Basic Stuff

Days are 33 hours long.

Nights are instantaneous, but will take a while for the mods to resolve. Don't post on-thread about results from your NAs until the mods post that it is Day.

Reveal policy (unless otherwise stated in your role PM or by PS) - you can reveal whatever you want, but don't quote anything from PMs directly.

Modkill timer is 36 hours.




Multiple Lives, Multiple Roles (adapted from Mafia 64: Team Fortress 2 v2)

Each player is given a meta-role (ie: Eriksonian #4), consisting of 3 lives, 3 alts and 3 roles (ie: Finder, RI and the Marshmallow Man). Before the game begins, each player must put their roles in the order of their choice and inform PS. The player's first chosen role then becomes active and they have all of its abilities and limitations. You cannot change the order later. You may not post in the game thread until you have setup your roles via PM with Path-Shaper.

When a player dies, they are given a new alt and respawn with their next role at the next Dawn phase. After dying and before respawning, they cannot perform or be the target of any actions. Any remaining abilities, such as BPs, do not carry over to the new role (in a few circumstances there are benefits or limitations tied directly to a meta-role, which do carry over). When a player's roles have all died, they are eliminated from the game and can come to SH.

In the event that we run out of alts, some alts will end up getting repeated.

Furthermore, there could also be roles that change alts, manipulate alts, etc (ie an FM). If you try to login to your alt and can't, check the game thread and your main forum login!

Modkills, if imposed, may remove only one life and role of a player if the mods are feeling lenient. Or, the mods may choose to immediately remove the player from the game.



Role PMs

Every player will get one Meta-Role PM, telling them their faction, their meta-role and their 3 individual roles.

The individual roles are copied directly from the actual role PM from the original game itself. Many of them will be full of things that are not relevant in this game, but I kept them copied wholesale for immersion and laziness. If your role PM says your partner is [alt], that is probably a carry-over from the original game and not true anymore! Likewise, many PMs contain VCs but for Mafia 100 you should only follow the VCs listed below. In general, you should ignore everything except the abilities of your role PM. In many case, specific alterations/nullifications for Mafia 100 have been noted using strikethroughs and blue font. If you're unclear about something, don't be shy to ask!

When you die and start your next role in a new alt, we will copy over your original Meta-Role PM, but probably nothing else. So if there are PMs you really want to keep between alts, save them somewhere for yourself!



Action Submissions

Since we have so many roles active at once, many of which do not necessarily interlock all that well with the others, we will be playing with a variation of ironman rules.

Day Actions - Provisional actions for day abilities cannot be submitted. Day actions can only be submitted as final decisions, and will be resolved by the mods as soon as they can.

Night Actions - Nights are theoretically instantaneous, so all night abilities must be submitted before the end of the previous day. Submissions for night abilities are ironman, but you can include one alternate target per ability, with the sole condition being if the first specified target dies during the day or is lynched. For example, you can submit: "as my night action, I target alt X with Healing Catapults. If X is removed from the game by the end of the day, target Z." which you can shorten to just "Use healing catapults on X, if dead, Z." Once you have submitted this and the mods have "Noted" it, it is final and cannot be changed.




Factions

There are four factions and three independent roles:

• Esselmontarians (Town 1) ... a more traditional town (more basic roles, has RIs, larger numbers)
  
• Eriksonians (Town 2) ... more faction-like town, smaller but weirder and more powerful roles
  
• Goodkinders (Scum 1) ... traditional scum: paired killers, symp, lesser scum know leaders, more traditional scum roles
  
• Meyerns (Scum 2) ... oddball/faction-like scum: don't know each other as well, lots of weird roles
  
• The Serial Killer (Independent 1)
  
• The Survivor (Independent 2)
  
• The Jester (Independent 3)

Victory Conditions


Town factions:

• All Scum players are eliminated
• The Serial Killer is eliminated
• Have a majority of all living players during the Day phase

Scum factions:

• All Town players are eliminated
• The opposing scum faction is eliminated
• The Serial Killer is eliminated
• Have at least one surviving player

The Serial Killer:

• All other players are eliminated

The Survivor:

• Be alive when one of the town or scum factions wins the game

The Jester:

• Get lynched! Don't get NK'd!

Out of the four town or scum factions, only one faction can win. The Survivor and Jester can co-win with one of the factions and with each other.








Incremental CF (adapted from Mafia 89: Espers)

The Coroner Find posted on-thread after each role's death will become increasingly detailed for each of a player's deaths. The first will only state the alt and role, subsequent deaths will build to having all information (alt, role, player, faction).

First role dies: Meanas is dead. He was Mohinder Suresh.
Not-first and not-last role dies: Silanah is dead. She was innocent and Amee Najayin. ["innocent" for town players, "scum" for scum players, "an independent" for solo roles]
Last role dies: Galain (Hetan) is dead. He was an Eriksonian and a Ninja.

[use 'a' and 'the' before generic roles]
[he/she follows the alt, defeault 'he' for genderless alts]




Balance and Fun

This game is probably not super-well balanced. That would have taken waaaaaay more work. Some roles, specifically, are intended to be quite challenging, too. I have tried to make each faction/independent have a decent shot at winning, but with 60+ roles there are a million ways one faction could become quite dominant.

On the other hand, this game is really about having fun. Enjoy revisiting old roles and scenes and abusing them in new ways, or trying to guess what horrible threats are looming out there. Going through 3 roles per person is going to take a while, but you can afford to make a few mistakes so sit back, relax and enjoy yourself! Or try and cross some names off your list

All that being said, whoever emerges battered and bleeding from this chaosfest as the winner(s) will go down in mafia history with massive kudos and respect for overcoming the enormous obstacles that this game will put in your way.




Global Effects and Game Thread Messages


The Tax Collector
-At the start of every Day, announce that the Tax Collector must be paid 500 dinari
-(Does nothing)

The Nanman Rebellion (Rot3K)
-At the start of the game, state: Meng Huo has been captured 4 times.
-Each time Meng Huo is captured, post this message with the new count.
-When Meng Huo has been caught 7 times, announce on thread his rebellion is over.

Festival of the Squid (City of Saints and Madmen)
-The Festival of the Squid will take place on Night 7.
-The festival is not announced until the start of Day 7 (all rules are explained at that time).
-All innos, the survivor and the jester can either get a vig (usable only on that night) or a BP (stops 1 lethal action, only on that night).
-Each scum faction gets one shared BP that prevents a single lethal action (priority goes to lower-numbered meta-roles).
-The Serial Killer gets nothing.
-The vig/BPs can all be used in addition to any role's regular powers.

The Ship Lands (Aliens 2.0)
-At the start of day 3, announce "3 more days until the ship lands"
-At the start of day 4, announce "2 more days until the ship lands"
-At the start of day 5, announce "1 more day until the ship lands"
-After the day 5 lynch, announce "The Ship has landed!"
-Since there are no alien or Ripley roles in the game, there is no gameplay effect from this

The Matrix Reloads
-The Reload will happen when Neo (one of the Jester roles) dies, or if the Jester loses before becoming Neo it will happen 5 days after he loses.
-We'll do this at the start of day, no matter what. So even if Neo is lynched, we will just delay the lynch result/CF and reload scene until the last part of the night resolution.

Posts to Level Up (Spycraft)
-At the start of Day 1, announce "Everyone is level 0, 500 posts are required for level 1. (I will not be tracking this with each update like in the original game)"
-Once 500 posts have been reached, announced that all players will level up to level 1 at the end of the day.
-Don't repeat this on day 2 for level 2, it just stops unexpectedly
-This has no effect whatsoever, not even for the actual Spycraft roles, but it'll probably prompt a lot of spam (excellent!)

Tribal Council (Survivor)
-Tribal Council will occur on Day 10
-At the end of Day 9, announce that Tribal Council will occur on Day 10 and that players should try and get the Immunity Idol during the upcoming challenges (challenges = night 9 actions)
-The player who is targeted the most on night 9 without dying gets the Immunity Idol. It is never revealed how the Idol recipient was determined.
-Announce the rules of the Council at the start of Day 10
-There is no regular lynch on Day 10.
-All players must submit to P-S during the day a vote for one of their team members (they can submit a list and the first person on the list in their faction is voted for). The votes are Ironman (cannot be changed)
-Any player who does not vote gets their current role modkilled
-It is announced on thread after a player has voted (ie: "Meanas has voted")
-The role from each faction that receives the most votes is lynched
-The Jester, Survivor and Serial Killer vote amongst the 3 of them. This lynch *does* count as a lynch for the Jester.

Avatar Korra must survive, Republic City must have at least one member alive/retaining their bending abilities when Amon dies.

Mechanics

-Each night everyone can target another player.
-Targetting a player above you results in your death.

Note - The first and third of every school can talk off thread at all times. Every member of the school knows the name of the first and the third.

For Mafia 100:

You know that the Esselmont #3 player is Kedeviss/Aparal Forge/Liosan. While this role is active, you can communicate with him/her off-thread.

Each night you can target another player. If they are the #1 player of their faction, nothing happens. If they are the #2 player of their faction, you vig them. If they are #3 or below, you guard them. If they are the Serial Killer, you die. If they are the Survivor or Jester, nothing happens.

Only the Serial Killer can kill you alone.

You can also die if targeted by a #1 player's lethal action in the same phase as another #1 or #2 player's lethal action.

Any other players' attempts to kill you will fail (at no penalty to the attacker). Other abilities, including recruitment, can still affect and succeed on you.

What was left of Team Avatar decided it was time to start concentrating on other members of the Equalist organization. Asami Sato was particularly interested in stopping her father, who had been confirmed as an Equalist supporter. Asami hijacked a mecha tank from her father's arsenal and began destroying Equalist aircraft. Hiroshi confronted his daughter in another mecha tank. He scolded her for going against him and exclaimed that she was beyond saving. He then proceeded to attack her, but Asami fought earnestly. Hiroshi was knocked down by his daughter, but she was very hesitant to hurt him. Hiroshi used this momentary distraction to knock Asami back down. As the businessman prepared to finish her off, Korra and Lin Beifong, the disgraced ex-Police chief, rode in on Naga and flung earth projectiles at Hiroshi's mecha using their bending abilities and yelling that he was a horrible father. Amon, seemingly forever present, jumped out of the shadows, knocking Korra and Lin Beifong off Naga. He then grabbed Lin Beifong, affixed his two thumbs to the centre of her forehead and left her lying in a heap.

Tenzin is dead

His mind small as it is, cannot cope with the awesome disco groove, and his eyes explode in their sockets as the gyrations take a turn for the dirty.

The dance continues, around and around the screaming norwegian, pummelling him with syncronisity as staying alive blares out with ironic beat.

After escaping Zhao Yun's fury, Cen Pi raced back to Fan Yang and gathered together the remnants of all three armies into the city. Geng Bao, one of his advisors, suggested that with Zhao Yun leading Gongsun's cavalry on their own borders, Zan's own encampments would be vulnerable to a surprise attack. "Geng Bao speaks my thoughts!" declared Cen Pi. Leaving a sizeable garrison behind, the army set out for Gongsun Zan's stronghold at Yu Yang. Cen Pi had cavalry commander Gui Yuanjin take a regiment of elite cavalry to continuously harass Zhao Yun's forces without engaging the enemy completely. This succeeded in keeping the mighty Zhao Yun away from the main battle.

The army reached Yu Yang midway through the morning. Mobiel catapults were immediately deployed to hurl flaming debris into the town while the infantry formed up to storm the walls. As Cen Pi had planned, the defenders were unprepared for the sudden arrival of his army and the walls were quickly breached. Crack troops made their way through the city to force open the main gates and soon Cen Pi's army was pouring into the city where the defenders fought a desperate retreat to the north gate. By mid-day the last remnants of Gongsun Zan's troops were fleeing into the hills. Cen Pi left Gui Yuanjin in charge of repairing and garrisoning the town, then took most of the army back to Fan Yang.

As they approached Fan Yang, Cen Pi addressed his commanders, "Geng Bao's brilliant mind has brought us a great victory today! Let him wear my own golden surcoat and ride at the head of our column into the city to receive the praise of the citizenry!" So, Geng Bao, wearing the Field Marshall's surcoat, lead the army through the gate to Fan Yang. He was ten paces inside when dozens of arrows sped from the wall, piercing the advisor and his horse. A moment later a man appeared on the wall. He was eight spans tall, and as broad as an ox. Brandishing Geng Bao's severed head, he shouted "Your meagre cavalry force is slaughtered, your encampments are taken and now your Field Marshall is dead! Submit, fools!"

Cen Pi rode up and shouted back "Don't count your bamboo stalks unless you've split them yourself, Gongsun Zan, you haven't got me yet!" Enraged, Gongsun Zan flung the head at Cen Pi and shouted orders to the soldiers behind him. The gates swung close and archers began firing at Cen Pi's troops. The Field Marshall pulled his forces out of arrow range and had them immediately begin encircling the city with defensive encampments.

On the walls, Gongsun Zan surveyed Cen Pi's camp contruction and thought, you cannot keep running from my ploys, Cen Pi, this will do nothing but delay my triumphant arrival in Luo Yang!

Cen Pi is dead.

Bill could not help but find his eyes misting over as he recited the story from memory to his daughter. B.B. loved the story so much. Bill had been telling it to her since she was an infant and almost four years later, she still loved to hear it.

Of course, B.B. was not stupid. She knew the tale involved her own mother, and had asked on several occasions when mom would wake up. Bill could only smile and say the same thing every time.

"Soon, B.B. Mommy will be here soon." His eyes filled with pools of hot tears and he blinked them away, feeling their burning trails forge two separate paths down the contours of his weathered face.

Continuing his story, Bill thought back to what he had done to redacted and how it wasn't fair to her for him to cause this additional misery to her. But he had no choice. redacted would be here, eventually, and would want to take B.B. with her.

"And they rode off into the sunset, and lived happily ever after."

B.B. smiled, rose, and gave Bill a kiss. "Thank you, Daddy, she said" closing her eyes peacefully and laying back against a pillow. The covers were pulled over her.

Bill rose and grabbed another spare pillow, from the floor nearby.

"Daddy, why are you crying?" B.B. asked, as Bill could barely hold in his sobs at this point.

"I'm just... I'm so sad, B.B... I'm so sorry, honey."

He picked up the pillow and slowly lowered it onto B.B.'s face. The child looked horrified as she saw the object come down.

"Daddy!" Daddy!" she screamed, her cries heavily muffled by the large down material suffocating her. Bill wept openly now, his tears no longer a secret. It wasn't long until the cries stopped and B.B. stopped thrashing. Bill stood above her, his hands limp on the pillow. It was now stained, perhaps irrevocably, by his tears.

"I'm so sorry, B.B..." he whispered, before adding, "And I'm so sorry... Beatrix."

"Ah hem. Gentlemen?" alt146 and Shinrei look over at HoosierDaddy, who has silently been watching the previous scene. Only instead of seeing the BLU Pyro that was on their team, they see a lanky man in a well-worn suit, his face covered in a ski mask.

"I'm afraid partaking in that little "skirmish" will be the second worst thing to happen to you today." HoosierDaddy smirks at the two BLU team mates, who suddenly realize what has happened.

"Gaaah..." mutters alt146.

"Uh oh..." moans Shinrei.

BANG. A bullet cleanly finds its way into alt146's skull. He falls over backwards.

The BLU Medic is dead.

You stalk through the corridors, men in tow, and in your midst, a tiny slip of a girl who looks rather out of place amidst all these bloodspattered marines. Then, at a cross-section, your little band is charged from the right by a bleeding hulk of a thing, one arm gone, blood vessels still leaking blood. It takes out the few remaining warriors you have left, and as you empty your gun into it's mandibled face, you realize it won't be enough. Then, out of the darkness, an alien comes sailing, in a jump that makes this hideous creature seem almost graceful. Talons and teeth rake the predator, rend flesh, tear it apart. You slam an extra clip into your rifle, and indiscriminately fire into the two fighting titans.

Finally, the giant predator topples over, blood spurting from a score of deep, deep wounds. The alien comes with it. It is brighter, there's a terrible, cold, calculating intelligence in the way it takes in the surroundings, and in the way it turns its head to you, you know you are dealing here with a more advanced form. Could this be The Bitch, that fast, murderous cold hearted killer alien that has eluded you at every turn? You feel for another clip at your belt, find it's empty. Then, your hands close around a grenade. You take one look at Newt, standing there... and hope the blast radius won't extend that far...

You pull out the pin, dive forward. Pushing your arm into the alien queen's maw is the hardest thing you ever did, but thankfully, it's short as her jaws bite down and sever it just below the elbow. As you bleed to death and the queen struggles to rise, crippled by her fight with the predator, you smile.

"See you in hell, bitch."

Then, the world turns orange, and blissfully black and cool immediately after.

"Here you are, lass. Now, mind you don't tell the missus about this!" Vyrn the baker had married well and made a life for himself in Danig, but he well recalled being a homeless street urchin in his youth. If his wife caught him giving away a loaf of bread again she'd be smacking him with a rolling pin for weeks, but Vyrn accepted that risk. The girl standing in the alley in front of him looked like she hadn't eaten in days. Her short brown hair was ragged and everything from her jacket to her boots had holes and tears in them. Despite this, she had smiled and waved at him as soon as he stepped into the alley to dump the garbage and had immediately launched into the kind of one-sided friendly inquisition only a teenage girl can achieve. When Vyrn gave her the bread her eyes watered with joy and she nearly tackled him with a big hug. He patted her head and then shoo'd her off, then went back inside to mix up a new loaf.

As it baked, he took a look out the front windows of the bakery and his heart leaped into his throat. The girl from the alley now sat in a gutter across the street, sitting side-by-side and chatting with Akalo, the legless beggar. Everyone in Danig knew that Akalo was an unabashed pedophile, but they let him live his miserable existance since in the same night he'd been discovered molesting the mayor's niece a Jhorligg had ripped his legs off. Every child in Danig knew what he was and it wasn't like he could still chase after them if they ran away, anyways. Realizing now that the girl hadn't quite spoken in a Danig accent and cursing himself for not warning her, Vyrn rushed out the door to intervene. He'd barely taken a single step onto the street when the girl leaned over to rip off another piece of bread and Akalo suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist and clamped the other hand over her mouth.

Next, Akalo probably would have started pushing himself with the stumps of his thighs towards the nearest alley, but before he could make another move the girl had bitten his hand, kicked a knee into one of his stumps and thrown her hardest punch into his balls. In the next split second, Akalo tried to flinch back and double over at the same time while the girl rolled out of his grip and sent a hard kick straight into his chin, knocking his head back into the bricks of the building behind him. Vyrn, shocked, had skidded to a stop half-way across the street and was close enough to hear her shout "I thought you were nice!" at the unconscious Akalo before scooping up her bread and running off down the street. She ran for two blocks before a passing farmer on a wagon caught her eye, then Vyrn saw her walk up to the wagon and introduce herself to this next stranger...

As the night fell, the remaining four gathered, the various kinds of interference being consumed by a Chaos Warp storm.
the morning revealed only two survivors, Alkend and ampelas, their true, monstrous demonic forms revealed. the Gifst of Tzeench made them into mighty Daemon princes, and their combined might was no match for the hapless Vindcare Assassin and his remaining Servitors. Their still-living bodies were pinned up on giant 8-pointed stars to open the path for the legions of Chaos.

Tzeench upheld his end of the bargain--he delivered the WEbway to Slaanesh. her hordes of Noise marines flooded it, but were deceived once again my the Eldar trickery, winding their way into the heart of the Dark Eldar fortresses instead.

The Tyranid Hiuve fleet, having never received the beacon it waited for, departed, pressing wfurther into Imperial space, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.

Olympia 7 was lost to the forces of Chaos, forming a beachher from which the hertics launched constant incursion into outlying systems.

Medic is dead.

The adventurers had been reluctant at first to get too close to the crystalline ball, but it had not reacted when the young boy from the group ran up and placed his bare hand upon it. After that they had all stepped forward to touch it and agreed they would share its sale, but even with a pair of muscled treasure hunters, a Jheck warrior and a fully-grown Fenn they couldn't move the sphere so much as an inch. For half a bell they tried every trick to dislodge it and then another half a bell trying to break the altar under it, but not a scrap of progress was made. Those who had struggled with the orb sat panting in the center of the room while the rest of the crowd mingled around the domed chamber chatting and examining the wall panels.

Among the adventurers was a man of very dark skin, wrapped in a black cloak, who wore black gloves and black boots. His hair was - you guessed it - black. No one had yet spoken more than a few words to him, since he sneered at anyone who approached. Now his eyes fixated on a young Theftian girl in tattered clothes who was chatting away near the orb. He stepped forward, threw back his cloak (revaling a black shirt and black pants) and shouted a short stream of words too fast to understand. The girl understood enough to take it as a flirtation and immediately rejected the man. Confused, the man babbled incoherently for a few moments before pulling out two long knives from his belt sheaths and lunging forward. The girl was surprised and didn't react for several heartbeats. A master assassin would have used those moments to plant the knives, re-sheath them and disappear before any reaction was possible.

This man was not a master assassin.

He awkwardly swung himself forward so slowly that the girl nearly had enough time to throw herself to the side and out of the killer's reach. The assailant pushed himself far enough forward that his leading knife sliced through the girl's's stomach and then lost his balance and stumbled forward while the girl fell to the ground clutching her gaping chest wound. Arms and knives flailing helplessly, legs tangled in his victim's, the killer stumbled forward for a few frantic steps until he crashed into the crystal sphere. As his body was suddenly halted his arms flew forward, one gripped long-knife swinging around to slice a deep gash across the side of his own neck, the other long-knife jamming itself to the hilt in the pulsing ball of rock.

Fener is dead. He was Mekin Zikulka.
Eloth is dead. She was Amee Najayin.

Amee Najayin is dead.

The onlookers had the time between one heartbeat and the next to stare at the scene in complete silence and then the sphere exploded outward. Shrapnel flew, knocking to the ground those too slow to have ducked. Through the flying shrapnel and through closed eyelids, and even through hands covering faces, the adventurers saw three bright flashes of light - one blue, one red and the last a deep, sickly purple. After the final flare of colour faded away, the adventurers lay wounded and moaning in complete and utter darkness...

Quote

A rather timid looking townsperson gazes myopically a streetside stall. He rather indiscretely scratches at a rather discrete region while trying to remember if the pus yellow fungus made him more or less sick than the puke green one, since noone seemed to have any of the snot grey.

The slapping of sandals makes him spin around, as a bedraggled, beleagured and all together out-of-sorts looking man runs past. The bystander is then quite unceremonously knocked over by a large crowd carrying various farm implements, several lengths of hanging cord and, inexplicably, a baguette. Crawling through the crowd in the faint hope of actually eating some bread, he overhear's cries of "Him and Rashan must be lover-killers!", "The PAF does not condone behaviour of this kind!", "Are we chasing the squiggly blue line guy?" and "Spammers must die! Low posters too! And middle posters, just to safe." .

Someone stands on the bystander's fingers as the crowd slowly converges on the runner. Just then the runner throws his robe into the air, revealing machetes, knives, crossbows, a longsword and something noone can quite identify, but nonetheless looks painful.

Everyone steps back, this time resulting in a heel to the kidneys. The runner looks around and screams "Kessobahn! Your stupidity has gone one for too long. I do now what your father should have". A collective intake of breath follows as the assassin jumps into the air. Liosan Gamelon mumbles something about also being a ninja, fingering his cardboard shuriken. A confusing, bloody and quite possibly impossible set of actions follow, the end result of which is Kessobahn lying in several pieces all over the street.

Someone in the crowd yells - "Assassin, get him!" and the crowd surges forward. The assassin spins around and says "I can explain! You see I'm a GOOD assa-".

Unfortunately he doesnt have a chance to finish his sentence, as a thrown squid hits him square in the face. Desperately the assassin claws at his head, but the squid, now roused to anger, is having none of it. Slowly it squeezes its tentacles around the assassins neck. Through the squid's translucent skin, the assassins face turns a curious shade of blue. To add to the indignancy, an ink stain runs down the front of the assassin's shirt.

Stilled by the bizzare spectacle, the crowd steps back. The assassin finaly keels over, squid-first into the mud. The squid then rather calmy lays it's eggs on the assassin's head and slinks off into the swamp.

In the distance a rather trampled looking figure flees into the distance, his siloutte marred by the shape of a long loaf of something edible.

He couldn't argue with such a powerful sentiment, especially one he shared so intimately with a poet long dead. To know Kyoto was to love her. The history and weight of purpose the city possessed, stole the heart and soul of all who would open themselves to feelings beyond shallow sentiment. The ancient capital created a longing for something lost, a longing for the beauty, even in those who had never lost, or themselves had no taste in beauty.

He picked up his long sword and left the inn. As he reached the marketplace, the signs of commotion were evident. A body was lying next to a stall selling mountain pears. Men of Choshu, he recognized from the Ikeda-ya, were standing about the body muttering.

"He must be Shinsengumi."
"He talked too much about each of us. Impugning our characters."
"He spoke of his betters in a manner unbefitting of a follower of sonno joi."

They moved aside as Katsura strode towards the group. As Katsura reached the circle of men he stopped. After a brief glance, he turned away. "Who struck him down?"
One of the men answered, "After proclaiming his love for the Emperor, he slit his own belly with his short sword. A noble gesture, or an easy way out, we don't know which."

"A noble gesture." Katsura stated flatly. "That's Muto, Daigoro- san." He was with me when I first departed the southern island. Be sure you take care of his body in the proper manner." Katsura gazed off at the setting sun as the rest bent their heads in brief prayor.

The group stood in silence then, watching the retreating form of Katsura Kogoro, just as the final rays of sun slipped behind the Higashi mountains.

Daigoro Muto is dead.

The festivities of the night before had hardly been impacted by the prince's retaliation: the villagers were in an uproar, and every single one of them was trying to contribute.
"Hey guys," one of them said. "I was rummaging around with my partner, looking for spies, and look what I came across in Emurlahns hovel?"
"No?"
"A pizza box."
"Woooooh." the others replied, clearly in awe. Anything that wasn't bread, dairy, cabbage, tomatoes or mushrooms was foreign, and pizza was foreign enough - even if it was bread topped with tomato sauce, mushrooms and grated cheese.
"Ehm, wait a second, what were you doing in Emurlahn's hovel? I mean..." one of them said, shuffling his feet.
"And what does that pizza box signify? I mean, I have ordered pizz-" another said, before being shut up by his wife, who then hissed: "only once!"
"Good questions. You see, on the sign for delivery line, it clearly said Vizzini!" He points at a few ink stains."You all know I have travelled, and I thought there was something wrong with Emurlahn's accent. It sounded mediterranean. So, I decided to hunt for proof, as I have done on numerous occassions so far. Any missing items in your hovel can be attributed to that. Don't worry, I'll give you back your possessions ehm, eventually, in the not so near future. Anyways, we all know that the Prince hired that sneaky Sicilian. Who eat pizza's? Italians. Where is Sicily? In Italy. And Emurlahn has a mediterranean accent. Now, which sea surrounds Sicily?"
"I don't know," one said. Another scratched his head, with the vacant look of a sheep in his eyes, but well, people also say dog owners tend to resemble their dogs after a few years, and this particualr individual had a few sheep (one of which had disappeared a few nights before), so what was odd in that? However, the majority knew he was right then.
"Good points! Let's burn his hovel down while he is still sleeping!"
"Ehm, while that sounds logical and all... Why should we believe you?"
"He's a linguisisionalist and an investogatoraptor and he said we, so he works together with one of us, who will back him up. and anyway, lingosocialists come in damned handy!" another said, "that's enough for me right now... He lies, we lynch him!"


And with that, a plan was born, a mob was gathered, and Emurlahn's hiding place approached, who was rather surprised to see them all standing there.
"What are you doo-ink," he asked.
"See, Mediterranean accent!" one townsperson shouted.
"Of course, you idiotic morons! I am Inigo Montoya, I am from Spain, which is in the mediterranean!"
"Crowded place," one villager mumbled.
"So you are not Vizzini?"
"Do I look like a Sicilian?" he asked, rapier in hand.
"You are armed."
"I went out and assassinated senor Shadow for being shady. It is what I do. Face to face, mano a mano. You are being tricked, and quite probably by that man Rugen!"

What happened then was anyone's guess, as town seemed divided on the issue, but a body was strung up as a result.

Inigo Montoya is dead

Quote

The night was quiet, but far from empty. Silent sparks of magical disharge flickered randomly through the air. Those not caught in the concentration of spell-casting lay in bed, praying to survive the night.

Eventually morning breaks, not a moment too soon by anyone's reckoning. The tired monks once again assemble in the central courtyard. It seems some of their number are missing. A search begins, rooms are visited, grisly discoveries made: A corpse - eyes bugling, muscles taught, veins standing out like ropes. Stuck in the throes of obvious agony, his corpse cannot fit through the door. Another corpse, seemingly at peace. Except for the neat, almost surgical incision from clavicle to crotch. He too is left in place, the smell of exposed bowels too much for any of the monks to bear. Once again, everyone congregates. The loathesome Shapers are obviously still present. They must be found.

Not only that but someone also sewn up the Tailor. It almost looked like they are a lifesized doll with the button eyes and the meticulous stitching all up and down their body. Like they were trying to keep the stuffing in. That could also explain way some other body parts were sewn shut at well.

Things have definately took a turn for the worse for the poor people of the hamlet.

Of course the emissary then shot him with an arrow.

1) If the leader is targeted by a night action of an opposing faction the same night he choses his victim, he will be able to kill any player the following night (Leader targets Ruse on night 1 but is simultaneously targeted by the enemy Serc. The following night, instead of killing Ruse, the leader can pick any player to kill)

2) If the leader is targeted the same night he uses his night kill, he is distracted from his purpose and his action fails. However, he will be able to commit a day kill the following day. The day kill comes into effect as soon as it's registered by a mod. A day kill does not end the day.

3) If the player a leader is targeting for a night kill is targeted by another player, the leader kills the targeting player instead. A 1) action's immune to the effects of 3), meaning that if the leader is already targeting someone not of his factions as made possible through 1), he'll ignore the effect of 3).

If several players target the player under 3), the one to act first is killed. So a Guard before a healer before a finder before a vig and so on.

The members of you team are atrahal, alkend, Rashan, Tennes. You will know them all while this role is active.

Marc Anthony, panicking, shoves the senate leader off his dais and rushes out the exit. The senate leader lands on a very pointy hat.

"Like you've got problems", Telas retorts. He spins and points an angry finger at Tellan who's unsuccessfully trying to hide behind a nearby shrub.
"That guy's been lighting my underwear on fire every fucking night". He looks around, shaking with rage.
"Have you any idea what burning underwear smells like after more than a week of no showers?".

"Like you guys have anything to complain about!" Alkend pipes in.
"That guy, Galain I think his name was, I shared bunk with was so massive there hardly was room for us both. And he shaved with a two feet long fucking machete! When I woke up in the morning he would sit at his chair patiently cleaning his blade. Man was a poor shaver too, he always seemed to have cut himself." Alkend shook his head.
"Never saw him without that mask. Always figured he was sort of peculiar."

"I've got my room all to myself!" Ampelas exclaims happily. A wide smile covers his face as he turns around to share his joy with the others. Surprisingly, they do not seem quite as enthusiastic about this as he feels they should.

"You've got your own room, you say?" Rashan strokes his massive beard almost erotically, thinking hard.
"Say, Ampelas. If you were to.. I don't know.. Die.. Could I hypothetically have your room?"
"I suppose.." Ampelas frowns, confusion touching his simple brow.
"And what about me" Cries Telas.
"If you were, again hypothetically, to stumble and impale yourself on some sharp object, like..umh.. a knife.. Could I share your room with Rashan?"
".. I guess" says Ampelas, perhaps starting to sense a shift in the crowd. A smart man might sense the burgeoning excitement. The burn of blood lust as six pair of eyes focus unblinkingly on his feminine self would've been recognized for what they meant by a smart man.
"That would be so cool!" Ampelas claps his hands excitedly.
"We could have slumber parties. Tell ghost stories. Play cards!" There are tears in his eyes now.
"No wanted to play with me before"

The group shares a look between them and simultaneously blots their teeth in what Ampelas considered to be welcoming smiles.
"Yeeeeesss" purrs Mockra.
"Let us play".

The selection board at the publisher was not very interested, however. They believed that this story not only sounded like it was crappy (like the rest of the franchise), but that it also wouldn't sell well. They were about to dismiss her when a man wearing a sombrero and a trench coat burst into the boardroom. As he finished his declaration, he struck a pose that unfortunately involved both arms flung outwards at the sky. Mutely, one of the publishing executives slid forward a contract and Stephanie signed it without taking her eyes off of the many self-inflicted scars adorning this man's genitalia.
"C'mon, we've got work to do!" said the stranger, and he put his arm around Stephanie, then started leading her out of the boardroom.
One of the executives shouted after him "You've saved us, great sir! You are very kind to do this for her."

The man stopped and looked back over his shoulder.

The stranger proceeds to sit down in the mud in front of the stall.

"Well, because there's a crossbow bolt sticking out from it."

Sure enough, the prized apple is pinned to the stall by a wicked looking bolt.

"I cant imagine why you decided to decorate your stall in such a gloomy manner, but you've certainly been thorough. Although I must admit, the feathers are rather fetching"

Looking down, the stall keeper realises that his stall is bristling with crossbow bolts.

"wha..."

The stall keeper looks up, to see that the stranger is lying face first in the mud. Knowing the mud around here, not the most hygenic of posistions. Which is in anycase a moot point, considering the large crossbow bolt sticking out the back of the stranger's head.

"aagh"

The stall keeper picks up his crate, bolts and all, and hurriedly shambles off into an alley.

"I think I better go check on the wife..."

If they have off-thread communications, you will get a copy of their off-thread comm from the preceding day. If the target has multiple off-thread communications, I will order their lover partners' alts alphabeitcally and you will get the one that matches the number you submitted. If your number is higher than the amount of lover convos they have, I will round it down. (ie: if you submit number 2 and the target is lovers with Ampelas, Okaros, and Merrid, you will get their conversation with Merrid. If you submit number 12, you will get Okaros)

If you get bored of sitting in a hot ass room smoking inferior cigarettes and looking at the burqa catalog you can flip a switch, turn a knob and your radio becomes a bomb which you can strap on and become a martyr. You may do this by PM'ing the name of one player you want to suicide bomb (you die too) during the DAY. The two of you die and you get your rivers of honey and 72 virgins....you hope. This ends day immediately.

For the purposes of this game you are town, but still a non-denominational heathen.

You catch a flurry of movement...one of you darts across the room, finger over the detonator taped to your wrist. There is a flash of light and an ear-deafening explosion.

Who was it? The corpse is beyond recognition. Who was caught in the blast? You bend over the remmants of the aftermath. A single scrape on the rubble of the floor gives away the figure behind you too late. He grabs your hand and twists the fingers until they all break. You want to press your detonator, but can't the pain cripples you and you fall to your knees. The burqa you are wearing is no match as steel meets your throat. Blood streams down and you gurgle one last word.

On a pleasant summer evening, an innkeeper in Grist was surprised to see a very dark woman dressed in desert robes come into the inn and ask for a room. He told her he wasn't keen on serving her type ever since rumours of the Seven Cities uprising had begun. She told him she had fled the continent long ago and wanted no part in that, and pushed across two Imperial crowns. His greed overcame his prejudice and the innkeeper accepted her story, but in the morning while she was taking her breakfast he snuck upstairs to her room hoping to find more of her coin. He found the room empty, at which point he recalled that she had not carried in any traveling packs the night before. Turning to go, he noticed a light-coloured grit scattered upon the bed sheets.

The innkeeper rushed downstairs and shouted at the woman that she had to pay him to clean the sand from the mattress, which would cost him at least another ten crowns. She argued against the ridiculousness of his claim, but the common room was packed with pale-skinned native Gristians who were all turning her scowls and evil eyes. Backing down from what could become a very one-sided fight, she paid the innkeeper the exorbant sum and left.

The innkeeper gave everyone a free round of his cheapest wine and smiled to himself all day and all night... until the next morning when he found the door of the vault in his office lying open. He had only a brief few moments to stare at the now-empty vault before a hammering on the door preceeded the city's constabulatory barging into the inn. The captain of the watch said something about a dying woman giving them a tip while his men broke the lock into the innkeeper's cellar. Within they found hidden amongst the wine several bottles of illegal narcotics and a jar containing the same kind of poison that had been used to assassinate a nobleman three weeks past. The innkeeper could only stare, dumbfounded, at the bottles, which he would continuously profess he had never seen in his life, despite them being locked in his cellar. The local magistrate didn't believe a word he said and he was hanged less than a week later.

But each night you can also teleport to the proximity of 1 chosen player, so you can observe him/her. This will give you information about which character a certain alt is.
If you happen upon Sylar, you will automatically attack him and wipe his current abilities.
If you happen upon Adam Monroe, you will automatically disable him for 1 mafia day and night. He won't be able to post, vote or use his night attacks. But he can't be killed during that time.

You win when Peter Petrelli wins. If you are killed by Sylar, you win when he wins. If you're captured by the company, you can't use your abilities, but you win when the company wins.

Giving you updates for every alt in the game would be a nightmare, so this will be altered slightly:

You can still do a find of another player's role name once each night.
Each day, pick any alt that you have done a successful find on (even if they have died since then) - you go back in time and learn what night actions they have used each night throughout the game.
If you do a find on Sylar, you automatically will wipe out any abilities he has absorbed and will try to vig him.

Galayn Lord slid up next to a frightened Barghast nervously clutching a bloodied pipe-wrench. "You can escape this, Barghast! Join me on the gray side of the fungus! All you have to do is kill one of these civilians. It'd be soooo easy..."
Barghast debated fretfully as the Mantis Shrimp fleet drew closer and closer, but finally relented. Casually moving behind the group, now all staring fearfully at the Helicoctopusters, he rasied the pipe-wrench over his head and brought it down with all his strength upon the nearby fire-hydrant. A spew of carnivorous scarab beetles gushed forth straight into Liosan and after three heartbeats there was nothing left but bones.

As the survivors turned to face Barghast, Galayn Lord stepped up, clapped his hands and the ground caved in beneath the pair. As gray mushroom-men emerged to quickly fill in the tunnel, Eloth ran forward, tearing off all his clothes to reveal a body covered in freshly inked ritual tatoos of the Caliphate, but also now swarming with red and purple fungus. Plunging into the hole, the gawkers on the street heard a faint "So long suckers!" echo back towards them before the hole was filled in completely.

The whine of engines returned the group's attention to the impending onslaught of buzzsaws, bullets and flamethrowers bearing down on them. And then there was pain.

Frederick Madnok is dead.
