Where do we stand at the moment?

Ok, again thanks. So there's nothing I can afford on the supply board, so upgrading and researching are out for me on this round eh? I'll have to wait until after the upkeep when I've got more Science. That right?

I think so.

You can upgrade with basic parts, (ie anything you already have on your ship) but not advanced parts. If you aren't attacking it probably isn't worth it.

Hmm. By passing Khell gets first turn next round yes?
I read something about the second person who passes determines turn rotation? Or does it remain clockwise?

Gnaw, you know how upkeep works right?
Currently you have done 3 explores, and have claimed 3 systems, plus your homesystem... that leaves you at -7 upkeep, which you can't afford (you only have 6 income) now that isn't necessarily a bad thing as it means you can remove one influence disc from the empty tile you colonised. However if you do another explore that puts you at -10 upkeep, or -13 if you colonise the system you discover. Even if the tile you discover has a money planet, you'd still only be able to afford an upkeep of 8, so you would have to remove a influence disc from your empty system and one of your brown planet systems, if it doesn't have a money tile you still have to remove one influence disc from a brown planet system or both your influence discs from these two planets if you choose to colonise the system and keep it.
Now this is a valid strategy as you could find a very good system or a useful discovery tile, but just wanted to make sure you knew exactly what you are risking when you do another explore, you will have to lose one of the systems you claimed.
Also did you decide where you are putting you muon source? i don't see it in your first post

This may seem a bit of a belated question, but why do I have 2 discs on my action marker? I see most other players have too. What's that all about?

Do I know what I'm doing? Doh. No.
You're saying simply doing the explore costs an infulence? Was not aware of that. heh. So when CF updates the map, I'll lose one for exploring and one for colonizing? Taking me to -10. Pulling the influence disc from Epsilon takes that back to -7. The pop cube will take me to 6 income. Meaning as it stands, I'll lose one money from storage, right?
The muon source is a one time use thing right; it only applies to one specific ship not all of them and is destroyed if that is destroyed? I was going to save it for a starbase or dreadnaught.

Each time you do an action, whether it be explore, research upgrade etc, you use a disc. Ie remove one from the money track. That means you can only do a certain number of moves before you go bankrupt. If you explore and then influence a hex that takes up two discs. it is a reason I am waiting on a board update.

Gnaw you apply it to one ship type. You can build as many ships as you like and can afford that have that part.

So. If I pass now {after the update) I'll lose 1 money from storage during upkeep? Assuming i pull the disc from Epsilon and I see no reason not to do so.
Given that I have squids with neutron bombs next door, what should I do?

If I were to pass, I'd be the one choosing rotation direction. It would stay clockwise; I don't like being right behind the squids, but I really don't like being that last to take a turn.

I looked at previous board update. I've already paid the disc for exploring Epsilon Indi.

So you should have one disc on the explore part of the action track for EACH time you explore and place a new hex?
So after the update, I should have 3 stacked up?
