@Tapper,

I don't want to skip over you.

What was your turn 5 action - the one just prior to Twelve researching the +12 science development and me buying advanced robotics?

or did you pass?

I have a question regarding the ancient Dreadnaught in the center hex. The shield regenerator, does that just remove a point of damage each round or does it also provide a -1 shield as well to the Dreadnaught?

There is no shield attached. It just regenerates 1 combat damage per combat round.

ah. Thought I read that. Thanks.

Ok, so SS has given me his hex orientation and the rest should just be his pulsar moves and Twelve's move and my eventual pass.

I will have a board update for all to see and review in 2 minutes.

Well I'm going to pass after my research of the quantum grid so it's just up to SS to finish up the round I think.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

board is up. Please double check my work and make sure I didn't make any mistakes or omissions.

Should be all good up to RI Syndicate turn 5, except for SS's pulsar move.

Advice please: Since I'm going to be -1 money, should I pull an influence disc or convert 2 materials?

If I pull the influence from the hex with the ship and population cube (canopus) do I automatically lose the cube too? My understanding is that I can explore from a hex with either an influence or a ship, so pulling the influence from Canopus would be the wiser move unless it would cost me the cube as well. Pulling the disc from the epsilon aerwhatever disc would mean I'd have to re-influence to explore from it.

You lose any population on planets if you deinfluence and thus don't get income from it. You are better off deinfluencing the blank hex.

Right ok sorry people.
There's just my pulsar moves to make. I'll be passing after that.
Few questions.
So I realise I can build another interceptor, I just thought they were weak as piss so i was going to build a cruiser in the next round. Though I suppose the starbase sounds ok. I get that because I'm the terrans if I'm correct? I. Is that the card I can see on my board, the 'can build starbases' card?

well, the upgrades don't cost you anything. I'd at least take those. You haven't researched any new ship components, but you're free to swap around what you already own (ie the parts already on your blueprints).

I don't know what this means.

You could use them to build another interceptor or to upgrade some of your ships blueprints with additional hull or computersif you'd like. Or a combination of the two.

I thought I had to research these things before I could upgrade them?

Also, I understand that if I use these pulsars I'm not having to put discs on the action track for 'build' or 'upgrade' which will save me upkeep at the end of the round. That right?

Thanks in advance for the help. I am getting there.

By the way, I should get rep just for breaking my multi-quote-with bold-post cherry.
Over 2 years on the forum and 33 years with a brain and that's the first time I've done it.

:p

Going to update first page upto my pulsar moves until I get some answers.

You can't build starbases because you're Magellan (I think CF was thinking you were humans, who start with starbase technology).

By additional hull/computers, he means upgrading your ships with the "Hull" or "Electron Computer" ship parts into the blank slots on your ships' blueprints. The Hull, Electron Computer, Ion Cannon, Nuclear Source and Nuclear Drive ship parts are available to everyone without having to research any technologies (they have no little technology icon in the top right of their ship parts tiles).

Using your pulsar actions will not add anything to the upkeep you need to pay (and won't reduce it either).

Ok thanks D'rek. I am the humans though.

Right, so my interceptor has one blank space, so can I upgrade the hull one point without having to remove anything?

No, you're not. You're the Pony Boys of Magellan. Which is a made up faction used to replace the Descendants of Draco faction. The picture on the player board is a joke.

So my special move is fusion source? What does that do? Go on your chips?
Also, what does the restriction on using my colony ships mean in real terms?
