The tech also gives me a fighting chance if I ever have to face improved hull based ships when I attack Tatts through his back door.

Also if you'd placed that cube on 311 on any other tile you'd be sitting pretty.

I was going to influence the hex I win when beating dreks cruiser. Please tell me if you think that is wrong, originally I was going to pass and bankrupt material hex?

You have roughly 20% odds of not taking that hex, the influence doesn't really give you much except less hexes. I've not done the maths but can't you do exactly the same by just bankrupting both those hexes?

Also by going first you can influence dreks hex before anyone is in a position to fight you for it.

But by doing so you might miss out on good research...

i.e. you might want something and be forced to choose between influencing that hex and doing research, which gives D'rek a chance to just re-influence it.

Seems like a better deal production-wise to try for the hex with the orbital, really.

Basically my plan was to influence dreks hex instead of the two I had. I don't lose an artifact although there is a slim chance.

Yer fine. If you're trying to weaken D'rek to further your cause, you'll do a better job of it by capturing a system of hers than you will by spreading your inf discs across uncontested system that you can re-capture later.

CF map corrections that I noticed. My materials need to be 2 not 8, Solid has two normal actions so you need to move another disk from his track to research, Khell has four actions so he needs an influence disk moved from his track to the upgrade action. Thought you might like to know.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Somebody is about to have a really bad day. SS you may not have noticed but Tapper has antimatter cannons, positron computers, and ion missiles. And none of it is on his Starbase blueprint. Posted Image

Upgrade - Add gauss shield over hull on orbital.

He can easily remedy this by grabbing plasma missiles next go. Even if tapper attacks this go, upgrading with fusion drives will keep him safe.

Curious as to why you're going w shields Morgoth? In every scenario I ran the hull was a better component.

Because if he has one ship without shields, any time d'rek rolls a 5 she can hit the orbital. And once her plasma cannons come online I think not hitting is slightly more beneficial than the hull.

Personally I'd have passed and upgraded in response.
