I just want to know how he sexed Silannah.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

That puzzled me in GotM but then I just thought rake did it in soletaken
However in FoD the dragons invade KG an I can't imagine rake sleeping with the enemy (dragons were the flash back with the hust legion going into SD proves that
So how did their relationship kick off
Maybe silanah was just too damn sexy?

Also my respect for the elder gods went up because of FoD
Cause they were virtually gods already and Erastas ruins this peace (that guy needs a lesson from draconus although I'm pretty sure hood wants a price of him) I'm guessing that errastas got more powerful because of the blood sacrifice so the azathanai had to follow suit in order to keep balance? ( am I right?)
One thing that I haven't figured out caladan brood doesn't seem like an elder god how does he escape this fate

Initially, blood sacrifice was used as a way to pay tribute to the Old Testament God. It was required by him. We all know (or maybe we don't) the story of Abraham and Isaac. In fact, God preferred Abel over Cain because of the blood tribute compared to the tribute of crops (leading to host of other issues, which aren't necessarily pertinent to my point).

With the New Testament, God sent a human embodiment of himself in the form of his "son" Jesus. His coming was meant to break the old Hebrew law, that of sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed himself for the world, so that afterwards, the people would not be judged on their sins, so much as their faith. Much of this was prophesied in the Old Testament, but again, a moot point.

Obviously SE twisted and changed the creation/sacrifice mythology and the relationships, origins, etc. But the idea of a personal sacrifice to save the world, so to speak, remains. You can point to Rake's sacrifice inside of Dragnipur as his crucifixion moment. And many parallels can drawn elsewhere too. This is another reason why I love TtH SO freaking much. I was raised on the Bible, and alot of my beliefs stem from that early indoctrination, if you will. Of course now I'm a free-thinkin' folk and like to believe that most of it is parable and folk tale. But the use of this timeless theme really hit home with me, and I appreciate the way SE used it.

So having said that, maybe Rake does indeed get a resurrection. However since the only ideas we have of Biblical resurrection are bizarre prophecies with lions, lambs, whores, beasts, seven headed dragons and plague-wielding horsemen, who knows how SE will choose to handle it, if he does at all.

Rake will propably not have a resurection, but he seems to be alive within Mother Dark. "He could feel a presence. More than one. A mother. A son. Apart for so long, and now they were entwined in ways too mysterious, too ineffable, to grasp" Page 1244 of the Bantam paperback of Toll the Hounds.

I suppose it comes down to all Elder Gods are Azathanii, but not all Azathanii are Elder Gods.

Likely the ones who become known as EGs are the ones who embrace the whole worshippers/sacrifice/blood/power/aspect thing, while others are content to avoid it entirely and actively 'act human'.

Admittedly we're missing massive chunks of the story, but when we see Brood in GotM and later he's actively being a warlord and mercenary and while powerful as all fuck, not the least bit worshipped that we see.

Plus there are Az'i like the 'vacuum guy', who may be the man on the moon who Apsalar tells Crokus about, and/or the tattooed moon guy from BnB, but who doesn't seem to be needing blood worship... tho that can also change with time, so hard to say one way or another there.

I'm very new to the series and just now starting on Deadhouse. I plan on reading ICE's books as well, mainly cause I can get them on my Nook.. and I can't get the other novellas.

Anyway, should I read Forge after I'm done with the series?
