That would be fine if it was just two people playing, but when there is more than two people playing then everyone gets to say something.

Except that I'm not an assassin, and you've offered very little in terms of proof as to why you think I am an assassin besides the fact that I was on all the lynch trains, which is something that can be said about just about everyone on the lynch trains. You've got blinders on, you've made a decision about me based, by your own admission, on gut feeling, and you seem to expect everyone to just take your word for it and ignore me. You're hurting yourself more than you're helping anyone here, if you ask me.
Instead of just saying "My gut tells me that Korvalain is an assassin, so we should just ignore everything he says" why don't you offer some actual reason why you think that Karosis is probably an assassin instead of part of Galain's faction? Why don't you play the game instead of telling people to fuck off and trying to discredit everything I say based on your gut feeling about me? Heck, if you don't like a Karosis vote, why don't you offer an alternative? It's not my fault that very few cases have been made this game. It may seem like I am leading the thread, but I think I am simply making cases and others are happy to tag along becauses my cases make sense and no one else is actually sticking their necks out. It's a shame that people like you make it hard for people like myself, who actually want to play some Mafia, make it difficult to do so. You're adding almost nothing to the thread, so why the heck should anyone listen to you?

So , If I asked you how big are you balls , can Korv answer for you ? or if you answer me, can Korv comment on how small they are?

Think of it as in politics. you are the majority and you have all the [hypothetical] power. There MUST be opposition . I saw that no one was opposing you and every one was just nodding along on day 1, so I became the opposition by force. after I looked into your posts I realized I don't like your dumb ass play style so I've been gunning for you since.

sorry, been swamped up today
I see Ouchi has lost one in the lynch (possibly a leader) and the assassins are down by one more (who was already dead?)
Otherwise, there seems to be some arguments breaking out, name calling etc.

Yeah, and as I said, if you don't want the thread following me, why don't you make a case for them to follow instead of just sitting there naysaying me? Is it really that hard to comprehend basic Mafia play? No one is gonna follow you if you don't give them something to chew on. It's not my fault I seem to be the only one making anything resembling a case. So make one against someone, maybe they'll follow you instead of following me!

Anyway, in the interest of being done arguing with Osseric, what do OTHERS think of my Karosis case?
I am gonna have a look at Meanas too, I remember having some suspicions about him a while back that I would like to see more about. And Spite sort of imploded yesterday when someone suggested he was connected to Galain, so there might be something there as well.

This is stupid. Read the underlined asshole. I love the way I'm being set up to take the fall for Galain when he moves to L1. First I'm symping him, and now I'm whateverthefuck. I thought the Galain case wasn't a bad one, which I happened to mention earlier in the day, but I didn't feel like throwing my vote down right away like everyone else. Obviously, my change of vote is upsetting some of you.
This was the post I was referring to when I mentioned Spite imploding. Not as bad as it was in my head. And it was against Liosan, who was frustrating the hell out of me too. Like, if you're going to ask questions, maybe you shouldn't ask questions that have been answered several ties on thread already. Anyway, I am willing to let Spite slide for now. Gonna have a look at Meanas now.

My only problem with her is how she freaked out at the first mention of symping Galain. but nothing interesting from her, she generally follows lynch trains with no good reason (wanting to show that you are not symping does not count as a good reason ) .

I've gotten basically the same read on Meanas. Says enough just to be helpful without sticking his neck out. Spite's implosion is more suspect, I think, than anything Meanas has done. I still like the Karosis case better than anything else I've come across.

I had a crazy thought last night around Sam Adams number 6 or 7. This afternoon it still makes a bit of sense. Maybe.
There are two people in the game who know something the others may not. First some quote fu. Italics and underlines mine.
I will save my thought on this for reasons that will be clear in my following post.

So, Ashikaga is East of Kyoto, and the three clans are West of Kyoto.
And then in Eloth's death scene:
I know it's a slim connection, but it seems like he was sent by the Shogun to try to get some support. I think that Eloth was meant to be a recruiter for Ashikaga.
Anyway, I also did a bit of research to see if maybe Kunitomo was a true historical figure, and to see if info about that figure could help, cause I noted in previous Sengoku games that some of the characters were drawn from history. He is a true figure, but there's no help to be had. The only Kunitomo that came up in a Google search was part of the Tokugawa shogunate, and a gunsmith and astrologist. So yeah, no help there.

1348017260[/url]' post='995396']It is the early 1500's, in lands West of the Imperial capital, Kyoto. With the defeat of the Ashikaga in the East, it did not take much for Western clans to make their own strikes for power. Masamoto Hosokawa struck first. In a conflict between the Hosokawa and the Hatakeyama clan, shogun Yoshitane led troops against Masamoto. The shogun was defeated.
Masamoto subsequently took control of Kyoto, and exiled Yoshitane, raising Ashikaga Yoshizumi to the post of shogun in his stead. Yoshizumi, however, was nothing more than Masamoto's puppet to control.
This widened the conflict, as the neighboring clans of the Hosokawa decided to tentatively grab for more land, power and control of their destinies.
This is where the situation stands. Three clans, the Hosokawa, the Ouchi and the Amako push and prod each other, looking for any weaknesses. Not ready for open conflict yet, they seek diplomatic means, mild border skirmishes to keep each other off balance as well as even more…underhanded methods to try and seize the upper hand.
The time for brute force has not yet arrived. Instead, look for the knives in the dark….

He had thought to infiltrate the clan by slipping through the checkpoint as a silk merchant, but several over-dubious border agents had sniffed through his false premise almost immediately. He had barely made his escape, but his mule was lame and he had nowhere else to go.
Taking his short blade from his sash, his only regret was that he had failed the Shogun, his master, and the Ashikaga would be stricken even further by his failure. It had been the hope of his master that he could find support amongst the Western Clans, and to possibly stave the violence that was slowly brewing West of Kyoto. It wasn't to be, he had failed before he began. There was naught to be done but end it.
So he did. One crimson slash and his blood boiled across the bare stony ground.

The assassin thing is the wonky mechanic, to throw in recruitment would be a bit much. (Though Shin did say TCMI 8...so it isn't out of the question.) Well, the scene mentions Captains, their seconds, and a page. That could be three of the roles, with the Captain being at the top, but if the game is indeed set up with 3 factions of 4 people, that leaves one role unaccounted for. Could be a leader, could be that Eloth was indeed a part of a clan (though I doubt this more considering it was clear that Galain was Ouchi captain) and the fourth role is agent. Could be that the second and page were just in there for flavour and aren't even roles. For now, I think we need to connect people to Galain and try to clear out some more Ouchi clan members to see what other roles there might be, assuming that all 3 factions have the same roles like they did in Sengoku 2.

In Sengoku 1, it was a town vs. scum game, so not very helpful.
Either way, no indication of where in the hierarchy a Captain would stand. If we're thinking teams of 4, I am thinking Captain might be just below a Leader, but above everyone else. But that's just instinct, there's no proof to back that up until we start finding some more faction folk with our lynches and kills.
So it would be nice if we could get some discussion on thread. What do people think of Karosis as our next lynch target? Anyone have any other suggestions?

Well, the scene mentions Captains, their seconds, and a page.
I will save my thought on this for reasons that will be clear in my following post.

This may get me modkilled. This is pre game conversation I had with Lady Bliss.
Lady Bliss started the sign-up page so it is safe to assume she knew something concerning Shin's plan.
HOWEVER this conversation happened a day after Shin announced that he would run the game. So Bliss could have been fucking with my mind before it ever started.
My own thoughts on the subject reserved until I find out whether I am modkilled and blacklisted.

I'd like to take a crack at It if you're willing to accept a complete neophyte. If so please point me to the most relevant game threads to read up on. (Topper's 101 guide says to read through some completed threads to get a feel for the game.)If you prefer vets, that's cool too.

Always good to have new people join!
This is going to be a faction game, so while there is lynching, there may not be night kills and there will be recruiting. There should be at least 2 faction leaders, and you typically get a pm telling you that you have been recruited to another team. My advice is to read the rules posted in the OP carefully, and feel free to pm Path-Shaper if you have any questions. Have fun!

One observation: look at all of Sorrit's posts. To me, Sorrit looks like a classic RI looking to be recruited.
