According to CNN (the website, not the channel) she's back at work for mornings to hear oral arguments, but wasn't expected at the funeral. Appears she's still recovering so has lighter scheduled days outside of the necessary duties.

This might be interesting:

Zombie fiction have ruined funerals.

Back in the day, if the dead suddenly sat up right out of their casket, people would have declared it a miracle and thanked God. Today, if Bush Sr. a had sat up, we'd all thought the Zombie apocalypse had begun and somebody would had bashed his head in with a fire extinguisher.

Damn I haven't seen Colin Powell in years.

I'll never fathom why Americans pronounce Colin as Colon. Or Graham as Gram.

I still think the Space Force is a good idea.

Its an excellent idea but we shouldn't invest too many resources! We need a space station, a moon base and a dozen fighters tops. Stuff for the aliens too shoot in the first six seconds of the invasion to get them cocky. Thats when we unretire our best pilot and take our one shitty space plane out of mothball and strike at the mothership.

I was listening to a podcast about the USA China tariff situation and a peculiar thing occurred to me.

Trump treats policy and diplomacy the same way he thinks about financing - he borrows money/PR short term in the belief he can earn more money/PR long term. Or at least pay off the debt he already accrued IE his campaign promises.

He treats politics like debt.

He claims he's fixed the tariff situation and China will buy x amount of agricultural products, despite China having agreed to no such thing yet. He says that Mexico is going to pay for the wall but never talked to any Mexican official beforehand. He says he's made the Korean peninsula nuclear free but NK haven't even begun to dismantle their program, etc., etc.

He's celebrating future success betting that long term investment will pay off the PR he borrowed earlier.

It's apparently his nature and it's kinda sad in a nauseating kind of way.

Well, Trump has spent most of his life cheating, scamming and bullying his way around the highly dodgy world of real estate in places like New York City. So that is his modus operandi for everything that he does. He still does not seem to realise that you cannot survive long term with those kinds of tactics in a global public role like US presidency. Because, frankly, the guy is an utter idiot who has spent all his life in a sheltered environment with nodding and bowing lackeys around him and lots of lawyers to deflect or pay off the worst of the backlashes.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Damn, Jimmy Carter is looking pretty good. I had to google how old he is - 94. Didn't he also have a scare with brain cancer?

RBG is at the funeral. She doesn't look that good, damn. I hope she's is on the mend, but damn, she got that old person lean/slouch when they sit. Hopefully it's just ribs and not that slow tell tell sign of old age causing what life is left to slowly dissipate from the body,

One thing is for sure though, after watching some of the footage of the last few days, a movie called SullyThe Service Dog (or some such similar name) is in pre-production.

So, Mueller calling for leniency on Flynn means Flynn gave him a LOT (19 interviews!)

And I can't help but see that implicating not just Trump, but Pence in wrongdoings...and if both of them go....you'd be looking at Interim President Pelosi, wouldn't you?

Trump would lose his mind grapes.

I noticed that Roger Stone is pleading the fifth. You guys remember what Trump said about people who take the fifth?

I've noticed this as well. I occasionally hear about him flying to some country in the news but he either gets no coverage or he does absolutely fuck all.

Mueller's comments in the memo are basically a full on red flag warning to those who recently refused to help...like Manafort and Stone...that their hopes of pardon are not as good as they think they are, and that this is their chance to lighten their eventual sentence...Stone may take the bait, we'll see....not a week after saying he'd never turn on Trump, and now pleading the 5th....man...LOL

The whole "honour amongst thieves" thing they think is going to help them with Trump...won't. He would throw everyone under the bus if it helped him wriggle out...everyone but MAYBE Ivanka.

It is with great relief -- I mean regret -- that I tell the American people my beloved son Barron has, without my knowledge, masterminded several criminal conspiracies going back decades that culminated in collusion with Russia to become First Son of the United States. Sad!

Pence has much to lose by being seen doing anything. Not getting involved gives him deniability, stops Trump from getting jealous, keeps the base believing, maintains a shred of dignity and keeps him away from the nitty gritty of most of the stupid shit this administration does. Essentially, he makes sure he has a future in the GOP post-Trump.

If by "the bus" you mean "his naked body" then absolutely he'd throw Ivanka under the bus.

Yikes! For context, Mark Harris is the uncertified 'winner' of the NC 9th district race, and McCrae Dowless is the previously convicted conman (for insurance fraud, he took out a policy on a dead person and cashed it) that Harris hired to literally steal (as in physically, door to door) people's absentee ballots and do who knows what with them. Something he's done in at least one previous election too. Pretty sickening, but North Carolina's GOP is the vanguard of sickening.

Generally speaking I feel like the older politicians and government officials get, there should be exams to test whether they actually understand anything about the age they exist in.

The best thing about it is that Giuliani is Trump's cyber adviser.

We all know that the only cyper advice that Giuliani gives Trump is where to find porn with Ivanka look-alikes.

Sorry, not sorry.
