Sorry, I don't buy that defense. Why wouldn't that person just guard you again? Why would they guard you in the first place? Why has no one outed theirself as having done so? I would hope that the recruits and CLs would still realize Batman is priority #1 for them and town and speak up if it was the case.
1. Maybe they thought I was actually the new BM who was going to kill Galain and make it seem like a double bat, but now wants to find out if they were wrong and that I am just a simple bat owner. That could be a good way to narrow down the pool of suspects for BM.
2. They thought I was jumped into as the new BM who was going to kill Galain and make it seem like a double bat. Maybe they thought that because I posted enough to be a contributor but not so much that I was a spammer. In that case, the double bat retry wouldn't work as it could be easily faked.
3. They want to stay hidden for later in the game when/if killing cultists/finding recruitable townies to recruit will become more of a priority and they want to keep their identity secret. Even if finding BM is a priority, they can wait until they are under heat to reveal themselves. The mass reveals this game have really been both a good and bad thing, helping us find the first BM, but also making it easier for BM to find CLs.
Disclaimer: these are the logical explanations that come to mind.
Spite, I would like you to at least try and speculate on the absolutely-disproves-your-claim order of resolution case I made.
1. We don't need to narrow down who the BM is any more, beacuse you're most likely to be Batman by all accounts. So why would they (like the rest of us) be willing to waste another night to try and clear you?
2. If some certain speculations are correct - namely someone put forth that maybe Batman has an accomplice - then it would be a great way to VPI a Batman by having them *claim* to have a knife and then just not going through with it thus "proving" your ability to guard. Not that having a guard ability actually proves much, of course. But if we go through with this plan (which I find highly unlikely), it'll be my knife attack, and it'll be aimed at you as insurance, btw.
3. OH please. This would have to be the most stupid stance a townie is taking I concur that the mass-reveals will be a double-edged sword, especially with all the easily "borrowable" information on thread right now, but there is a reason Ment put a zero-limitations addendum to the reveal rules. The fact is, ANY townie or cult recruit who thinks that
letting us lynch you when they KNOW you're not the Batman is a good idea....they're not right in the head. You do realize we have to kill the Batman THREE MORE TIMES before any faction can win, right? And you're saying someone would let us waste ANOTHER day starting over again rather than revealing on-thread that they've got the same abilities as everyone else and, hey guys, sorry, but you're looking in the wrong place?!
A FREAKING CL thought it was a good idea to
out one of their own recruits on thread to help narrow the pool and point us in the right direction! This last point of yours really sounds like scrabbling around for straws to me, Spite.
