I was reading a thread about the Apocalypse on Reddit and there was a discussion on what leads to the Age of Apocalypse.

As far as I recall in the original story it was Legion, Xaviers son, killing his father in the past... and something about a broken M'Kraan krystal??? ... that lead to the Age of Apocalypse.

So, do we think that Xavier dies in Days of Future Past and that leads to Magneto becomming the leader of the X-men?

Or do they go with Cable comming back through time with a warning? That doesn't really work as well with out Cyclops and Phoenix there to flip their shit.

But then that'll lead to Ian McKellen getting it on with Anna Paquin and that would be weirrrrrrd.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Any word on Night Crawler? He has always been my fav character.

They left him out of DoFP but are considering him for Apocalypse.

I'm still waiting for a good Galactus movie.
Would be super cool. But does anyone else also think the Phalanx/Technocracy could make a cool adversary for an X-Men picture. Hollywood does have the technology today to make them look cyberorganically gorgeous.

Saw this tonight.

Everything you've heard is right.

This movie is effing PHENOMENAL from start to finish. I have NO complaints.

Two things:

1. One Quicksilver scene (you'll know the one when it happens) is worth the price of admission alone.

2. Stay till after the credits to see

Thoroughly enjoyable movie. Good plot, executed well. Enjoyed the few nods and jokes interspersed throughout. Need someone to explain to me how kitty pride can suddenly send peoples minds back in time though. The one flaw of the movie is that it acknowledges that X-men 1-3 exist. Great way to reboot the series though.

Kitty can displace her own atoms in space and time (a quantum tunneling if you will) to slip between those of the world around her. Byt the future flung beginning of X:DOFP her abiltiies are ten fold. As an extension of her ability to have those who she is touches/holding phase with her through objects...the time travel thing is basically pushing that quantum displacement, her manipulation ofher own and other people's bodies to the atomic level allows her to phase Wolvie's mind back in time to his past body. I imgaine it's a concentration thing. In the comics she's spends like ten years "phased" and in limbo on purpose, and actively has to choose to return to the physical world, so her skill level at control would be exacting.

Actually, the best thing this movie does is make it so that at the end of it only X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST exist now. The timeline for X-MEN, X-MEN: UNITED, X-MEN: LAST STAND, and both WOLVERINE movies have been wiped away by the events in DOFP. So moving forward into X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, I imagine we get to see the FIRST CLASS mutants fight him, and Wolverine will now be involved with Xavier and Co. WAY earlier than he intially did in 2000's X-MEN. Clever Ret-con!

I don't think anyone who thinks they are an expert in quantum physics is but that does not sound right. Still its comic science and I will accept it.

yes that's exactly what I meant by a great reboot.

Phsyics Professor James Kakalios has explained Kitty's powers from the angle of Quantum Mechanics. You're welcome to investigate his research for a much better explanation than mine.

For phasing through walls in fine, for phasing a consciousness back in time I think there are problems.

Considering that no one has ever time travelled, I'd wager that we can't know one way or the other enough to make that judgement.

I liked how they did it on LOST: http://angelocomets-...ime-travel.html

You'd be better off wondering how Wolverine's body has an innate connection to the Dimension of Meat if you're going to nitpick comicbook science.

My nitpick here is not with the comc science its that they gave a new power that is central to the plot to an old mutant. They could have solved the problem in a hundred different ways that did not lead me to checking wikipedia to see if Kitty pryde always had that power.

Since the acknowledged X3 I'm wondering how the put Xaivrr back in his body.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how was X3 acknowledged in DoFP? I'm new to this lore, so I must have missed it. I have watched X1-3 though, so no need to explain too much.

The only thing I can think of is Kelsey Grammar's appearance at the end as grown up Beast. But I don't consider that an acknowledgement.

Wolverine has several memory flashbacks and they use footage from Xmen 1-3 wen he does so.
