INFLUENCE Zeta chameleontis, populate material planet. Influence Deneb, populate one grey planet with money. Flip 2 colony ships back up, populate the other grey planet in Deneb with money

@Tapper/IH and Tattersail this in no way should be taken as an attempt to hold those territories, which I know you both lay claim to. By all means move in and boot me out. We can both get the production out of the systems that way.

Yes, I've claimed them for now, but if I'm attacked and he kills my pop cubes, then I'm booted out. My pop cubes don't go back to the tracks until cleanup and his go on before upkeep, so we both get production.

So, D'rek. What do you envision for this game?

Heh. That is the way the rule book reads. Seems like an exploit to me.

Take you and Khell. The hive world and Zeta Draconis to the south. 319 and 301. Given that rule, you and Khell could take turns "owning" those systems. He influence and colonize 319. You influence and colonize 301. He moves an into 301 from his home world. You put an int into 319. Nuke the systems, influence and colonize. Next round, you move out of 319, he moves from 301 to 319. You move into 301. Rinse and repeat. Assuming you both have an adv mining, you get 4 money, 4 science, and 4 mats each round. For 3 actions. That's not bad. Hell, if you don't mind the betrayal card you could get an ambassador cube each round as well.

I've had similar pacts in real life games, early on it can be pretty useful, but later in the game it is rarely worthwhile

Yeah I've noticed that little fact as well but you each have to burn an action or two to coordinate it and you have to trust the other player to follow through with the agreement. The loss of actions is usually a significant detterent to this kind of arrangement and with the amount backstabbing that has already gone on in this game I seriously doubt players would trust each other enough to follow through for very long.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

If I'd have known about this, Tatts and I might have made Vega and my homeworld work that way.

Khell must be fully engrossed in mafia. Can someone go and lynch him already?

I'm assuming that no one wants me to pin twelve's dreads (or rather, one of them) anymore?

So I'm free to research or whatever this move, right?

Well we do need to pin Twelve's dreads. If you're willing to start things up then we will follow suit.

Though, if you're like me, you might be waiting for somebody with a bit more oomph to initiate things. I really wanted to make that sneak influence move if tapper didn't do it first, and I still need to influence zeta draconis (as it's the only system I plan on actually holding at the end of the round) but other than that I am entirely at the disposal of the anti-twelve effort.

Correction to above:

That and a research action...but that should still leave me 2 move actions to participate in the hunt.

What would be better for the war effort, advanced robotics or phase shields? Bear in mind that I intend to use two of my inf discs to colonise Delta Eridani and the former hive hex.

Advanced robotics gives you another action after this round but phase shields will make you a lot harder to accurately hit. Do you want flexibility or "invisibility?"

Depends on who your fighting. Against CF phase shields aren't much use. Against twelve they could be useful in surviving his missile barrage.

Advanced robotics is a great tech... phase shields are very low on the priority list in most games.

Trying something a bit different with the page 1 updates.

Example:

The Terran Union post
Notice that it now only contains current round information.

Previous round info has been stored in a Galactic Council post

The thought behind this is twofold.
  • Make it quicker and easier to see your competition's current round status.
  • Make it much easier to update your own current round status.

Comments heartily welcomed. This is my idea so all hate mail should come to me not CF. Posted Image

I like the fact that you moved excess old data as some players OP updates are a bit hard to read as the layouts aren't uniformed across players and some are down right cluttered. If you, as a mod, are planning on moving the data why can't you just, as part of the game setup, have 9 seperate posts designed to track all player actions for everyones viewing that is in players order and in a uniformed format.

Update the posts as actions are submitted. Granted it defeats the whole purpose of having players put their actions in one place to help make things easier on the mod but this would be the eqivelant of doing a running text version of a board update.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Speaking of doing OP updates, Khell when you finally get around to making a decision on what you are going to do (any day now would be nice) are you planning on doing an OP update at the same time?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
