They've fucked with privacy settings for years now. Never letting the user know when the do either. It's all horse shit and a waste of time anyway. Don't let that gullible, sweet aunt of yours get bamboozled by this nonsense. That radical leaning uncle? Well don't allow Facebook to tacitly spread his view point because he is in your friends list. What about the newly come to voting age niece or nephew? Don't let them get pulled into this bullshit. I personally haven't had a Facebook now for a couple of years now. And you know what? I'm a hell of a lot happier and a better person for it. #DELETEFACEBOOK !

D/M/Y (The way god would have intended) or M/D/Y (like a savage)

EDIT- if Russia is found to have interfered with the election (though I think this is a given at this point at least to some degree), what does it mean that Trump will have been in office for over a year. Should new elections be held on priniciple? Should trump be eligibile. How do we know if they significantly changed the outcome or if the will of the people was trump regardless.

Seems to me that most of America is carrying on regardless but the implication is enormous.

Similarly for brexit allegations etc

The procedure in place state that the Vice President would take office, but since he's dirty too, the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, would be president.

Ryan would be less embarrassing, but a more viciously destructive president. We would see moves that pave thy way for the destruction of the federal government in my opinion, especially the eliminating of Social Security and Medicare and medicaid.

Well, at least we will finally get an answer to that fascinating philosophical question: “what would government run by Fox News look like?” Not sure what Trump’s criteria for hiring and sacking people are, but internal coherence does not seem to feature all that high. Divide and conquer, perhaps?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I can't put into words how proud I am of the kids at these marches today. I'm just awestruck by it.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

@ Vengy: After considering it and reviewing it I think your right on your tax argument. I don’t perfectly know how to resolve this with my personal ethos as it differs clearly, but as a nation mistakes were made. I might go a little bit more center in terms of raising them and establish a high rate of taxes at the state level then people here, but it’s preety daunting to consider the future implications of the mistakes made these last 15 or so years. I guess the core state isn’t always the problem..

Thanks for that info !!

NRA's softest, subtlest speakers out in full force earlier. No talking about AR-15s, deflecting. More "its a tragedy, wish it would stop! More guns in rooms might help!"

Ugh.

It’s strange to me HD you put a lot on the NRA , but like his chart really says how much influence they have..if the NRA has this much swing with this low of levels of money..

Is it a total logic fallacy to wonder about the more spendy lobbyists then?? Geez this gets you thinking

(Though I think we all kinda hate big pharma at this age.. I think )

The NRA's members vote. And they ALWAYS vote. They don't need to spend a ton of money. There is a reason they give out report cards on legislators, Nic. People will absolutely choose the more NRA aligned candidate in a primary, and that is where their power is. Dems mostly are a "shrug your shoulders" okay with either, but isn't the difference maker in primaries.

I remember that bit about NRA-members being motivated to vote from Last Week Tonight (Skip to around 7.40 for the part about voting)

What that graph shows is that there's a nearly 8:1 ratio in "gun rights" donations vs. "gun control" donations.

Watched the Stormy Daniels interview on 60 minutes. Not much revelatory really. The reoccurring theme of Trump having the hots for his daughter came up again (that sick fuck). She did reveal that a goon was sent to to her to threaten her. She doesn't come off like the ditsy porn star stereotype you might perceive she is. She actually came off pretty well spoken and intelligent, imo.

It's my impression that the professional pornstars who actually have name recognition, typically are pretty savvy. Sex sells and if you want to make it you have to have a mind for the business.

Can't blame her for milking this thing for everything it's worth.

Also can't wait to see how much material the late show hosts get out of the interview this week. Stephen Colbert's existence seems to be almost entirely hinging on Trump and the GOP by now.

Yeah, Trump has been a boon for Colbert, may have even saved his show. But also Samantha Bee, Seth Meyers, Kimmel, SNL and John Oliver.

Not so much Fallon and Conan, who are not as political.

I'm sure Trump will pardon them and then offer them free accomodation at the Mar a lago within 48 hours.

The biggest ick factor of the Stormy interview (and something we've heard before actually) is that after the sex he commented how he liked her, and she was like Ivanka...and I'm like "Am I the only one creeped out by the fact that after sex with a full-on pornstar his first thought is to compare her to his daughter?"

Jeezus.

I figured it wouldn't have much 'new' information for those of us who are too online, but I still think it was important to package up this info in a 60 Minutes segment for the large swath of people who aren't. Mostly, I'm glad it's not going away, and I repeat that I would like to see President Donald J. Trump have to go through a divorce while in office. Both for schadenfreude reasons and for what it might bring to light incidentally.

I didn’t say it did.

It was the one "deep thought" you had. And you wrote it here. So what does that mean then?

So, uh? Is this extremely dangerous to your democracy?
Screw you all, and have a nice day!
