Also as part of the settlement the IRS has agreed to end all Trump tax audits and that they will never investigate Trump, his family or his businesses again.

Now that is clearly illegal and will be challenged by everyone. It’s also just clearly and heinously corrupt. So much so that I can’t imagine such a deal has ever been reached before in the history of America.

We are sorry we gave you a speeding ticket in error, we will drop the murder investigation by way of apology.

I just can’t understand it. It’s clear as day what’s happening, who Trump is and republicans willfully run a blind eye.

This is the part that gets me...a whole ass country that RAILS and SCREAMS about being patriotic, and the constitution, and rule of law...and it's fucking crickets while this MFer not only robs you all blind, but does it in the full public eye IN PERPETUITY...

You all should be in the streets, and you should not LEAVE said streets until something is done.

The last ten years have shown me just how much of the USA's rhetoric about itself that most Americans parrot, is BS and posturing.

There is not currently a rule of law in the USA and hasn't been one for a long time...FFS they want to bring charges against Anthony Fauci AGAIN for looking after public health during COVID....but no one has been charged for the Epstein files yet...and when asked about it Trumps personal attorney / acting AG Todd said "who are we talking about? Cause Epsteins' dead."....

I simply do not understand how anyone who considers themselves a moral person can possibly support this any more.

At this point in time, if you're a republican voter in the United States? You are not a good person. You simply are not! You are actively enabling corruption and evil.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

But I think for a lot of them their morality includes the following sacred tenets:

1. Taxes are evil

2. Trump is Go*-Emperor

3. Government should reward their in-group, which they believe is Trump's in-group; and it should punish out-groups which they villify or which compete with them

... so to them this might all seem very moral.

Personally, I'm way past the point where I can accept that this is some "the-villain-always-thinks-he's-right" kind of thing. I definitely believe that these people know that what they are supporting is wrong, but they don't care because it hurts their perceived enemies.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

100%

There is no way you frame everything happening as acceptable unless you actively want minorities to be punished, the rich to get even more obscenely rich and poor people to die, ergo supporting this shit makes you actively complicit

Many of them do want minorities to be punished. That's part of their morality.

They believe the rich deserve to be rich. For many of them it's part of their religion: wealth is proof that Go* believes your virtuous. For others it's part of the secular religion of capitalism. Sames goes for poor people dying---especially of "natural causes" (AKA Go*, or weakness/"inferiority")... including dying from the long-term effects of pollution.

So many people have fallen for the propaganda hook line and sinker that it's your brown or gay neighbour that's making your life harder and if you keep voting in the people telling you that those people are the problem, then things will improve...and one day you'll be a millionaire too...SO many people.

I often wonder how much cognitive dissonance it requires to keep believing in and defending every single choice made by the people actively screwing them over...like MAGAts bend over backwards to defend every criminal act Trump and the GOP engage in and twist themselves into knots over it...all to avoid the simplicity of internally thinking "Shit, maybe I was wrong and this dude ISN'T Good for my well being in this country"...like the brain walls they have to set up to compartmentalize this shit, ignore it or defend it must be intense.

EDIT: It also shows the main difference between right wingers and the average leftist like myself. I voted for Trudeau the first time, the most left PM my country had seen in my lifetime....but in his first term he went back on two of the main campaign promises he made (no new pipeline, and election reform) and I decided that I would show my disappointment in the next election by voting for the NDP (further left) and I did so in the next two elections. I didn't vote Liberal again while he was in change of the party. No hand wringing, no trying to excuse his way around what he'd refused to do that he said he'd do, no fighting with people online about why I still supported him. He went against things I wanted, and I moved my vote. Like it's really easy. Moreover when the man himself showed up to my kids school in the city during Pride, I still shook his hand and thanked him for his service to the country. Because I'm not a crazy maple maga asshole who thinks he's the source of all my ills in life. Right wingers would rather defend their guy to the nth degree and ride with him into the dirt than maybe consider abandoning them and moving their vote. Conservatives are fragile.

I don’t like Tulsi but I saw she resigned today and I thought: ‘okay, after being sidelined and ignored she is taking some kind of principled stand’.

Nope. She says it’s because her husband has bone cancer. Now that could be the reason or it could be an excuse but it still shows no backbone.

Now that you're retiring you finally find a modicum of spine to disagree with Trump on his slush fund.

Fuck you McConnell you piece of shit

Well there you go. We did trade Taiwan for Iran. Delayed weapons sales.

Again, none of this is needed for China. They will patiently wait and an amenable govt will slot into place in Taiwan and there will be a big reunification. There is no real current upside for China invading Taiwan and Xi knows it. The global community is looking at China with less US propaganda eyes now, and their economic structure is the future, and they are now leading the world on growth in renewables and pushing for climate change emissions reductions...invading Taiwan achieves nothing that they won't get eventually anyways. And then they will have a piece of the "chip" pie that comes out of Taiwan and the USA (and the rest of the west) will be FURTHER into China's pocket economically.

The delayed weapons sales won't affect anything.

Trump is just hemorrhaging mooney at Iran for no gains, and Taiwan's delay is just a result of that. I don't think Xi talked Trump into that or anything.

I'm willing to be proven wrong, but I don't think China ever invades Taiwan.

Oh I don’t think China is going to invade Taiwan. At least anytime soon. This enables them to play the long game and wait for Taiwan to no longer have the resources to defend themselves or want to become part or China again or just be easily overwhelmed.

If I had to guess, random polling that happens outside of elections that determines this rating is capturing a better and broader sample of 350million Americans and not just the ones who vote so it's showing what an America that ALL voted would look like and he WOULD be poison....but since a fractional amount of that 350million people vote, they get whatever this nightmare is.

For what it's worth his tacit endorsement of Paxton in Texas gives Texas a WAY better shot at swinging purple than it's apparently had in a long time...for as much as John Cornyn is your prototypical Republican shitstain, Paxton is DEEPLY MAGA and has a massive load of baggage (criminal and otherwise) to overcome...so Tallarico has a way better shot now...and it's clearly ruffled the White House feathers too as Stephen Miller not only went after Tallarcio on twitter (calling him Trans), but then when he was mouth-slapped by the official Democrat twitter account in reply calling him an "ugly fuck" and telling him to "shut up", his equally evil wife Katie Miller then doxxed the Democrat twitter account rep who posted it....and then called her an "unmarried 30 year old" as a slight...which also then backfired as the individual posted photos of the wedding dress she's choosing for her forthcoming wedding to her fiancée.

These people are so unserious. I swear to god.

Are his ratings also the lowest ever in the voting districts where the primaries in question took place?

(And even if they are, are they lower there than those of other Republicans?)
