Did... did you just link a random article in the discussion forum, and not make any comment at all?

I'm going to have to assume it's a pro-Trump post.

They always are.
In other news, Obama suggested he could win a third term if he ran.
I don't disagree.

Despite being hampered every time by the Republicans, he's done some good stuff. And most other (European) countries like Obama, so yeah, if he could run, I could see him winning. I'd have no issues with that - as a European.
But if Trump - God forbid! - wins, the USA is going to be the laughing stock of the world. No one will take the USA seriously if he's helming the country. But I'm sure Trump's bid is just for publicity...right? RIGHT? XD

Oh no, not a trump supporter. Just enjoy that man's antics and hope he takes down the bloody republican party. I am so far a Bernie Sanders man myself.

0% chance.
His nomination would guarantee a Democratic victory.
Frankly, it'd probably guarantee a 3rd party nominee as most Republicans find him as repugnant as everyone else.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Obama said if stood for a third term, he would probably win . I think he is correct. But after FDR's epic stay I don't think the two-term rule will be revoked.

Be kind of hypocritical with all the African elections scandalized by presidents taking or considering a third term. I forget the country, but it was big news about a week ago.

It's definitely more 'illegal' than 'hypocritical' and Obama is pretty far from a tyrannical dictator unless you're watching the Fox entertainment channel.
It's also been a while since I saw someone innocuously link Obama and Africa, I should take a break from reading about US politics (it's less depressing than UK politics since it's more removed, and also it can be hilarious if you're not in that country)

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I have been thinking for months now that your level of engagement with our politics is somewhat unhealthy. Not that I begrudge you the right to care.

Yes, but Illy used to be funny. Now he's just cynical all the time (though of course, I don't go to the Inn, so what do I know). Anyway, sometimes he knows more about what's going on than I do, and that's just weird.

Uhhhhhh
The reason Obama said the third term thing during a speech in Africa was to point out that term limits on presidents was a good thing.

The problem with that is it's a pipe dream at any scale large enough to matter. Black conservatives already vote Republican, and 0.5 of the candidates offer anything to the rest. That 0.5 is Rand Paul, who attracts the selfish baby who isn't particularly socially conservative contingent of every population, ie the libertarians and low information voters. As @crushingbort aptly summed up the philosophy, "hmm well I'd say I'm fiscally conservative but socially very liberal. the problems are bad but their causes...their causes are very good". And Paul is right there with his brethren calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood, for instance. Conflating paying taxes w/ supporting the wars and some (not unwelcome) talk about civil rights may attract some young inexperienced voters, but it's not going to overwhelm the Republican primary. And neither Paul nor any other Rep candidate has any chance of breaking open the Democratic voting bloc.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

You need to diversify your reading if you honestly think that is a possibility.
