I know. Hence the "I need to think". Which translates to: what can I do to encourage Tapper that it's worth using reaction moves to ga after you? :p

I think with the way the traitor card is going to get passed around this game, nobody is going to be too queasy about an early-game betrayal. Tapper has a very strong military right now. He'd probably be better served squishing SS tbh, but you're going to be a force to be reckoned with if somebody doesn't hamper your efforts soon.

Hint hint eh? I am not doing that. Not without co ordinated efforts. So not this round, maybe not next, maybe not at all, depending on what Gnaw has in mind.

So Tapper, diplomacy?

@IH

I has neutron bombz

"The player holding the traitor card may not form new Diplomatic relations as long as he has the card"
Edit: spelling

And besides Tapper is already maxed out with diplomacy tiles anyway.

Man I leave to a dead thread and BAM!!!!! Everything blows up. Fireworks didn't happen the way I expected them to.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'm thinking the Hydrani (and Lyra) aren't really great for large-scale games. They are slower to build up, and there's just no room on the board to allow you to stay away from others in the meantime. Might have been better off for the likes of me if this game did have alliances.

That is so mean. So very mean.

I know this is my first time playing this particular game, but I have played similar ones. I disagree with Tatts. You're move on the sushi isn't mean. It's petty. You know you're going down and you just want to take somebody with you. The ancient is going to nuke the one hex. Tapper is going to hammer you through the warp portal.
You have managed to make me feel sorry for Khell. I didn't think that would happen for two or three more days.

I think my only hope of staving off defeat and accumulating more than a handful of VPs is to get better systems under my control. It's not petty at all...simply the best option other than doing nothing and waiting for the game to end.

And what's with getting all butthurt about playing with the objective of winning in mind? It's not like I'm being a "bad sport". The only way to win with Rho indi is to stay on the move and generally be a massive nuisance to everybody.

Yeah if I played as them I would have attacked my nearest neighbor's homeworld round one. Hence why I was trying to avoid having wormhole connections with you as well. Especially with my dreads so far away to do anything about it if you did attack my homeworld.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I see no way back for Khell. Does anyone agree with this assessment? Can he surprise us all somehow?

Or you could have picked a terran race instead of the Hydri as they start out with Starbases since you knew you were going to be next to the pirates.

Khell actually will have a half way decent material generation and he should still have enough science to grab positron computers to slap on his cruisers to fight back next round. Plus if Tapper decides to go after CF through the wormhole then CF will have a two front war and will be in serious shit. Khell isn't eliminated and as long as he can get two researches in he will still be able to generate a fair amount of points by end game.

Now that there's no mafia for a while I may actually expend a bit more mental activity in this direction. Or I may just do a Tattersail-style suicide :p

I agree with that assessment. CF gains your system. But loses at the very least, the one system. If Tapper takes the warp portal CF is in deep shit. Khell's survival could come down to the hive roll. If an ancient moves and pins a CF ship.

Tapper can spend his effort on me, but he'd have to realize that two massive neighbours (twelve and Gnaw) are a bigger threat than some pirates. Crush me at the expense of two game rounds and get squished right back by Twelve / Gnaw when he's not expecting it.

And you are saying Tachyon drive isn't good? They are awesome!!! It allowed me to move all over the board last game with my armada. It was the only way I could have taken the shellworld off of Khell (along with the wormhole generator of course) as I literally moved my Dreadnaught from one end of the board to the next with one move action. It's very hard for people to envision they are in trouble from a ship so far away. That makes it's easier to sneak in and take something off of another player without them even knowing it was danger in the first place.

And has Khell figured out what he is going to do this round? I don't remember him stating anything yet but there was a lot going on this morning so I may have missed it.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
