How would Biden deal with an uncooperative Congress to deal with climate change? He would "insist" on things.

Yeah, I cannot say I was particularly impressed. The reason I like Pete is he talks plain, straightforward, and thoughtful. He has plans and ideas. The other candidates relied mostly on anecdotal emotion stroking.

Okay done. Nobody stood out really. Well, Hickenlooper and Biden stood out for being so awful, but I wouldn't say anyone did tonight what Warren and Castro did last night. It did single out Bernie as the only true Medicare For All candidate tonight -- everyone else is pretending at best, or has repugnant ideas instead (ie anything less than M4A) -- same difference really. If you think health care is a human right -- which you should -- then it's a right, no ifs ands or buts. So put up or shut up. I would say Bernie's closing speech was by far the best, even if his Q&A moments were just par-for-the-course.
Regardless of all that, can we agree that 10-person debates w/ 60 second answers is a godawful format? And that Chuck Todd should be ground into chow meat for farm animals? How many questions did he ask that were like "What is the one first thing you would do if ________?" and "Name one ______." Next debate he's gonna ask what they did on their summer vacation.

I'm generally curious, how do most americans feel about the many democrats who try to answer questions in Spanish to 'pander' to the Hispanic vote. I'm not American but I don't like it. I googled it and it turns out America has no official language, has even resisted attempts to make English the official language and yet still I think we all understand the language of America is English? No one at the debate spoke Russian, Japanese or Mandarin. To what extent can Hispanic speakers get goveremnt forms in Spanish, and submit legal decouments in spanish? I think all my forms had to be in English as far as I remember and if I needed the services of a translator there were additional forms for me and the translator to fill in, which make clear that the answers are still to be yours alone, the translator must only record your answers etc
As a soon to be immigrant to the USA, I have looked at the citizenship test. Its a joke. 200 questions you can memorize ahead of time (I printed them from a government website!). I am in fact certain the tests real purpose is to weed out people who cant speak and read English fluently and nothing else.
I know immigration is a hot topic and the Hispanic population is huge and growing (majority by 2048) but I also think that their is an expectation (a reasonable one) for immigrants to adapt to their new host countries, such as learning the primary (only?) language.
I also imagine it went down like an anchor with any fence-sitting republicans.

This was also on Telemundo. There are Americans that don't speak English and Spanish is primary language.

Most likely not written by the host, and playing to the mass level of attention/engagement of most people who watch this to keep them from looking at their phones for 60 seconds.

My main take away from both nights is how ineffective the format is. Just way too many people on stage. I mean, I guess it is a good kickoff to introduce the candidates but it was pretty useless for anything else. I hope going forward, the next debates are paired down to no more then 6 people.
Also, on a lighter note, another take away from both nights is; I should have paid more attention in high school Spanish class.

The concept of politicians on both sides of the divide finding common ground and being able to work together towards a mutual understanding, despite the evidence immediately in front of you. The idea that you're such a quickwitted political player that you can effortlessly arrange compromises that both sides are content with, while not registering that the Republicans have gotten everything they wanted and the Democrats have nothing. It's like how this cartoon is almost exactly like what happened, except Obama didn't think twice and kept walking foward perfectly happily for the entirety of his first term:
Just imagine any speech from the show, and how long the speaker would last in the real world.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Pence has seemingly been SUMMONED back to the White House, cancelling ann event in New Hampshire. The WH is heading off things at the pass and implying that nothing is up with the POTUS....but the VP getting summoned is not "business as usual" either.
Could be nothing.
Could be nothing.

Interesting. A lot of so called Christians I know justified their support of Trump because he had a "true" Christian like Pence at his side. If they fire Pence will that change their minds about Trump?
Doubt it, but might be fun to watch.
My other thought is that if the WH is saying that there's nothing going on, there's definitely something going on.
