There's a drop dead gorgeous Algerian girl at work, she's got this amazing Cleopatra-look, and I always think of her as Lady Envy.

DFA, the guy whose quote I use for my signature is my version of Quick Ben. Tall, skinny, very clever, fast and cocky. Not as dark though and maybe somewhat more friendly.

When I think of Greymane, I see Liam Neeson.

Shadowthrone is the aged Dustin Hoffman.

Dujek Onearm looks like the Provost of UCL.

edit: Shadowthrone is a combination of the aged Dustin Hoffman, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.

edit again: I forgot to mention that Fiddler is the spitting image of Tom Waits in my mind.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I'm just about to run out the door but I had to say

Lance Reddick - Quick Ben
John Scurti - Stormy

Cedric Daniels as QB is a good one.

I imagine Karsa as Mareg from Grandia 2 if that means anything to any one.

Shadowthrone/Kellanved is black...

Whiskeyjack is Mads Mikkelsen from Valhalla Rising (without the screwed up eye thing).

Or if you want to keep Mikkelsen's hilarious one eye thing going (he's played Le Chiffre, One Eye and the one-eyed musketeer), give him Toc the Younger's role. Haaaaaaah.

I alternate Dassem and Duiker between John Amos and Danny Glover at their middle-aged prime. Both tough, intimidating, incredibly smart dudes. Though I can't really picture either of them with Dassem's long hair.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Christopher Walken = Kallor
Sarah Jessica Parker = Paran's horse
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Christopher Lee is totally Andarist, though.

Dave Chappelle as Quick Ben. "I'm Quick Ben, bitch."

I think Saoirse Ronan would make a great Feather Witch.

Danny Huston is versatile (and has such an awesome face) that he could play a number of characters. From Trull to Coll. Probably would make a great Leoman, ethnicity aside. You could probably transplant the entire cast of The Proposition into the Malazan world with no problem, in fact.

And given her eyes, if you painted her jet black Amanda Seyfried would make a great young TA woman in Nimander's entourage.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Totally agree with Christopher Walken as Kallor. Spot on.
Not sure about SJP.... after all, the horse is a noble beast.

That sort of thing tends not to go down too well :smoke:

It's less to do with actual looks than the way they act and the... uh... chemistry (can you use that word non-romantically?) they have together, but I can see Stringer and Avon from The Wire playing a bloody great Quick Ben and Kalam. Thinking along those lines, I can see Michael Williams (Omar) pulling off a great Dassem.

I forgot! He's got that Bard-thing about him, doesn't he. And at the same time he's rather vicious.

Tom Hardy in Bane shape is not far off from what I think Caladan Brood looks like.
