Don't choose a team that way. I grew up in a non NFL team state. Therefore I do not feel obliged to cast my loyalty to any team. Instead I choose to root against teams. Think of it this way what do you dislike. You will be able to find a team that encompasses that dislike. For instance Jerry Jones of Dallas. Dislike. Thus I root against the cowboys. I like how Peyton plays the game. So I root for him. The vikings like to fornicate on boats. I like that so I root for them.

You missed the Oakland Raiders, I think. But before you decide to support them, google for 'Raider Nation' and decide if you like it. Goofy and awesome to look at for certain, but it apparently isn't the nicest crowd for an opposing fan.

Added tip: if you're going to follow 'your' team, then see if you like the playstyle of it in addition to name/logo. If you like the running game way more than the passing game, you can drop the current Falcons, for example. If you like passing more than running, maybe the Vikings aren't your thing. If you like a defense that comes out on top all the time with athletic interceptions and big tackles, both the Ravens and Bears might be your team

As for whom I support: not really any single team. I severely dislike Eli Manning for some reason so I won't cheer for the Giants and I hate the Patriot's logo, which is enough to not like twice at them. Plus, I'm jealous of Tom Brady. Giselle Bundchen ought to be mine!

I am impressed with the Ravens (it is hard not to respect Ray Lewis, and Ray Rice is a beast), but that is something else than rooting for the team. Green Bay plays a high octane offensive game that quite appeals to me, but they're a team I've seen in one of the two Superbowls I watched from start to well, 3rd quarter .

I quite like the way Falcons play this season: I guess I'm a fan of the passing game (or running game break-throughs), and not so much a DEF slugging match admirer, must be the football/rugby influence in rooting for the offensive, pretty ball-play.

Soccer-wise I am all for the pretty passes, dribbling, good goals that sort of thing, i'm not a fan of the Bolton Wanderers style of approach or going further back Wimbledon style of approach. Vinny Jones and his bullying and sending offs. So a good attack is essential. History is another thing to look at. I am a Liverpool fan which ticks those boxes.

The Oregon State team is called the Beavers, University of Illinois in Chicago (UIC) is called the flames. I think that both of those are worse names then the Ducks.

I don't have a specific NFL team. I live in Bears country and had been to old solder field. So I feel a small obligation to root for them. I rooted for the seahawks and 49ers when I was a kid.
