Got it, read it. Excellent series, very detailed and as far as is possible historically accurate.
It's hard to keep track of characters sometimes as several generations have the same name. Although I did read them as they came out, someone else reading them now may have the advantage of going back-to-back.

BK if you're looking for generic roman choppity chop fun popcorn stuff. Try Scarrows Eagle series, 10 or so books (last one gets a bit Mary sue) basically Sharpe in a roman setting, excellent fun stuff

If you've got a Kindle there's a collection of the first five books in the Masters of Rome series for $25: http://www.amazon.co...masters+of+rome
I got it myself last week, planning on starting it soon.

assuming they are Kindle books, you need the free app. I have used it on Android phone, tablet, & PC successfully - they will sync up when you change devices which validates all the money ever spent on computer research, all by itself
It there is another format in question, I have never tried it, except the .pdf, which requires its own Adobe reader
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I use Moon Reader and the Kindle app. Between the two, they can display anything.
Moon Reader is by far the best app I have bought in any category. Just a great, great set of options and terrific ease of use.

Did a bit of googling.
kindle books wont work on my reader (Sony reader) but there are various method out there to strip the drm and convert to epub.
I have no qualms about stripping the drm off a book I pay for, as I will be only one using it.
why didn't amazon just go with the universal format and drm it? Awkward wankers

Calibre is a great program and very easy to use. That's what I use to manage all my stuff, convert books to various formats (strip drm), and organize things. I'd definitely recommend it to combo with your sony reader. Amazon tends to have a lot of great ebook sales (I tend to buy ebooks only when they are on sale, usually $1.99), so it's a shame to miss out on them because of formatting issues.

They want you to use their reader, and for the vast majority of non-tech inclined customers it's a sound strategy.
For the rest of us, there's Calibre.
That said I admit that the extra effort is marginally annoying thus i actively used both Kindle and Kobo reader apps on my tablet, but then, i'm not that anal about organizing my ebooks.

The whole idea of e-book DRM is an utter disgrace, Amazon just take it one step further by using a whole different format.
It's irrelevant to me though because I boycott Amazon.

3.When the Eagle Hunts (2002)
4.The Eagle and the Wolves (2003)
5.The Eagle's Prey (2004)
6.The Eagle's Prophecy (2005)
7.The Eagle in the Sand (2006)
8.Centurion (2008)

10.The Legion (2010)◾Blood Debt (2009, short story)
11.Praetorian (2011)
12.The Blood Crows (2013
I haven't read blood debt, but the first 9 are solid popcorn action fun, 10, 11, 12 are stretching the series a bit, but by that stage you should love Macro so much it wont matter.

read the first one, was okay-ish. i'm not going to bother to read the rest, there wasn't anything memorable enough to make me want to read on.
So actually, on reflection, poor.

Have read The Thief-Takers Apprentice - thought it was not bad, but not great either. Will probably finish the trilogy at some point, but only if i've nothing I prefer to read.
Read Adamantine Palace - took too long to get going in my opinion - liked the idea, just a bit too slowly paced. May or may not return to the series, (might burn through the Thief-takers trilogy and base my decision on reading any more of his stuff on that)
meh. Link was dead :(
