Ehm, Tats, why this newfounded pessimism?

You're far from in a losing position: good income, decent science, diplomatic agreements with both your neighbours, you're completely or mostly shielded from D'rek by the Exiles. There's an uncolonized materials tile for more materials.

Equally, your race bonus will come into its own if you go to war in the mid-to-late game as you can use the colony ships to get materials that will allow you to build better ships or to gain science to win some nice techs - heck, you can even flip 2 of them this round if you don't explore further.

In other words, doom and gloom ill becomes thee.

I have to agree with Tapper here. You had a great round one with your economy at 10 and improving a Dreadnaught right out of the gate. If you had better cannons you could almost take on those ancients all on your own.

@Gnaw

Remember what I said about defense. Tats will have a highly accruate hitting Dreadnaught sitting on your homeworld's doorstep. You have enough materials to build enough starbases to take it out but improvements to that blueprint would improve your odds greatly. Gauss shield is a cheap way to lower his accuracy. You probably don't need to worry about it until round 3 but keep in mind that if you leave yourself wide open you may invite disaster.

Thanks Twelve I am keeping a nervous eye on him.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but are we not still waiting on CF and Khell to do their second actions??

I've done my second action and I'm waiting for it to come round for me to do my third action. The Hydrani of Khellopolis do not do provisionals, we execute actions only when they are ready to be deployed based upon all known factors. We're all techy and sciencey like that.

Yes he has. He is using one of his pulsar free actions to move an interceptor from his homeworld to the hex he had to bankrupt last round so he can influence it during the battle resolution phase. He then put in a provisional to explore on his next action after that. He hasn't updated his first post however. I'm not sure if CF knows that he has his action in yet or not. I'm half tempted to log into the Adjudicator alt and edit SS post to update his actions.

So as of right now we are waiting on CF it's just a matter of if CF knows this or not.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

There is a difference between friendly and friendly with an army next door. There's always the temptation.

It will move away soon enough. I have to worry about the ancient that D'rek is after in case it jumps onto my hex. I will have to leave starbases and interceptors maybe to stave your temptation :)

I don't want a war with you. I want you to go play somewhere else. My 3rd action at the moment is to move my interceptor into Vega. You'll get the betrayal card if you move your dreadnought in after my interceptor is there. I'm aware though that that might give you an antagonistic view and give me the war I don't want.
Exploration tiles are getting skimpy. Once you have Vega my home system is going to look very appetizing. So why don't we just both stay out of Vega and be friends?
Edit: and by staying out of Vega, I mean this: I move my interceptor there. But that's it. You go elsewhere and I'll sacrifice the interceptor and consider it acceptable loss.

You and the Khan are friends. Go on a bonding experience with him. Drink tea over D'rek's cold body.

I Drew Vega, it is my hex. In my opinion you will be asking for war. I told you at start Vega was my goal. I want the discovery tile

If I wasn't going for Vega I could have explored twice. So you moving an interceptor in there would ruin round two for me and possibly my Game.that is quite spiteful. I want moving on your homeworld. I'm going to be fending off Drek soon enough. Do you not have defense for your home world.

That was meant to read I won't move in your homeworld. Ask IH. I've been letting him know my intentions. My goal is to make myself strong. I need the discovery tile, possibly only one I'll get.

Oooh, that's a good move. At this stage when people haven't totally allied up, getting the traitor card could be devastating if everyone else decides not to ally up too much in order to make GP keep it! :p

Haha, what bullcrap is this? "Ask IH" as if he's a virtual living lie detector who you could not possibly have lied to. For that matter, why would you be telling IH all your plans anyways?

There are a ton of discovery hexes still available in tier III Tatts. About half the tiles left have discovery tiles on them.

But don't let that change your course. Feel free to fight Gnaw. If he moves into Vega and forces you to take the traitor card feel free to just ignore D'rek and Morgy and finish off that cull for his peasant behavior. So uncivilized.

Actually I thought a time or two about PMing IH as if he was a mafia spoiler heaven. But I decided against it as he may step in as a temporary sub from time to time. Probably not a great idea spilling my guts if he has to sub. Might cause a bit of a conflict of interest.

If you we're to cede the Vega sector to me, I would dump materials for more science and grab advanced economy.
Eh, he's gone now.

I am going to hit it at the end of this round mate. That is my goal for this round, to demolish that ancient.

Nothing more was said on it. So you could have discussed this more with me back then. I have to battle Vega this go because I have Drek to worry about and that ancient hive hex as well.

There is not many explored left and I only have two more moves available this round. One now I'm building a dread. Cf has good material production but not a lot of techs so I could take him out but I've said that is not my intention.

??? Why would I fight you ???

I have Tapper and CF on either side of me, two strong military races, and I'll be taking the GC, which most people want for themselves. I'll probably be spending most of the game just trying to defend my territory. You can forget that I would go out and take the fight to anyone else unless there is a huge long term benefit to me to do that which I just don't see as likely.

I think GP is so quick to assert how he doesn't want to fight people away from himself because he's been considering attacking them first
