Canada Day be happening, so CF's AWOL. And then on Thursday it's US Independence Day, so we'll likely have a very slow week. Americans, eh?

If you feel the need to do something eclipsesque you can go and do your upkeep for round 4. You and Tapper are the only two not involved in a fight this round so you can at least get that done in advance of the next round.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

The page one idea seems to be a bust. According to it:
Tapper moved 2 fighters on turn 3.
Morgoth passed turn 8.
SS passed turn 6.
I'm on turn 13.
D'rek upgraded turn 5.
Twelve passed turn 6.
Squids passed turn 7.
CF passed turn 6.
Tatts moved dread 2 turn 7.

Yeah, this is a bad week to be an ex imperial power isn't it?

The only ones I see as a problem are Tapper and D'reks where they don't list a Pass. Ideally people should post no reaction but then most people don't take reactions and if they are thinking about it will at least post they want one so people know to let them make a move when it comes to them for a reaction. But just for you Gnaw I'll post my actions 7-13 as no reaction.

Wasn't being snarky. But whatever works. :)

So has someone done the maths is Gnaw out or not? I don't have time to work it out, he certainly can't meet upkeep by ordinary means (unless i've missed something), but if Tats wins he might be able to make it? is that right? it might actually be better in the long run for tats to retreat, gnaw is eliminated anyway, and he'll be the only one able to influence gnaws homeworld.

I'm fairly certain that gnaw is out of the game. I think the only influence disk he can bankrupt is his home world and that would bring his upkeep down to -25. I think he has two money in the bank and his income definately won't be 21 to cover the cost.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I cannot retreat because his starbases will still fire. I don't think he has put himself out of the game just to let my dreads go and leave me his homeworld anyway. What would be the point in that? I see both my dreads being destroyed and me being out of the game for a round or two. Depends on who wants to come have a picnic with my hexes. With his new set up I think it is 70/30 in his favour.

If your dreads retreat, one will almost certainly survive, and gnaw will still be out of the game. I don't think he thought it through.

He will still have ships, bit even if he removes all his discs, and makes an alliance (which he can't do as no one connects) he will still be bankrupt which eliminates him from the game. Even if you eliminate him, that still puts his max possible money at 16? And he needs 17 I think

How do you work it out? because of nova burst I will only have 4 HP, If I retreat he will fire 8 shots will he not? Also where would I retreat to? Vega is occupied.

@Morg - Upgraded
@D'rek- passed
@SS - Passed
@Tapper - passed
@Twelve - passed
@Me - passed

ANd for fucks' fucking sake. How did we both miss the fact that we'd be breaking diplo Khell???

I pulled out of B. Hydri for the express purpose of you pulling in there and entered diplo for the production!! We both just missed it.

A mean scheme to give you the traitor card is an idiotic plan at this point in the game - just an oversight on both our parts. Christ. Super annoying.

Not the end of the game for me, but still super annoying

Anyone care to let us mulligan that diplomacy and re-initiate at the end of the round??? Pretty please??

Not serious. Too late to correct that now I think. If we had realized our mistake on your turn Khell we could have safely fixed it I think, but now it's done.

@Khell - passed
@Gnaw - influenced
@GP - passed

@Gnaw - did all the subsequent things you ordered

@ Whoever is running shit for Tapper while he's away

Would you like to enter diplo with me at the end of the round? I want the production and don't have any reason or need to attack you. I also promise not to pursue Gnaw's old territories this turn so that you can expand thru the worm hole unmolested. I need a turn to regroup anyway!

And most importantly

What the fucking fuck Gnaw??? I mean, you're going down in a spectacular blaze of glory but jesus christ! It would have been so easy to keep going with the game! I gave up my homeworld 2 rounds ago to the ancients for chrissakes!

I mean, moving on me was likely a mistake on your part seeing as how I was being ousted by Khell's superior tech anyway, but it was hardly unrecoverable. You could have just sacrificed a single cruiser, conceded your homeworld this round and still come back next round to smash the everloving shit out of GP for his insolence AS WELL AS defending the wormhole from any potential incursion by me or Tapper.

Ah well, it's done now and it will be interesting to see how those in a position to do so choose to squabble over the remains.

So who thinks by retreating I will have a Dread left? Who thinks I have any chance of winning if I stay? Any advice from you all is appreciated, doesn't mean I have to take it.

Edit. In fact, D'rek or Twelve, what do you think objectively?

I don't know if IH is working in collusion with Gnaw to pound my Dread's to dust. With the Nova Burst and Starbases not being able to retreat I don't know how to work out my survival rates.

RE my absence

Yes, this was Canada Day weekend. I was at the cottage watching Baby TV mostly. That is when the baby becomes a TV in the centre of the room and everyone watches her do baby things in rapt silence.

Also got out for a quick dinghy sail during the 1 hour interval that the fog actually blew off shore.

Mostly baby TV though.

@COMBAT ROUND

Everybody get your instructions in asap. I will resolve the battles tonight.

If it's alright with everybody, (especially D'rek and Morgoth) I will truncate the combat reporting to omit any rounds where there are no hits. I think there are enough ships involved in all the battles that it won't be so much of a pea-shooter war, but still...

Jesus Christ Tatts.

Quote

223 - do not use nova burst until the time of my first initiative.

If a retreat has been ordered by Tatts, do not use nova burst and retreat my cruiser to the hex south.

If he has fired, use the burst and return fire.

You will have to survive 8 shots that only hit on 5 and 6. You will have 6 points not 4. I will add in that hits should be alternated between your dreads. There are THREE empty hexes to retreat to.
Take the blinders off. You are in the fix you are in because you didn't believe me.
