If I take a hull off my dread to account for that stupid damage thing that I didn't factor in to the equation I still come out at 93%.

What am I missing?

I am 93% to win with one hull, 2 computers, 2 plasma cannons, tachyon drive and source.

I am obviously more with two hull but I took one off to account for your burst thing.99% to win with two hull and no nova burst.

That is with you have 2 cruisers and 3 interceptors.

adding an upgrade which you should not be able to afford...

two electron comps one on cruiser one on star base gives.. me 98% but i'll take off a hull... that takes me to 80% chance of winning.

Giving you extra hull instead.. 72%

so that is with one less hull on my dread and you with extra on starbases and cruiser.

I don't see your math.

So does knowledge of what I said change GP's action?

I don't think the next action has been taken yet and we've all made quick mulligans in the past.

@Gnaw,

Nova burst is 1 damage applied to all enemy ships regardless of their configuration. It can be used once at the start of combat in any hex.

EDIT

It comes with the pulsar mini-expansion FYI if you're looking for a ref. Slight modification from my original post RE when you can use it.

When you collect the Nova Burst tile, place it next to your Player Board. The Nova Burst may be activated by removing the tile from the game before the battle begins or at any time during a battle when it is your turn in Initiative order. This causes 1 damage to every opposing Ship in the battle. The tile is worth 1VP if still held at the end of the game. The Magellan do not receive their species bonus for the Nova Burst if it is removed from the game.

I want my dread in his hex in minimum number of goes, the interceptor doesn't bother me. So could I move it in there this go without moving my interceptor? If so I will change my provisional.

Well I feel bit better having the odds on my side at least.

You could have just sacrificed the cruiser and left well enough alone Gnaw. You're toast if I somehow recover from this.

Again, I admit I put myself on the block. But are you really trying to tell me you wouldn't be threatening me if I had sacrificed the cruiser?

I am tempted to say that you didn't say that moving the interceptor was a provisional. It was your turn and you declared an action.

But fuck it. If you are determined to take me out there's not a thing I can do to stop you. But you'll be starting round 5 with one interceptor. and almost no money.

Do what you will.

Twelve and CF are egging you on. CF because I've pretty well fucked him over. and twelve...Let's just say that I think Twelve and D'rek are going to be quite your enthusiastic fans.

It's all fun and games, you didn't need to go to the extreme here really. You could have re grouped next round. I was going to influence, take the artifact key and then give it back to you because I wanted to go after Twelve. You messed up my plans :)

I'm cheering for you Gnaw but I still think Tatts will win the fight. He might lose a Dread and that is all I'm really hoping for. If you win that would just be icing on the cake. (If I liked cake that is)
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I would have been happy to take you on next round. Three cruisers added to my two Dreads and I would have wiped the floor with you!!!!

@Gnaw,

Correct. I would not have threatened you further (not right away anyway) and regrouped for Round 5 instead of pursuing you. I might still just regroup anyway, but I won't feel so bad invading you down the road.

^^edited for clarity

You're the one who initiated the incursion anyway remember...I was happy to keep my diplo tile where it was and continue aggravating Khell.

@GP redoing his move

Yes, it was his move, but Others have made changes to issued orders (myself twice, khell at least once, Solidsnape at least once). As long as it's done before the next player issues an action then it's fair game I say.

Tapper did it once too per my suggestion in round two. I didn't want to have to fight him for the ancient hex and he went with it.

I think we all know who the real winner of this round is.

Clue: It's none of you guys.

So what is the over/under on Morgoth getting his next action in, in the next 6 hours?

It's so absurd to see all the smallest players fight it out while the big ones are left alone, and, more importantly, leave each other alone.

I also made the mistake though. I need to remember for next time just how quickly the tables can turn on you if you overreach, and how just a bit of tech can turn the tide

Me vs. Khell was going just fine and then he researched posi-computers. All of a sudden my chances went from "victory possible" to "you are fucking dead if you even try".

I didn't see myself as wanting to tackle the GC at all with my tiny ships, but now I can see how it's a good idea if you have a decent chance of winning. At least there's no retribution from the player the next turn, and you're not competing with an opponent who gets to keep the production you just captured at the end of the round.

Anybody seeking to prevent you capturing the GC likewise has to either be willing to make a massive sacrifice of ships or have an even better chance of taking the GC than you....in addition to beating you first. The more I think about it, the more I realize it's the only way to go if luck is on your side with the first few rounds of hex draws.

There's only 2 big players - GP and twelve - and GP is fighting Gnaw!

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I see you have left yourself off that list Ms I have 6 hexes and one of them is a former homeworld of another player. :)

Solid has a lot of hexes but for all practical purposes they are mostly signle planet hexes so I think we can safely say he doens't fit into that category.... yet.
