"Jedi cannot help what they are."
"Their compassion leaves a trail."
"The key to hunting Jedi is patience."
Is that Pelps in that voice-over?
^^ Not in the posted trailer but in another promo running in advance of the first episode airing.

Dang it, I think I got caught by a spoiler and know what has everyone getting soppy. I have to be more careful. I guess it's not a stretch to figure out that would be an aspect of the series, but damn it. Be careful guys if you haven't watched yet.
In other news, does anyone know what role flea plays?

The girl playing the 3rd sister however, is not. She was great in The Queens Gambit.
The Grand Inquisitor did not translate well to live action.
Watched the first two episodes. Not really impressed so far. But of course I’ll give it the whole season.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I guess with this obeewand show, there has been a re-examination of the prequel trilogy, and folks are now saying they're pretty good. I don't man, I haven't seen them in ages, but I remember distinctly they were pretty shitty. I did like parts of the third one though, the one where future derth vidir fights obeewand on some lava and at the end he ascends to his CPAP/asthma mask and screams NOOOOOOOO! at the end. That one was alright. The other two, woof. I guess maybe the passage of time has softened peoples feelings about them, that and comparing them to the last trilogy, which I didn't mind that much, tbh. I liked the first one, the other two were not that great, I'll grant that.

Lil' Leia is a charm to watch. I want her to partner up with Grogu!
And I wonder at what point between now and Rebels the Grand Inquisitor gets his head elongated...

I feel like the real thrust of this show will be the Obi-Wan and Anakin/Vader stuff that we will inevitably see....and likely a Qui-Gon force ghost sequence. The show is more about Obi-Wan's trauma more than anything.
Think about what Obi-Wan is like when Maul comes for him in the desert (REBELS: TWIN SUNS) in about 5 years beyond KENOBI....he's calm, cool, and collected. He's dealt with his demons and PTSD and is a more self-assured Jedi than he's likely ever been. This show is what will help him get there I think. Link the ROTS Obi-Wan who is bereft with his own failure to the one from the OT who is more self-assured.

She's phenomenal!
Also was not expecting Flea from the RHCP's to show up as a villain.

Yup.
Also, I'm, CONVINCED that the small group of younglings that were in the opening Order 66 portion of the first episode....one of them was the 3rd sister.
Also, fun fact: The below character is actually Ewan's real life daughter Esther Rose MgGregor.

Despite my near complete lack of watching any D+ content since the end of REBELS and an aborted attempt at REBELLION, i decided to watch OBI-WAN eps 1 and 2.
I could nitpick, i could complain, but fnck all that, i enjoyed them and will watch the rest.
What this did, really really well, was capture a lot of the 'feel' from the original trilogy.
SPOILERS ALL THE WAY DOWN

SPOILERS
I WAS NOT CRYING YOU WERE CRYING
*Padawan escorts Younglings through battle, looks like they're gonna make it, dies violently*
Youngling 1: What do we do?
Youngling 2: We run!
*They run*
*Jedis are gunned down all around them*
I SAID I WAS NOT CRYING
Agreed. I was so ready to be annoyed with her but she sold it so well, despite, not because of, the plot and dialogue she was given to work with.
Seriously, the Inquisitors did not translate well to live action here. Given how things ended I imagine this Grand Inquisitor wasn't meant to be the one from Rebels, but if that's the case they should have made him look less similar. Also, he and the other ale Inquisitor had too similar makeup, and moved really really stiffly, like their costumes didn't fit well.
Reva suited the role well enough. Her powers were inconsistent, her parkour was overlong, and borderline silly since she missed the gunfight entirely, but she sold the threat she was supposed to represent, and i like the idea of a renegade Inquisitor fanatically loyal to Vader. Also, her hairdo is bad.
Agreed. I suspect that at the finale, we'll see Obiwan drop to his knees, emulate Qui-gon's last meditation before he's killed by Maul, achive the communion he's still working for, and then spring up and do something awesome.
Seems very likely.
I was expecting them to identify the other Jedi at the beginning as one of them but they didn't go there.
That's perfect!

With the buzz around Obeee-Juan Ken-oh-a-bee! There are rumblings that a Dirk Vaydurr spin-off might be in the nascent works staring Hayden Christensen. Not suprising, Disney+ should rebrand as "Everything Star Wars and Marvel Streaming Service." With the tag-line: "Sure, you don't think you need this, but trust us, you do."
