X. Do you feel like it offers a noticeable performance boost over the standard One? Or just prettier graphics?

Just set it up yesterday, so I need a little more time to play / test performance. Noticeably clearer graphics, which is to be expected. Load time seems a little faster and the increased draw distance is nice (I'd like to see that with AC Origins).

I'd say if you have the setup to run it and can get a good price, do it. Don't think you need to spend $500 (or whatever your price would be) immediately if you still have a functioning Xbox one. Which sounds like your thoughts anyway - good plan.

I really should focus on upgrading to 50+ 4K with this thing. I doubt I will ever get a Pro as I’m not crazy about having 2 4’s.

I’m still not a fan of this interface. PS is much better. I also can’t figure out still why this beast didn’t come with a cheap mic.

I'm not a huge fan of the Xbox dashboard (or the constant changes to it), but the PS interface is just as bad, and actively looks worse. It's like a relic of a bygone era (which it basically is, given it's the same as the PS3 interface, lol).
The biggest thing xbox needs to do is make games more front and centre/much easier to get to games and apps. But that's a byproduct of them wanting to be a home entertainment system instead of a games console, sadly.
But both of them need to go back to the drawing board on interface design.

But you definitely need to get a bigger screen that is 4k if you've got a One X. Damn. XD

@Stalker - yup, that's pretty much where I'm at. (It's $750 AUD believe D:)

I go months without playing Xbox one, but then I love going back to it. Witcher 3 took most of my 2017, and i'll still go back to that game. Recently been playing Star Wars Battlefield to get the achievements. Afterwards going to play Battlefield 1 for those achievements, and the next game I am buying is going to be Player Unknown Battlegrounds. Lots of games on Xbox One, and cause I got gold I get free games, so lots to keep me busy.

If you're still on and the codes are valid, it will just add time to the end of your subscription. They don't cheat you of any days. That said, if the 14 day code is another trial, it probably won't work for the same profile/account.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
