Someone took a run at Trump during the correspondents dinner last night.

Considering how good Americans are at shooting each other they seem to be very bad at hitting. a slow, old fat man who is usually on a raised podium with plenty of light on him.

He then did a press conference and said that this is why he needs the ballroom (this is shortly after a court said he couldn't have the ballroom)

It's all so weird and tiring.

Or a nice big Library like most Presidents do apparently. But call it the Trump Book Depository.

I dont want him to die in office.
I want him ousted and publicly shamed for everything he has do e.

If he dies in office the right will lionise him like Kirk, only far far far worse

Oh, another clearly fake 'assassination attempt' when his popularity is guttering out. How very predictable.

Please, at best it's gonna be a Blockbuster without the "Be kind, rewind" policy!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

They'd lionize him like Jesus.

And Elvis...

And Husayn ibn Ali.

Quote

He is thus remembered as the prince of martyrs (Sayyed al-Shuhada).

The historian G. R. Hawting describes the Battle of Karbala [in which Husayn died] as a "supreme" example of "suffering and martyrdom" for Shi'as. According to Abdulaziz Sachedina, it is seen by Shi'as the climax of suffering and oppression, revenge for which came to be one of the primary goals of many Shi'a uprisings. This revenge is believed to be one of the fundamental objectives of the future revolution [...]

https://en.wikipedia...n_Ali#Aftermath

The first political use of the death of Husayn seems to have been during the revolt of Mukhtar, when he seized Kufa under the slogan of "Revenge for Husayn".[177][178] Although the Penitents had used the same slogan, they do not seem to have had a political program.[177] In order to enhance their legitimacy, Abbasid rulers claimed to have avenged the death of Husayn by dethroning the Umayyads. [...] Riza Yildirim has claimed that the impetus of the Safvid revolution was the revenge of the death of Husayn. [...]

https://en.wikipedia...bn_Ali#Politics

In contrast to the traditional view of Shi'ism as a religion of suffering, mourning and political quietism, Shi'a Islam and [Husayn's death at the battle of] Karbala were given a new interpretation in the period preceding the revolution by rationalist intellectuals and religious revisionists [...] According to these, Shi'ism was an ideology of revolution and political struggle against tyranny and exploitation,[190] and the Battle of Karbala and the death of Husayn was to be seen as a model for revolutionary struggle;[191] weeping and mourning was to be replaced by political activism to realise the ideals of Husayn. [...] Condemning the Iranian monarchy, Khomeini wrote: "The struggle of al-Husayn at Karbalâ is interpreted in the same way as a struggle against the non-Islamic principle of monarchy."

There's only one middle easterner Trump can be compared to and that is Ea-Nasir.

moments before the chaos, the White House press secretary told reporters [...] "There will be some shots fired tonight."

Probably just a coincidence... wonder how frequently she says that sort of thing.

The simpler explanation is incompetence:

Quote

I Slept Next Door to the Assassin in Hilton Room 10235. This Is a Security Fiasco

[...] How on earth could someone with a disassembled long gun check into a room at a hotel where the president was going to speak? I can answer that: Nobody even looked at my luggage [...] No magnometers, no hand checks, no I.D. checks. Nothing.

How on earth could that person get downstairs and assemble a long gun? I can answer that too. I moved up and down from Floor 10 all day. Nobody ever stopped me and asked me anything. [...] I have never been searched or frisked when I checked in, or moved in and out of the hotel. To get down from my room to the dinner, I simply flashed my ticket. It could have been a photocopy.

The only time I went past a checkpoint was at the same magnetometers that Cole Allen, 31, sprinted past with his gun.

You must have misssed the announcements.

The Trump presidential library is in full swing. Florida state donated some of the nicest land for it. They took it from the state university. Donors are lining up to donate. The Trump presidential library will be a beautiful skyscraper. Sorry did I say library, I meant hotel. Trump wants his library to be a hotel. Because it doesn’t represent his history as a grifter if it’s not a grift

A skyscraper in the swamp?

Or swamp-skyscraper hybrid...

Gilded swamp.

Anyway, the ballroom is largely a distraction from the presidential bunker underneath that's being renovated and fortified.

Perhaps for when Trump decides he's not leaving office, and threatens to nuke the United States from said bunker... to rule over the radioactive ashes, perhaps by remote controlling drones to hunt down the remaining irradiated mutating anti-MAGA survivors.
