Also, I reckon the two contracts have both been put up by the same person - they're the only ones in which it's been written 'd' instead of 'dinari'.

Nice catch, I didn't even see the 2nd contract. I wonder what dancers are for. Livestock could be anything, but dancers seem specific.

By the looks of the goings on on the bazaar, someone needs water....many mouths to feed? Or expecting to.

Yeah, that makes me a bit nervous - as I understand it, the only reason you'd need lots of water is if you had retainers in your service. And if you've got retainers, you're going to be hard to kill in battle...

Interesting that you are worried about others being hard to kill and not about others having the intention to kill. That seems a lot like you have an battle action.

Nice catch GL.

I'm finally checking in. There is a lot of info to absorb and with the bazaar a distraction I can see where this might be a quiet day 1

Good catch, Omtose! Although the two don't really go together that well...don't see anything that would need them both.

The Dancers contract is a bit weird. Looking through the list, there are no buildings that take Dancers in and produce something else (Bellydancer is the only building that needs them to be built, and even then it only needs 1). So it's almost certainly for either a special ability or an upgrade.

As for the livestock, there are a lot more possibilities. Maybe someone owns a Stable and needs an Oxen or a Horse for something? Or alternatively has a silk farm? Those are the two that jump out...

Is it just me or is that Livestock contract stupid?

I mean, someone could put Livestock on the market for 500, thus fulfilling the contract, but if the contract giver isn't quick, then someone else could easily snap up those Livestock.

Actually when I looked recently I think that may have been exactly what happened. It's also possible to put up an offer to sell something and then turn around and buy it yourself. Thus not depriving you of the goods plus making money on the contract.

I completely forgot about that list of buildings.

Also, that's 3 posts (almost) in a row with "nice catch" beginning XD

Now that I think about it, it looks like someone's doing some speculation on the bazaar. Notice how all the goods sold in G1-7 are then put back on the market at a higher price in G8-13. That means potentially they're stuck with a lot of goods they don't actually want...maybe we should punish them by not buying their stuff :p.

Didn't notice that. Will have to take a look.

So, going with my theory above, what would someone want with 2 Livestock and 2 Dancers.

I think you will make yourself go crazy tring to figure out what people might need a specific item for. This seems like the ultimate WIFOM discussion. You can only speculate based on last game and what you know of your role this game. I'm already suffering from infomation overload as it is.

I did find that comment above regarding how people will approach this game as either town vs scum or faction very interesting. Why would people approach this game like town vs scum? It's clearly a faction game with one side a composition of 3 factions and the other all or mostly another. Tapper did give hints that there will probably be a few left field candidates in the game.

I agree about this being a faction game because, though, yes, you may be on someones team this game, you will most likely not be next game.

If you are from the same house then you will be on the same team in another game. That wouldn't change unless you are suggesting that there are cult aspects that can change someone's alignment. I think what you are referring to are the Nepath, Cult of Vulture and House of Beggar members that comprise one side of this game. Then I agree with you. The players that are on the same team this game won't neccesarly be on the same team in another game.

Checking in, not caught up. I won't be available for about 18 hrs. Just giving a heads up. I'll be readily available after that.

I was talking about allied factions (nepeth and vulture cult and beggar house).

Did the rules for contracts change from 0.33 to this one? I seem to recall that you couldn't put in conditions before.

If not then the contracts that have been put up are illegal so yeah, probably.

You can put conditions in now.

The one clause that can't be included is the one happening there:

C3Y, <First house of agreements player> to buy all 3 liquor from G8Q gets 1500 dinari.

That first bit (or substituting the bracketed bit or G8Q by "me") makes it so that it can only be fulfilled "by something players have no control over.
Therefore, I won't stand for that.

However, a contract can contain clauses: running time, amount of times it can be fulfilled (X votes on player Y), target, use of a certain ability on a target, et cetera.

I guess I should have been clearer in the various threads, but for this game, I wanted fast and loose and not lawyering - sometimes, that bites you in the ass :p
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

I'm misunderstanding you here - what makes you think that if you are in one "faction" in this game, you'll be in the same one in the next game? Didn't Tapper say at some point he wasn't going to do this in the manner that D'rek did with Rot3K (to some extent)?

What I was saying is if there are 2 characters from the House of agreement in this game and the same 2 characters in another game they will both still be on the same tea. The House of agreement. If there is one player in this game from the cult of vultures and one from the Nepath they are on the same team in this game but if they both are in another game then no they don't necessarily will be on the same team again.

Hope that claifies and not make things even more confusing

Is anyone else finding the items in the bazaar being grossly overpriced? There are a few things out there that I'm thinking of buying but I just can't see myself spending the dinari that is being offered.
