Explore again.

Frankly I believe Tatts when he says he won't attack you after he has taken Vega. Why you may ask? Well because D'rek will have taken the Hive hex and has superior ships to what he has for one. Plus she will be a stones throw away from Aldebaran (107) which is the more efficient path to the GC so being worried about losing that is a valid concern for him. Plus the most important reason of all.

The list.

D'rek has placed herself at the top of his list after last game so he will most likely be jonesin for some payback and D'rek probably strongly suspects they won't be peaceful neighbors again and is prepared for a few border skirmishes. So for you just be prepared to throw down a few starbases and have them upgraded starting in Round three so they can be a strong deterent for aggressive actions against you. Try and really get your material production up high so you can give yourself some flexibility in going orbital/monolith route or being able to throw down a bunch of ships and swarm your neighbors if you want to be the silent strike type. The key is to try and keep yourself as flexible as possible. Don't be afraid to change plans if a better opportunity presents itself.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

@CF

Can I rotate that tile CCW once before placing? That'll be wormholes at S, SE, NE. Yeah?

Influence and populate with money cube.

Cheers.

Going to update my first post now.

Muahahaha!!!

I joke. I haven't planned past round 2. Too many variables. I'd prefer not to get into battle with anyone until later rounds. If D'rek forces my hand i think I can repel her. You can produce ship after ship with your material producion, you need tech's though. Greatly.

Should do. Will have another money cube hopefully at the end of the combat round on that grey planet I bankrupt last round. I should have 8 money coming in, plus my colony ship to flip makes 9.

Question, when I influence the system at the end of the round because my interceptor is there, does that only cost me the one disc? Or do I have to put a disc on the action track too?
If so, then I need to use another 4 discs in this turn.
If not, only 3.

Another 2 to explore and influence my latest hex and whatever I need to claim back the system I bankrupted in the last round.

With 2 more money cubes to place my income should go upto 8. Meaning I can flip my last colony ship card to bump it upto 9.

Another question is, can I build with a pulsar?

@SolidSnape,

Orientation done. Influenced and colonized with money cube.

For a discovery you find an ANCIENT CRUISER. This is a free cruiser-class (medium) ship that you can put in play immediately on the hex where you got the discovery tile....or keep the victory points.

RE your questions

You can build 1 of any ship or starbase with your pulsar build actions, provided you have the materials already. To influence a hex it means taking an action disc off your player board. The only things that can put action discs back ON your player board are the Advanced Robotics tech and the Quantum Grid tech.

For planning your turn, you can just write it down action by action with columns for money, science and materials beside each action - that's what I do. You know what each action is going to cost in upkeep (by the bottom row on your player board), you know what your colonization is going to provide in additional income, and you know when you might have to influence a hex. It puts a turn in perspective and helps you prioritize stuff.

@All

Ok, we're all caught up on action round 3 then. I am going to start into action round 4 provisionals.

Why can't I get an ancient cruiser? :p

I swear CF is giving me stupid hexes just because I placed an ancient hive next to him.

It's ok.

I'm not going to process action round 4 moves until I hear from Gnaw and SS on hex orientation anyway. You've got a bit of time.

Uh. You mean action round 3 moves right? Because Khell hasn't started action 4 round yet.

Yes, the whole board is being doled out not at random, but in a perscribed manner meant to deceive all doubters and ensure a win for me!

I'm not upset about the ancient hive at all. I get money from battles and single ancients are like a 80% win for a pair of my interceptors. It might delay a plan here or there, but no biggie.

You up for diplo next round if I manage to dispatch these double ancients down south? I can only see it being to our mutual advantage. I have a horrible economy so I need all the help I can get!

@D'rek / IH

I know it was mentioned earlier but I can't find the post for the life of me. How many Tier 3's are we allowing? 24? I'm guessing that's in addition to the homeworlds...if not we're already over the limit and maybe should just allow all tier 3s.

If we're not over the limit then current tally stands at 19 tier 3s explored, meaning there's only 5 left.

Influencing a hex via battle resolution only costs you one influence disk. That one is placed on the hex to show everyone you are now the owner of the hex. Of course it usually costs you more influence disks to claim a hex in the form of moves, upgrades and research than simply exploring but you will have already accounted for those disks earlier in the round. In your case it didn't cost you an influence disk to move as you used a pulsar action. I hope this helps

I believe someone else answered this one but yes you can build 1 thing with the pulsar action not the usual 2 (3 with nanorobots), or 3 (4 with nanorobots) if you are the Machines.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

CF

Here is the appropriate section of the rules. From what I can tell it's an additional 24 as they are draw piles and the starting homeworlds don't need to be drawn.
