I would have to make an action, as SS has passed and the round ends when I pass.

I don't have anything more to do (sorry morgoth) and so he won't get a chance to react.

That is...unless you want to make it worth my while Morgoth.

@Gnaw,

THe game files should be on your server HDD in 5 minutes or so. I am very interested to see what you have in store. What do you have planned?

Just food for thought. Giving Morgy a shot at a reaction might save his ass for a little while. A Hegemony occupied elsewhere is a Hegemony not bothering the rest of us. :p

How exactly would I be bothering the pirates from across the map? If anything, CF would want me to keep pressure on twelve in the center from the other side so that CF can keep buggering you and Khell, and/or can be ready to attack (+backstab) twelve at an opportunte time while twelve is busy with me.

Alternatively, it goes the other other way and letting Morgoth steamroll me leads to a super-powerful Exiles knocking on your door down the road.

All of that is true. But the longer the rest of you squabble the higher I can build my walls. My goal for this learning game is survival. I already regret my exploration of 104 and 315.

Don't sweat it Gnaw. Get those materials in action next round and build some ships FFS. A couple of dreads and a cruiser will be plenty of deterrent for all the space-jerks to the north.

Also, what cube do you want on your diplo tile?

Makes my eastern front wider than I'd like. And just sticking my nose into the 100 ring invites a certain level of scrutiny. All for a single materials planet. Not worth the expenditure of time and money.

Yeah, Why do you regret any of those explores? I've been playing around with a strategy for the next game already from what you have done this game Gnaw. I'm very intruged with what you have done so far and am curious as to how it will play out for you down the road.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Those two explores did force me to go west. Combined with your advice twelve about eventually building orbitals and my finding of the virtual fleet concept, the two choke point strategy just fell into my lap.
In the long run though, those two hexes make it more difficult for me to defend my territory.

Considering half the players upkeep depends on the outcome of battles I don't see that happening as a quarter of the players will most likely be asleep before CF resolves the battles. You'll just have to wait. Geesh. You are just as bad as twelve. Hold your horses buster.

You didn't explore 104 did you? Anyway you are in a position to freely abandon those territories if you choose, in fact I'd advice not defending territories outside of your choke points, as you are unlikely to be able to keep it against a serious attack.

Hoping to grab? Improved hull would be nice. My guru says that I should consider neutron bombs. Combined with the ability to shit interceptors all day long it gives me a credible "attack me and I'll blow by your force and nuke your home worlds" threat. I see his point, but I'd just a soon not get into needing that. If I'm down to that, I've probably all ready lost.
What are you wanting under the tree GP?

If there was anything that you should have done differently in creating a bottleneck it would have been to discard the warp portal. It would have cost you the ability to gain diplomacy with Tapper and CF but you would have narrowed the entry points to one point barring any wormhole tech. But I don't see any huge issues with keeping the warp portal hex as you have the ability to create a lot of ships with all the materials you generate and most everyone else is currently occupied elsewhere. We'll see how it plays out later in the game but it is certainly working out for you now.

Ok, then if tapper has no reaction then I will also pass.

I will put a materialcube on the diplo with gnaw.

It will be a few hours before the babe is asleep, but I will resolve battle this evening for sure.

Make sure you get your battle orders in on Page 1 if you haven't already.

You're right. Read the number on the adjoining hex. 206 is the one I wish I wasn't in. And you're right. I'm going to abandon it sometime in the near future.

I think he is referring to Epsilon Indi #206 most likely. Gnaw didn't explore but once in tier II and not at all in tier I even though he was the second player to do actions in round 1.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I agree with the provision that it was an evolving strategy. I hadn't fully considered my options yet. And there are still two warp portals out there I believe. One discovery and one development. So my ass is truly hanging in the breeze there.

I didn't even get the VP for 315. I had to pull the influence disc in round 1 bankruptcy.
