@Twelve:

BY descending order of hexes in combat, you're last. I gotta wait for instruction from SS before uncovering your discovery.

Oh. So sometime tomorrow then?

^Twelve ain't kidding either.

While players like me are busy scrabbling together a few measly ships for petty territorial disputes, you could be slamming down multi dreads and cruisers and mowing down the opposition.

I mean, you have nanorobots now, and terrans can make 3 moves per action, and you have a massive stockpile of materials with 8 more coming in during upkeep. It would almost be silly to go with a non-millitary strategy at this point.

Why do I suspect that if Tapper put in a provisional "turn 1 move cruiser and interceptor to CF's warp portal hex", you'd be a very happy camper?
:)

I think he may buy anti matter cannons to be honest to plop on his interceptors

Eh. That's one of the things I'm considering.
Still waiting on the tech draw so my anguish can really begin. :)

Not something you can afford. You'll have 10? science. They are 14 to purchase.

Not only that but they take up something like 4 energy and you do not have a better source than 3.

I have 10 science. Where oh where could I get 4 more science?? Oh, I have 26 materials. And a muon source.
:p
But I'd still need better computers so you're right, I probably won't buy the cannons.

Shit you have enough materials that you could field 8 interceptors and a cruiser this round or 2 interceptors and 4 cruisers. Purchase the positron computers with your science and you could swarm over just about anyone.

I don't want to swarm over anyone. I want to be left alone. But you're right: the possibility of swarming is a decent defense.

That conversation reminds me of the times I used to play Diplomacy live. We always had beer. But one night a couple of people decided Vodka would be fun. So we all drank vodka. It resulted in a house rule: no liquor allowed while war gaming.

Even though we never managed to finish it, Shotlers of Catan was probably the most fun I've ever had with a boardgame. :)

Does order really matter on the disco tiles? There's only one drawn at a time and they can't be put back in the bag once draw, so does it really matter since they're random? (unlike rep tiles that are put back in the bag)

I don't know really...I wondered about that.

Well, I stated at the beginning this is my first game and I want to learn, not win. Especially not conquer. And you probably should be happy with that. If I'm going to gain a betrayal card you are looking weakest.

I'm positive that he mentioned that he will influence the hex. (I mean why wouldn't he as that is one of the main point of attacking the hex in the first place) I also believe he said he wants to settle the money and science slots and then use one colony ship for money to afford the upkeep.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Pretty simple. In addition to being able to buy all the usual stuff (towns, cards, roads, etc), every/most other pair of resources that was not used in the base game could be used to by a shot, which you could immediately force another player to drink. So, ie, a sheep and a wood bought you a rum shot, a clay and a rock bought you a tequila shot, etc.

We were pretty focused on building up towns and points at first so didn't buy many shots, but then someone reached 6 points and everyone started trying to ruin him with liquor because we couldn't catch up to him in the game. He started spending everything on revenge against us, and then someone else reached 7 points and we all ganged on him, and so on. No one ever reached 10 points... I think when we sorta agreed to stop two people had 9 points and were jointly declared the winner.

This then lead to playing Shotgun (Shogun), and then Rumdemic, and then Bottlestore Galactica...

There were 7 of us iirc. That was sorta the reason for the vodka: celebrating our first full game. Two fist fights. The first was more funny than anything because neither of them knew how to fight. They were just rolling around on the floor screaming obscenities. 2 fighting and 3 watching the fighting. The second one was much more serious. The other two took the opportunity to look at everyone's orders, rewrite theirs, and do some minor alterations of other people's orders. It got very ugly once we began to process the rest of the orders.

Trying to catch up on posts.
Basically I want to influence and populate money and science. Flip the remaining colony ship card to bring me to 0 money.

Working on upkeep now. 2 secs.

Cheer guys.

So move your bloody dreadnought and quit talking about reversing the rotation. Then I can quit worrying about you. And quit using phrases like this far.

My dread will be moved next round I am going after those ancients. That's one reason I want improved hull, cause I have a feeling that Twelve may try to sneak in on them or me in the process.
