Morghy, not that I am complaining (the less upkeep, the moar disks left, the moar powah!) but isn't exploring + claiming a system a 2-disc action (one for the exploration action + 1 for claiming the system)?
I think we are now using the disc which was set aside for the exploration action to claim the tile as well.

Looking back, I notice that D'rek asked for the wormholes from 2H to be pointed away from me. What makes us Terrans so repulsive that the Hydrans go to such lengths to avoid us?

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

OK then, well I'll Explore 3K. As a preference, please try to place the tile so that it creates wormhole connections with both 2G and 2H. I want to commence relations with the Hydrans.

Hydrans can win without much interaction due to their sciency thingie (research & build monoliths, fill a few science tracks, combat a few ancients for combat points). Playing them is a bit like masturbation. The one doing it enjoys himself, the rest just sit and wonder when they'll be involved.

Everything should be updated properly. It is IH's turn to do his second action. Followed by ment as the first to do his third.

Ok I'll explore 2B.

Lets hold off on the alliance for now plant folks, as you are building quite a commanding lead. I've no objection to alliance later on when your weed like growth slows, but at the moment you're looking pretty scary.

Very well. Just remember that the earlier you make an alliance, the more you make in cash.

Ok, The tile holds no planets, but an undefended discovery tile. Do you wish to expend a disk to claim it?

While IH decides, Ment is up.

Depends on how it's orientated and how many wormholes it has. can I ensure it is not connected to 1A, and connected to 3c?

If it can be connected to 3c I will spend a disc to claim it
If it is connected to 1a I will spend a disc to claim it
If it is not connected to 1a and not connected to 3c i will not spend a disc to claim it

(the strategy here being to keep a discovery tile in the bank, until a time when I have more actions, does that make sense?)

Disco tiles are generally awesome - I would go for claiming it no matter what. You can always remove the disc later with the influence action, or deliberately bankrupt yourself to take it off.

The Overwatch is enjoying a relaxing gamma ray bath, at the moment, and cannot be distrubed...

I'm stalling - I will reject this at the moment, but will make the offer back to you after my next action - I want to ally, but I want to wait and see what I get from my next action before I have to choose what kind of cube to put on the alliance tile. Okay?

@ IH - Very well. Your tile is a triple hull, which you can chose to place on one of your ship schematics right away.

Or you can put to the side and place it later using UPGrade.

Or you can take the tile for 2 points at the end, instead.

He could also just keep the 2VPs, right? Do people do that very often?

EDIT: Oh, I see D'rek's already pointed that out.

The Terran Directorate is interested in re-establishing relations with other fragments of Humanity. to that end, we shall explore 2 D , hopefully finding a wormhole to link us with the Terran Conglomerate.

I think I've only seen someone take the 2VP once in three games, so far - it's more fun to get free gizmos or resources to play with then abstract points  But if you got a free-tech disco tile that you really didn't care about the tech you would get from it, or if you got a ship part on the last round after you'd already super-upgraded your ships the points would probably be more worth it.
