I like the ambiance and the overall environment. Scale of the 3rd gear is maybe off, think it should be smaller. I think iI would like it a bit more if you didn't have the two other gears, takes away from the flow. I like the foreground one looks good though. Nice signature

Only thing you could do is make him look a bit more ragged/burnt and dirty. Unless this is after they rejoined the army and cleaned up. If so, then I'm just an ass.

It captures Keneb's character really well, doesn't it? You get the feeling of someone quiet, modest, dependable, hard working, who has been through the mill a bit. I asked my other half what he thought of the character portrayed. His answer: reminds him of the guy from Gladiator (i.e. Maximus) - a leader who has courage, integrity and humility. Not bad description of Keneb for someone who has not read the books.

I just went through this whole thread on my new Surface Pro 3 (dope device), and your work - especially the portraiture - is even more striking and detailed than on a low DPI screen!
