What is with everyone passing so soon? Gnaw takes one action and Tatts two and you are done? Craziness.

I want first crack at research. Why Tatts is passing I'm not certain.
Twelve remember the Diplomacy game? How Tapper refused to back stab EM because it was his first game and Tapper felt he should be given a straight hand for his first game?

That was why Tapper didn't do it? Frankly I thought EM should have done it to him instead. He was in a much better position to attack Tapper and not lose any ground. He may have even pulled out the win if he had, though he was tactically challenged and I'm sure Bonecaster, Goat and I would have outplayed him and turned the map into one big cluster when one of us three turned on each other after Tapper was neutralized.

That game had great potential to fall into chaos. It's all your fault Gnaw. Siding with the powers that were gobbling you up and spurning the help offered by those that were willing to give it to you. For shame.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'm going for the centre twelve. It that double ancient Cf. Or a lucky numberslevin

Feel free to piss away your ships against me. Frankly I don't think CF can make a move on the double ancient hex this turn with Tapper poised to attack him through the wormhole hex. One little interceptor of CF against Tapper's cruiser with missles and positron computers doesn't look like a fair fight to me. CF will have to park a few more ships on the warp portal to give Tapper greater pause.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Tapper. This is my first game. :p

Tapper, finish him off this game since you didn't do it in Diplomacy.

Pretty please. :p

@All who posted provisionals - done as requested.

@Solid - what is going on with teh cruiser upgrade? I thought you said what's done is done or something and we weren't revisiting it. If legitimately asked for it and I simply forgot, then no problem. If it was a wishy washy thing where you weren't sure and there's no clear request, then I'd rather leave things as-is. I'm not going to go back and check through it all, so I take your word for it, whichever way you decide.

@Rho indi - Upgrades interceptors with conformal drive over the existing drive.

I suppose I can put my next provisional move in.

UPGRADE plasma cannon over ion cannon on cruiser, and extra hull in blank spot on cruiser.

Can any researched items be used on more than one blueprint.
In other words, can I fit the plasma cannon to my interceptor as well?

If you research a ship part you can use it as much as you like as long as any prerequisites are met, ie you have enough power no drives on starbases things like that.

As this is the ONLY part of the forum I see these days, I thought I'd offer up a question that is slightly off topic.

What should I read next?

Haha, I know!
But hear me out. This is strictly a Malazan question.
Basically I've read up to and including TCG. My re-read took my up to the bone hunters and I'm quite well versed on the series.
Having read ICE's contributions I was wondering if I should finish his too before reading the andii trilogy. That leaves OST.
is there anything from the main plot that I'm missing in ICE's books?

I am doing a current re read. I have just finished The Bonehunters and started Reaper's Gale. If you have finished a full re read including ICE's book then go for the next OST. I have not read the Andii book yet.

I'm not sure if I fancy that mother dark themed trilogy, I heard a reading from it by the man himself too, and LOVED Rake. I just fancied reading something more 'current'.
So OST it is.
I'm just finishing up with ASoIaF which I've blasted through in the last few weeks. So I'll have to get my hands on OST soon.
Chars!

@ SS:

You've got Orb Sceptre Throne, and then Blood and Bone after that too, presumably? And if you read slowly enough, you'll have Assail when you've finished those two :p

I went into Forge of Darkness with low expectations. I wasn't interested in seeing an expanded version of the stories that we had already heard. And then FoD blew all my preconceptions completely out of the water. I wouldn't say it was a total classic, but kudos to SE for once again doing something different and (believably) turning on its head many of the things that you thought you knew.

@All: I need to play around with the battle simulator, so I'll be a while before making my move. It will be an upgrade move, however, so I don't think it particularly affects anyone if you just keep playing after me.

Bah, the best I can do against those two ancients in the hive is a 40% chance - which is no chance at all really :p Might have to leave them for the next round unless someone has ideas?

I actively disliked FoD and unlike every other malazan novel have no desire to re-read it. So there. You can all attack me for that, now.

Oooh no, I like divergent opinions! Discussion time! What was it that you disliked so about FoD? For me, the bits which were more 'ugh' were those times when the retconning was just too obvious, and there were a few times. And the end was poor, but I put that down to being the first book in a trilogy. But I liked the overall mood of the piece and seeing Tiste in a way I had never seen them before. More personally

Tatts are you going to do a reaction? It looks like Gnaw put down the word reaction after his Pass so I'm assuming he is planning a build most likely with his next move. Have you ping'd Morgoth letting him know it's his go yet?
