So far, I have decided on the first word of my title.

I'm going with 'The'.

Why can't that be the whole title? O.o

I was debating signing up again this year ("winning" last year was fun!) but I am completely bereft of any ideas, apocalypse-wise or other. I'm kinda disappointed in myself because I usually have ideas dripping out of my ears but alas, not this time. Anyway! Good luck to everyone participating! :The Force:

Two words for you: c'mon, c'mon.
You did it last year you can do it now.
I've got an outline for part of the story but non fleshed out characters. I can barely wait to start. Also I'll be letting my beard grow for the month. Writers beard.

Now that I've finished FoD, I can go back to lurking here....

Okay, sign me up! I have characters, and I have the beginning and the end... just not the middle, lol

One author I met at a signing mentioned that one of his previous works was about necromancy, but I've not sought it out. Adam Dalton is his name.

One could argue that Brandon Sanderson's _Elantris_ touches on necromancy. And of course, there's the whole necromancy arc in Dresden, which is Not Yet Done. [<--- see what I did there]

But if you guys are stuck for ideas or titles, shout and I'll dump a load of em onto this thread for you to pick over, if you're the kind of author who can riff on other people's ideas. It might serve to inspire your own tangent, anyway.

I have a provisional title of
The Crossroads.

But that's mostly because the opening scene I have in mind is set there.
How central to the story it will be remains to be seen. It just makes me feel better having something to call it

Yay writer's beard! I will want to see a pic of that, lol.
As for myself, I don't even have an outline or a title or anything...last year I had an outline as well as some basic details for the plot and this year, nada. It's alright though, I guess my muse is just asleep. Or in a coma. Whatever. :p

9.10pm

Time to start, ah the joys of work

ETA, 85 already, man this is ....easy?

eta, progress day one:
430 words.

I figured I could easily knock out at least 500 a day but I'm shattered after todays travel and work.
that being said, what I have written is has actually taken me to where I was originaly going to open so I'm optimistic about being able to spitball some outside of my planning and notes (the little red book I've taken to carrying with me at work)

Right so it's 9:30pm my time. Managed a good 2500 words which is exactly where I wanted to be. Though I'll try and keep going, since the next two days will be very difficult considering what I've got to do outside Nano.
Hope everyone is doing well.

good start last night i feel. up to 2300 after a little morning writing. i AM trying to go with as little proper nouns as possible. easier than i thought, but i have to be careful to make sure i don't confuse who i'm referring to.

Considering the 8000 words in a one day sitting he pulled off last year he may well do it.

I'm averaging my desired 2000 a day for now. I won't be getting any in tomorrow though which means it's all on Sunday.

Bit late, but I'm in! I've slacked off the last few days, though, and I'm only at 2600. Still, I've got some surprisingly cohesive ideas for something I decided to do on impulse. How's everyone doing?? Btw, my NaNoWriMo username is Gerrert Gerrat, for those wanting to buddy up!

Managed to catch up to my minimum today. The weekend move really set me back.
I've got some exposition I'm not happy with, but for now it stays until December.
Thinking of also setting up a new POV character.
