I'm rather busy right now, so I just quickly skimmed the thread.

People are very content to discuss the market and how they think it will work. Especially Korlat and a few others seems to try to keep the focus on that discussion.
I know that the market is unusual and interesting to discuss, but to point out the high prices and how they develop and that someone is speculating for 2 pages seems a lot to me, when it is just showing how a free market works.
Maybe Korlat just stands out because he has comparatively many post, but I don't like how the focus is solely on the market so far.

vote Korlat

I agree with PS that speed lynching might not be in our interest, because this game can be won without lynching, but it is still a game of mafia and I don't want to neglect the whole voting thing.:p

Stolen goods, has anyone else seen that yet? I wonder how often this will happen. It'd probably make people hesitant to put anything of high quality/value in the bazaar in case it gets taken away.

I doubt it will happen to often, otherwise the whole bazaar would stop working properly.

Well do you think Korlat is not in your faction? I think people are trying to figure this out before voting.

I don't know, to be honest.
But without any reactions from voting and only discussing the things that happen on the market I don't know how to find out, except if someone comments in a way that suggest him to be in on or the other team and that is not very likely with balant observations and price discussion.

Well dear people, I'll be gone for a meeting that will take most of the afternoon.
Best of luck, and here's a vote and time count...

It is Day 1. 9 hours and 3 minutes remaining

13 Players still alive: Alkend, Anthras, Atrahal, Barghast, Galayn Lord, Karatallid, Kessobahn, Korabas, Korlat, Merrid, Okaros, Omtose, Tiamatha

7 votes to lynch, 7 votes to go to night.

1 Vote for Korlat ( Galayn Lord )

Players not voted: Alkend, Anthras, Atrahal, Barghast, Karatallid, Kessobahn, Korabas, Korlat, Merrid, Okaros, Omtose, Tiamatha
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Haha, goods stolen from the market! I wonder how it's decided though - random or some other mechanic? I agree with Galayn that the, um, traditional mafia methods have been neglected somewhat. What I would say about Korlat is even though their talk about the market mechanics may have become excessive, they were trying to use it to snag or pin people down in this thread - such as Korlat tried with myself.

At this moment in time, I'm more willing to go after someone who hasn't posted much, if I'm honest - now that might get people to stop focusing on off-thread matters and come on and post more. But like PS said, I'm not overly worried about getting a no lynch today.

C6X, For 10000 dinari, select a player to be the target of an assassination attempt on Night 2. Send your choice to PS.

I don't see someone taking this offer. You have no clue whether the assassiantion would work and you'd be 10kd down. Yet the player whom tries the assassination would be 10kd the richer and possibly closer to a title.

This might mean that the people with killing powers/attempts may be low on funds or just greedy.

Gold, Powder and wood stolen.

I'd say they couldn't be picked otherwise you'd think the more expensive stuff would be taken like monument or worship.

The first part is my feelings, and the 2nd part makes sense. It's hard to tell who is on which team without a CF...

Alright, looks like I've drawn a vote from GL. Sounds like I've got it for being vocal. Well I guess the game has to start somewhere, but attacking someone for being talkative seems counterproductive if you're looking to try and get discussion going and figure out people's loyalties :p.

Admittedly, I did kind of jump on Omtose when he was answering (or more accurately sidestepping :D) the questions I asked him, which isn't exactly going to encourage people to talk to me. But I've been trying to poke a little bit within the confines of the bazaar discussion to start the ball rolling. Problem is, in faction games people get voted off once there is no mystery about which team you're on any more, so there's little incentive to be open on thread and risk revealing your alignment.

Just had a look at the bazaar. That assassination contract is interesting...confirms there's someone out there with assassin powers, at least. Whether anyone would buy it though...seems unlikely at this stage. Too difficult to know who's not on your team, plus it's quite a lot of money.

Also, theivery! As Kessobahn mentioned, it seems a strange selection of goods. Could it be something like "Target a player, steal 1 good from each post of theirs"? Total value of the goods on sale was 10500 dinari - that's quite a heist!

I think that given the size of our group, we need to be wary of making a wrong lynch, regardless of which team someone is on. At this stage in the game, we are all in need of resources and commodities. I would hate to lose opportunities to obtain those. I have more concern at the moment to eliminate someone that I think has an ability to disrupt the market (such as theft).

What sort of goods are you looking for? If it's something non-controversial, requesting it on thread might be a good way of getting people to post it for you. I've got my eye on that Monument, but unfortunately I can't afford it at the moment.

Wait a second. Did you just ask him to out himself on a good desire on thread? Your ideas are a bit wild for my tastes.

On top of that, you need a MONUMENT

That doesn't build anything in the build list, so it's probably for some kind of ability.

Outing yourself.

Meh, information is not always meant to be hoarded and kept to yourself. I don't think it's a particularly big deal for me to reveal that I need a Monument for one of my upgrades. Whoever is currently trying to sell the monument will perhaps be more inclined to price his good such that I can afford it if he knows that he might have a buyer.

Marketplaces are more efficient for everyone involved the more information is available. Keeping your desires hidden has its place, but it's not like anyone is going to try to get you killed because you need wood for something, is it?

So Omtose, would you be in favour of higher or lower commodity prices?

"So Omtose, are you a merchant looking to sell your goods at high prices, or a poor assassin beggar looking to find a bargain?" :p

My opinion is that the market activity is demonstrating people's feelings - for this day anyway. High-priced goods are not selling, lower-priced goods are. As the game goes on, people may however become more desparate for certain items, leading to a willingness to pay over the odds. But right now, most people aren't in a hurry or worried, so they're not paying up.

people may also not have enough money to buy some of those things like whoever went on the shopping spree as they probably blew all their money on the bazaar.

Yeah I can see the bazaar slowing down a bit tomorrow. I did see some items have been stolen from the Bazaar. That will probably have an sobering affect on the market as well.

Spoken like someone who doesn't want people to be afraid to put stuff up for sale.

Not necessarily. These things might fuel actions and/or be used for upgrades or buildings.
