Forum Shift - Scheduled Downtime Monday 18th March, 9pm GMT

Hi all,
We now have a pencilled-in date for the forum shift. I will be taking the forums offline at approximately 9pm GMT on Monday the 18th of March in order to conduct the shift. This is a process that will take some time and I cannot give you an exact end date, save to say that it will hopefully only be a few hours.
During the shift, if you feel withdrawal symptoms like shaking, sweating, nausea, panic attacks, and the like, make sure you visit your nearest substitute Malaz fix: the Backup Forum. There you will meet others in the same situation as yourselves, so you can give each other mutual comfort and assurance (or, you know, reinforce and grow the panic...>.>). There is also the Malazan Facebook group, though they always seem to be behind on current events and horrendously spoileriffic in their postings (one day Failbook will get itself a spoiler function), but you still might find some comfort there (also, feel free to point the lost souls who didn't see this message to the previous link ).
Once we've shifted, I'll bring the forum back online and we can bask in the glorious warmth of our new home, which should have ample resources to keep us up and running quite happily. The forum and website URLs will stay the same, so no worries there.
Warm Regards from the Space Station,
Your Benevolent Tyrants.

The backup forum is a haven for pornographers. On the other hand, it has a few negative aspects as well.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Wait, what? You're going to interrupt a mafia game on DDay for something as inconsequential as a server migration?
Gah, our new overlord is cruel! Cruel, I say.

Repent!
The interwebs requires more bacon and lolcats!
The interwebs requires more bacon and lolcats!
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Hah! You should have seen some of my predecessors. Never mind interrupting a mafia game, how about losing years of past games for something as inconsequential as board downtime? Stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it! You young 'uns have no idea some of the horrors we've been through round these parts.

Bringing the forums back can be a bit risky. Member names get lost.etc., right? Perfectly reasonable; happens all the time. So how much would it cost for the Bent name to be freed up?

Yeah, I know how excrement occur at times such as this. I've got the Tapper's Stuff forum backed up to my hard drive just in case.

Can this be combined with a forum purge? Like, say, getting rid of all Hobb fans for instance? Or Mutants? Heretics? Blasphemers unto the God-Emperor?
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Like I said in the other thread, the Purges come later.

Can we have a count down clock, like in Mafia?

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
