I guess people are just trying to figure somethings out but the thread was okay last game

Couldn't remember. Anyway, has anyone else taken a glance at the market? It seems to be empty, do you think we're going to be limited to just buying and selling from each other instead of having the option to buy and sell to/from the bazaar itself?

Hey guys!
This is pretty crazy, but let's not get overwhelmed. Posting on thread is important too. Was there trouble with that last game?

Yeah, I've seen in the past that there's a tendency for the thread to go quiet when there's so much going on under the covers. Might be especially bad here given that the victory conditions are not just "Destroy the other team"...

To answer it in the open:
day 1, 2 I won't offer anything.
I'll only offer goods for sale if it is really necessary for the game (aka people missing out on stuff they absolutely need, not people not wanting to pay the price for goods that are available, but costly). If you truly desperately need something, have put up contracts for it, tried building the relevant building, then I might consider it.
I will offer items, titles, retainers and retainer producing buildings for sale later on in the game, but... I am also curious to see how it works out as it is right now.
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

I definitely get that impression. Unlike the last game, there's no mention of there being anything for sale at the start of day in any of the literature at the top of the thread.
EDIT: X with PS

I'll be interested to see whether this ends up being a faction-game style thread or a town vs. scum style thread. Seems like either is possible in a 2-faction game...

Here. Give me another week or so and I should get my head around what's going on....at least by the time Tapper does the final Tales game we'll all be trading, etc. like pros - in theory
It's inevitable that someone ends up posting in this thread as Hugin and Munin

Ooh, and a selling spree too! Although it looks to me as though whoever put up the most recent stuff is overvaluing their goods quite considerably. 2000 dinari for some mud? Please.

By the looks of the goings on on the bazaar, someone needs water....many mouths to feed? Or expecting to.

Yeah, that makes me a bit nervous - as I understand it, the only reason you'd need lots of water is if you had retainers in your service. And if you've got retainers, you're going to be hard to kill in battle...

Yeah, someone's planning to gather forces for an attack clearly. So I'm assuming that the person doing it is probably a Nepeth general of some sort, like in the last game.
Edit: Or protection against attack. But people in Mafia tend to be blood-thirsty....

Interesting that you are worried about others being hard to kill and not about others having the intention to kill. That seems a lot like you have an battle action.

Maybe, maybe not

The reason I phrased it that way is because I have no idea if all retainers give you combat strength or not. I mean, you could conceivably have a retainer of strength 0, right? But one thing that is constant is that he will provide you with some protection in battle because of how the battle rules work.
