OK, well I figure we should give Kanuni-Bashi and Defterdar to someone with a source of Politics, since that is the good that they require to be used. The Defterdar grants an ability that probably supercedes most people's NA (except perhaps for you, Khell/Omtose). So did anyone have a source of politics in the HoA team by the end?

That leaves Bostanji-Bashi and Kapuji-Bashi. THe former gives you resources, the latter lets you keep people out of the bazaar. Is there anyone who wants Kapuji-Bashi? It's quite a strong action...

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

He says unconvincingly ^_^

I have a source for Politics, but perhaps taking the Defterdar title alongside my Festival of Masks ability will make it too easy to gather loads of money. On the other hand, using one frees up a day/night slot to use another ability - because I was constantly using Festival of Masks to gather money it was very difficult to find a way/resources to use my other abilities without sacrificing gaining any money the next day.

I'm sending a 4way PM to your main accounts, winners.

Good job team. I was wrong about a lot, but I got the market pretty good.

As Tattersail was about to buy another title, I do think he should get first pick of at least the non-Defterdar titles.

Go check your PM boxes, put your reasoning there and we'll discuss this away from the public eye. I'm late for class so I might not respond for a bit.

Surroundings: 6 Metal, 4 Gemstones, 2 Magic, 1000 dinari
Well: 3 water/ cycle
Storage: 3 metal, 1 Paper, 1 Slave, 6 Gemstones, 5 water, 3 magic
Treasury:42000
Courtyard: empty

my storage...

I'd have had a title plus 17000 minimum by the end of the day, i could've converted those gemstones into jewellery knowing that sold.

Damn Vengy guarding me last night, else I would have hooked up the the Nepath prince and offered him some insider trading options. Though you guys had already won by then.

Each day I used my Djinn to learn info regarding a player. Giving me three more contracts each day to sell. When I sell a contract I get the contract amount and because I had 2 Dada Dream Dancers I get 4000 dinari each time my contract was purchased. That was why I offered to basically give my info out for free. I still got 4K each time. I was at the point where I was making 55K each day and the longer the game went on the more money i could make.

Ah, see every contract I filled I got 3000d. That's why there was an infinite loop alert put out when you started selling Merrid's info (actually, that's how I managed to make 30000d on the market in 2 hours of trading on the last day).

ST

Damn!! I should have offered the contracts for more so you wouldn't have gotten as much profit from them. I started to lower the price for the contracts because I wanted to guarantee that they would sell.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

GREAT GAME HoA! We really steamrolled them :D

Ahem, I'd like the Bostanji-Bashi title - or the Defterdar. Seeing as I can produce Politics the Defterdar title would be good for me, but I guess it should go to whoever we felt played the best game ^_^

The reason I was also looking at Bostanji-Bashi is because my role produces ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except slaves, meaning I was completely, utterly, and entirely reliant on the market and you people and your crazy high prices :p If it wasn't for Korlat/ST contacting me on day 3, I may have struggled somewhat if the game had gone on longer - certainly I was nowhere close to buying another title.

@ Tiam - why were you going to ask people to lynch me specifically?

I've got to say, I damn near broke my back buying that title by the beginning of the second day. I may be a trader, but really I appeared to have the role of a glorified minor pimp. I wheeled and dealed and used just about all my abilities and titles to scrape together that 30,000 dinari, and bankrupting myself to buy that title. Now that's team dedication :p

Well from my finds I found both you and Korabas to be HoA. From Korabas's titles I correctly guess that he was from the House of Magic and hadn't bought a title. You looked like you might have been the trader from the Houlse of Luxury that bought a title and you were. My reasoning was that if we lynched you another title would have hit the market thus giving the alliance a few more days to try and close the gap. It would have happened too if I would have hooked up with Merrid to start my insider trading which would have cut into Korlats profit though would have lowered mine and I could have coordinated with someone with a battle option to start picking off the HoA players one by one. Plus I wsa healing Merrid and Atrahal the last two days.

I haven't gone through all of the roles in SH so I don't know who had what roles. I gotta go. Time to check out and head back home. I had a blast playing. I was just disapointed the last couple of days I was unable to do anything other than play the market. Good game HoA.

Was there any mystery aligned players this game?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

One of my own damn Thieves stole from me EVERY NIGHT, DAMMIT. And that really hurt me on the first night, I lost everything I had gained in cash and apparently people like to target me with NAs....guess I shouldn't have posted so much. Part of that was that there was little I could do on the Market once I was put in such a bad spot; no one was selling the esoteric goods I needed like Scribes or Grain, and I had no cash to buy other small goods either. I could have sold all my base goods, which I often did, but the result was that I was almost always so cash-poor that I couldn't even afford to buy a building. No one was interested in buying my main production goods anyway (Worship/Politics).

I went after the Transmuter because I could produce 3 Magic per day but it never materialized; things finally turned around on Night 3, so if my Day 4 actions had played out, I was going to steal from a lot of people, then upgrade, then buy a couple goods, upgrade again, and still be safe from getting killed. However, I wasted two Thefts on Anthras to make sure I wasn't being guarded and when I stole from Korlat I was flush again, but it didn't matter at that point.

I really enjoyed the game; there were tense moments on the Bazaar where I was F5ing to see if something I needed would come up, but the most money I ever had was on day 1, I think - barely 6k. So compared to the HoA, making 10k+ each per day, I think the Thieves had about zero chance of ever buying a title.

The refusal to lynch....damn, no wonder, it's because the HoA was much bigger than I thought. I assumed there would be like 3 of them, at least 2 or 3 mystery factions, and 7 or 8 Vultures/Beggars/Nepeth. The only people talking on thread were the fuckers making all the money. ^_^ And of course they don't want to lynch, it doesn't benefit them at all, and I think that if we had lynched every day the VBN team would have faired much better. So, shame on everyone who did not vote (including myself).

The most fun I had was digging back into the old game and making that case on Alkend, which HAPPENED TO BE ON MY TEAM :D, but unfortunately all the HoA had to do was avoid lynches and night kills to win, it seems.

I think the game was unbalanced due to the Bazaar being the main way to win the game and how it was manipulated by HoA (5 vs. 8 is NOT a grand alliance, btw :p). Also the Bazaar was open on the weekend, which I thought was ridiculous, it should have been locked down entirely. Honestly just looking at the roles and stuff, I'm not sure how we could have won, with HoA having a perfect number of players and sharing info and cash consistently. They also posted quite well on thread, kudos to Anthras and Korlat for keeping the thread alive (although I was going after both of your throats off thread).

All in all, major props to Tap for creating a great game and modding it unbelievably well; he made changes to my role on the fly when I realized that part of it was worthless, and I'm sure he was up late and early to respond so quickly. I love the writing, the scenes, the setup, and the diverse abilities of the roles. It just so happened in this game that the HoA was pretty unstoppable. :p If the game had continued a couple more game days, and we lynched ANYONE, things might have turned a corner, but from what I can see in spoilers so far they had it locked down pretty early on. Our team's mistakes didn't help either (killing each other, stealing from each other, etc).

I second the congratulations to Tapper.

Personally, I don't think it was up to the thieves to get the titles (except maybe you). The mages who were on your side were incredibly powerful, and I think they needed to have unleashed those powers sooner. Also, you were unlucky in that the other powerful member on your side, Nepeth Shin, was unable to play as much as was needed. You Thieves did seem to need more luck to benefit from your roles though.

In a way, what happened in this game also happened in the previous one - the people who struck first (Nepeth in that one, HoA in this one) got a significant advantage and were able to win comfortably.

Yeah, ST/Korlat was part of the Night Prophet assassin cult, and he was aligned with the HoA. I'm surprised he didn't have personal winning conditions as well though.

We Won!!

I could use the Defterdar title. I get 2 politics every day so that would be a much needed source of income for me. My character was one of info... but I wasn't really able to utilize him to his fullest because he needed horses, eunuchs and scribes by the butt load. They weren't in high supply, and so I was forced into more of a production role rather than a info role. Of the remaining titles, thats pretty much the only one that would benefit me too much. The others, I could take any that we decide is good.

I found Korlat on day one and he was of the "Night Prophet faction" Had I known that meant house of Agreement I would have made a lover connection sooner with my Djinn. I knew he was ST right away so that would have been nice. I must have messed up my reading somewhere that stated that Night Prophet= HoA.

Anyway, glad my teammates seemed to be rolling in the dough. I really tried to play the market to get some horses scribes and eunuchs... given 2-3 more days I would have been able to buy a title.. but, to many requirements to buy in 4 days.

Great game all. was very fun.

heh, looking back, I had finds and my Djinn allowed me to make lover connections once per PHASE. My role would have given us an even bigger advantage with off thread comm had I been able to get horses/ my transmuter earlier.
