Really? I wasn't going to say anything,as even opinions are sort of spoilery so all I'll say is, there was some really good stuff... and some really dumb stuff.

That fight/entire scene with Smoke was amazing. I just really wanted, at the point Rey and Kylo united, something new... it was on the cusp of going somewhere completely different, with those two as a combined force. And then they parted... And Kylo just carried right on as if nothing had changed.

They both felt Luke leave, so pretty sure he's gone.

That fire-framed silhouette of Luke against the Walkers was awesome.

Further thoughts on why I didn't leave the theatre on a high.

(BIG SPOILERS DON'T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)

The First Order still sucked. Finn was demoted to side act; sent on an ultimately useless mission with a lot of filler and a crowbarred in scene with Phasma, just to give them something to do. That animal stampede was like goddamn jumanji or something.

My main downer was the ending. After a Hoth remake scene, and Leia still opining on hope, it was all feeling rather like it was going round in circles... like they just ended SWs. Empire, rebellion; First Order, rebellion; except the First Order is not a patch on the Empire, and now Snoke isn't, there's no point to it.

So while Leia was saying this was just the beginning, I was feeling the exact opposite. And when Luke vanished, with two suns off in the distance, it felt like the end. I felt like they just finished it off for the generation that grew up with it.

I left feeling a bit empty.

Saw it last night. Just renovated IMAX theater with the finest pleather reclining seats, a perfect angle to the theater so no heads, glorious uber-sound.

I had a lot of fun, i was entertained, got my money's worth.

Thought ROGUE ONE was better.

Snoke's ninja's and when Ren and Rey threw down on them. That fight was pure visual sf SW candy.

Poe's run at the planetbuster at the beginning.

All things Leia.

Despite the utter cheese, Rose and Finn freeing Falcor the dog-dragon from THE NEVERENDING STORY's family.

Every single time Chewie did something awful to a porg.

Rey generally.

The opening was just barely pretending not to be a rip from EMPIRE.

The entire 'we're running out of fuel and just barely staying ahead of the Order fleet' thing was ridiculous and contrived.

The whole 'they can't track small ships' thing even more so.

I accept space or relativity or whatever, but Rey was hanging with Luke for days and Finn's trip to Space Vegas plus stopover on Snoke's ship was supposed to take about six hours. No. Just no.

Pretty much everything about Finn's plot felt like they didn't know what to do with him and this was the best the writers room could come up with when they ran out of time. Del Toro was irritating and not in a charming rogue sort of way. Phasma felt phoned in because they had to do something with her too.

So many lovely heroic sacrifices. Too bad we never really knew any of the characters enough to give a crap. See ROGUE ONE for how this was done right.

Snoke. Great visual, suitably evil. And that's it, we got nothing.

I don't see why they couldn't have Luke lift his damn X-wing out of the ocean, face Kylo for real and do the Obiwan fadeout at the end. The Force projection thing just felt like a cheat, and not the supposedly clever cheat it was supposed to be.

Rey lifting rocks at the end was bad CG.

As much as i liked the visual, the crystal critters were so painfully obviously a Chekov's Gun thing.

Most of the 'didn't like' is nitpicky, and to be clear, i DID enjoy the film.
