SPOILERS

I've read about a 100 pages and I'm enjoying it so far. The new characters are interesting and fun to read about. The pace is nice, quite a bit of switching between different storylines, but most of them with familiar characters, so it's quite easy to follow it all. It's difficult to say a lot more without spoilers, so for those who are interested, a few spoilers :
Spoiler

The map of Jacuruku is rather "simple" (not too detailed) compared to some other maps we have seen.

My book store just get them early, had OST 1 week early to.

Read it now.
I liked it.
They may cut your dick in half
And serve it to a pig
And though it hurts, you'll laugh
And dance a dickless jig

Reading mine, as usual enjoying his more straightforward story driven style. Two mages I really like.

Is Skinner a POV character in this? Somewhat disappointed with him in previous ICE books.

Really? How is it possible they include the
Spoiler
without him. Especially after the end of OST.

Because this book probably takes place at the same time as OST and TCG based on the blurb.

In Toll The Hounds, it is mentioned that Anomander Rake was involved in a conflict on Jacuruku.

Later on, in the same book, we meet Skamar Ara, leader of the Jacuruku legions under Hood, during the battle in Dragnipur.

I'm curious if Esslemont mentions Anomander Rake and Skamar Ara, for their role in Jacuruku history. Probably not.

And what about the four remaining clans of the Bentract T'lan Imass on Jacaruku, trapped within the Warren of Chaos?

Mine came today too!

Just off to get a start on it.

It looks a bit bigger than Esslemonts previous books (well page count wise about the same but smaller text)

Any chance of the Dramatis Personae? Posted Image Or at least some of the more interesting appearances.

Argh. I won't get my hands on it until Saturday, it feels so far away.

I forgot id pre ordered it and came home from the girlfriends and it was sitting there. Was a kind of wtf moment!

Erm not really any recognisable Malazans but there are a few Ascendants we know and some Crimson Guard. First post in the thread pretty much sums up dramatis pesonae without giving away too many names.

Will post more once ive had a chance to get a decent way through it!

Also Its quite a small Continent........

Feed then or perish. Life is but a search for gardens and gentle refuge, and here I sit waging the sweetest war, for I shall not die while a single tale remains to be told. Even the gods must wait spellbound.

583 pages (more but the rest are glossaries) and 42 lines roughly per page!

It is a pain in the neck at times living here in the Czech Republic, because I will have to wait for it to be published as an ebook and for amazon to carry it......time time time.
