Dude...this would be great to see more of! The quotes highlight my need to revisit GotM.

you gonna work up more Aral Gamelon?

Looks good, like always. Just one thing. Reflections always are reflected in a vertical fashion. I noticed the one drawing you made with the moon and now the reflection of the character here is angled. If you look at reflections in water, no matter what angle you look from it will be straight below the item casting the reflection. Only thing a bit off for me.

Also, I really like your skies. And your eyes.

Dolmen, it would be cool to do some stuff from the demon realm/s. Maybe next contest on DA, we're due another Warren aren't we, Aral Gamelon is a warren isn't it.
Yeah, your right there Llama, looked wrong as soon as I did it. Will get around to fixing it.

Like this. Interesting texture to the face. Eye ridge could be bigger, maybe a bit too smilie.... lips and the cheeks should be gone, make it a little more skeletal, less zombie maybe?

Love love love this one! Don't know whether you consciously or subconsciously matched the facial shapes but it works so very very well.

The face works but the scarring around the eye... i dunno... what stage/book Toc is this supposed to be?

I like the pic itszelf, looks like a classic lit demon.
Aren't Bhokaral supposed to be hairy? ...if it's his veered form, don't think it has wings.

Seems more like Tavore post DoD to me.
Blend circa MoI and TtH i always took as younger, plus she seems like the type who would wear her hair down to cover her face.
Blend in OST... leaving aside ICE writing her as fatter, the severity of the features doesn't quite line up for me. Eyes look kind of alien.

For some reason, I've always pictured Blend as bigger (and build-wise, tougher) than the lither Picker. It made her ability to blend in that much more surprising/ironic, I guess. So that looks more like Picker to me (but like Abyss mentions, pre-OST). Not plain enough for Tavore IMO. Still, all in all, a great Malazan-y picture for sure.

Nobbs, you are edging towards the absurd here - Your painting of Menandore I would happily put on my wall but this stuff is frankly uninspired - the Apt and Panek is flat-out ridiculous. Go back to your strengths my friend and understand that I say this as a fan of yours.

My impression was that Blend was small and lithe; Picker is bigger. I don't have the quote on hand, but when the Guild guy is following her in TtH, he thinks about her as the thick woman with the big ass or something.

For what it's worth, I completely disagree with Mal's post above. Experiment, evolve, and keep creating stuff as you want to create it. You don't get better if you don't explore.

But the guild guy doesn't know Picker is wearing full armor and carrying a crossbow under her heavy cloak in that scene.

I vaguely recall there's a description of Picker in GotM at the start, when Paran is looking for the BBs.

I agree tho', Blend is a smaller, lithe assassin/scout/knife-fighter type. Picker is warrior-woman tough/big, but not huge.

In OST ICE had them both becoming frumpy and fatter, which didn't really line up with TtH where they seemed to still be in fighting form.

This is real nice. Really like the detail on the breastplate and colours are working well. The chain skirt looks a bit flat and I'm not feeling the shadow shes casting. The border might be taking focus away from your picture too I thin, maybe tone it down or get rid of it. Also, Nobbs, I think you need to come up with a better signature. Keep drawing and posting.
