Eh, it's pretty hard to emigrate. It's a long process. It'll take me a while even with a professional degree.

Not surprised. Canada is somewhat sane. Somewhat.

For Law you'd need to do equivalency exams, then the Bar and articling. Job market in our profession's not the greatest.

Although immigration law will get an uptick in the next couple of years.

From Trump refugees? Yeah, I'd imagine.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

LMAO, didn't even think of that. But yeah, makes sense, with the next war Trump'll get involved in "to make America great again"...

EDIT: and the Trump refugees...

Listening to CNN dissect this disaster talking about working class whites wanting change because Washington does not care about them.

If I wasnt so worried I'd be laughing at the notion that any of those people believe Trump will work for them more. They are about to get the biggest screwing over in history/
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Just got remembered that Trump also doesn't believe in Climate Change. Good bye Clima Agreement, good bye future and sorry future generations.

Congrats for Trump from Nigel Farrage and Geert Wilders

P.S. My best friend is an immigration attorney with a small practice and she's already getting panicked emails, advice from colleagues to stop submitting DACA applications (a huge proportion of her clientele), and dire tidings all around. So the US's immigration law community (and its clients) are already suffering -- like real world, life is worse/harder suffering.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

While that's a given, the real question ought to be, "why did all the "established" politicians ignore this inert mass of potential voters for so many years?"

I mean now that we've all accepted what happened, the world needs to figure out "why was there such a demand for Trump's rhetoric in the first place?" And what can other countries do to avoid the same shit happening there?

Edit: Keep in mind, Trump basically didn't use the republican's "official"campaigning methods- his sole biggest tools were the media (where any publicity = good publicity) and his rallies. His win is going to shatter a lot of conceptions about how elections ought to be done. There WILL be all kinds of "interesting" people who will try to replicate his "media only" strategy. And he's demonstrated that there's a sizeable portion of potential voters on whom this works and they are enough to make a difference.

There's a lot of fascinating repercussions that'll come of this.

My roommate (a longtime fan of Hillary who voted for her in 2008) just slammed her bedroom door and turned off the lights. I hope she's not mad at me for ranting on Facebook about people who voted for Hillary in the primary...

They did not ignore those voters. They had a big tug of war for them and the economy moved away from some of those areas. The amount politicians can and will do to help is massively overrated.

This is simply Trump winning the shouting match about who to be angry at. No one has answers for these people

The left is losing it shit huh? and tear itself down after this one.

They won't control the senate, house....or president correct? +1 judge vote. ....and they lost to a political outsider.

The interesting part voting a billionaire in as a outsider is ludicrous.

See underlined. I don't think that's true. No one has answers these people want to hear

The actual, sad answer, is that the system is designed to include losers. and these people are the losers of the system. Whose fault is it is a different question.

These people need to be spoken to in long, repetitive, often pointless conversations. They have to be made understand that they don't know why they are angry-by having them question their own reasoning . And one they understand it, they will realize that pointless anger allows other people to use them.

Otherwise you end up with growing numbers of people who feel the government is not providing them with any benefit. And that's the first step towards losing legitimacy.

I'm pretty sure he did not have SCOTUS in 2009, what with Scalia still kicking back then.
