When you call sexual harassment (which according to employees was ANOTHER fucking "open secret"....ugh) "missteps" you've lost the goddamned plot. to ACTUALLY deal with your past you need to actually admit it for what it is. That he calls it missteps shows how much he misunderstands what he's done and is treating it like it's just him driving the wrong way on a one way street. No, you abused people you worked with. I am more than a little miffed that we haven't seen much coming out of the music industry. We know it's every bit as dirty as the movie industry. Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 semi-recent pop songs that are clearly autobiographical about the respective (female) singers' rise to fame that offhandedly reference how they were or would expect to be promised fame and fortune in exchange for sex. I feel so bad that Kesha had to go through everything she had to, then get slagged so hard for standing up for herself. There were some weaksauce mumblings of vague support from pop stars who probably KNEW first hand what a creep that guy was, but there was no #MeToo for her. You could tell everyone was too scared to rock the boat. I have so much respect for her for sticking to her guns for as long as she did at significant cost to her career. She came forward too soon.

The silence on the music front is deafening.

Hugely agree. Just look at what R Kelly's been up to recently. It's so very obvious and yet no ones making much fuss.

I was leaning more towards Colin Kaepernick getting it, but the momentum of this sexual harassment/abuse outing and the fact that it is a backlash against Trump's presidency made it a no brainier. I think it's an excellent choice. I think 2017 will be known as the year when women decided to be silenced no more and decided to fight back. The world can only be a better place (hopefully) going forward.
