They're not tho, bcs HP continues to make her big white sticky globs of money and give her the influence and attention to further her hate.

I get all the 'separate the artist from the art' arguments and that's fine when the artist has died (Eddings) or mostly STFU (Card) but here the artist is still alive and actively using the money from the art for evil, and thinking adults continue to pay her for their childhood escapism.

This is it. I'm doing my best to not show my kids more HP content than they've already seen...because I'm hoping they don't glom onto it as I simply don't want to fund JKR's war on Trans people.

I’m slightly uncomfortable with this story, he is not a politician. He married one, and he supported one who is human trash but Kristi Noem is the problem. She is also out. This story tarnishes her by proximity but she is already out. This story came too late, is focused on the wrong half of the marriage and the timing is even suspect. Who delivered this story and why.

A husband of a famous politician can’t be suprised if he gets public attention but this is digging deeper than the surface. Yes maybe another republican doingin private what they criticize in public is news and the hypocrisy is real but this story is more about laughing at him and to a lesser extent Kristi Noem. Torture Barbie deserves what she gets but this story and the way the media smirks about it is also gross.

————————————

I don’t know why but JKR is a non entity for me. I never see her teeets, posts comments or whatever else. I know of the controversy and forget when I was first told about it. Harry Potter remains as it always was for me, divorced from a women who I don’t know and don’t really care about. I agree it’s a shame to finance people who spread hate and entry not too but I for me the real take away is that the opinions of famous people are not worth anymore than any random passer by on the street. Sadly that horse bolted from the barn a long time ago.

Some famous people are clearly erudite and intellectual and can speak with great insight into many topics but I have never felt JKR iso one of them. If she wants to tell me about how wizards in Africa go to school I’ll trust her answer but otherwise she just lands with a dull thud.

————————-

As I wrote this I got an alert that Pam Bondinis fired. When will they learn that loyalty and sycophantsy won’t protect them. Good for her finally. Alas the replacement will be as bad or worse.

The flood gates have opened though. Goodbye Kristi, goodbye Pam. Pete I am waiting for you next. The choas only gets worse from here. Trumps approval nose dive will continue. Will anyone important find a spine before it’s too late. Precedent says no.

As an aside, one of my pet hates is when people conflate - either deliberately, knowing it's bullshit (those at the top), or out of sheer wilful ignorance (their supporters) - communism or socialism with totalitarianism or authoritarianism.

Two are economic systems and two are governmental systems. You might argue that communism is also a governmental system, except it's more accurately described as governmental control of the means of production. The government (ostensibly) being "the people". Funny thing being, every government in history that was described as being "communist" (self described as socialist) was such in name only, and in reality was simply another feudal style hierarchy, after replacing the previous one with an even worse one. Kleptocracy is another far better description, along with oligarchy or plutocracy later on.

It's not like there was ever a golden age of honesty, but I feel like some of those words used to actually mean things beyond 'people I don't like.' But a lot of it is now just namecalling.

We also get all the people in extremely safe Western nations insisting they live in a fascist dictatorship.

Is she getting Noem'ed? Or is that bit about "private enterprise" or whatever it was meaning total excommunication from the Orange Presence?

Like one of the the Jewish ideas of Hell ie being unable to be in the presence of God.
*Googles* Is that "Sheol", or something called "Karet"?

She was chucked out like hot garbage. She is moving to an important private sector job that will be announced soon ie. when she finally finds one.

More concerning is that the chief of the Army was fired as well. They didn't even wait for easter weekend to try and bury it. Iran isnt even a ground war so what was the Head of the army saying that Hegseth felt he needed to be fired.

I worry america is going to start having whiplash as the presidency changes hands and we try to reverse every decision the last president made. The list of things that Trump has done that will need to be reversed in 1 year alone just keeps growing.

Cause, that's the plan. Their entire plan. All of this is by design.

Of course, that doesn't make her a "man", but it may give her a biological advantage.

Granted, this is getting off-topic, and I think I vaguely remember her saying more obviously transphobic things, but I don't think she's at the same level of duplicity as Trump or the same level of ignorance as most of MAGA. ... which isn't saying much.

This is getting very off-topic, so I'll post any future replies in the old Is JK Rowling Satan, Or Just a Demon? Hogwarts Legacy thread where we were discussing Rowling's transphobia before:

https://forum.malaza...cy-controversy/

In terms of testosterone levels, Khelif went through the hormonal equivalent of male puberty and had male levels of testosterone through much of her adult life, including years of weightlifting and other physical training as an elite athlete. If Khelif were not taking testosterone suppressants then she would most likely have an advantage comparable to that of male elite athletes.

The main argument for Khelif not having an advantage seems to rest on studies which found no statistically significant difference in functional strength between trans women and ciswomen. One problem with those studies is that they're very low quality, with extremely small sample sizes and non-rigorous methodologies. In particular, while it is possible to measure voluntary exertion, they fail to do so; and yet they rely on voluntary exertion in their tests of functional strength. The trans test subjects also almost certainly realized that the test results would be used as evidence to determine whether trans women should be allowed to compete in women's sports.

https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/60/3/198

And more rigorous studies indicate that testosterone suppression only results in a small reduction in lean muscle mass after one year (about 5%). Large, rigorous studies have demonstrated that lean muscle mass correlates with functional strength. Taken together, this stronger evidence seems to contradict the extremely low quality studies which found no statistically significant difference in functional strength.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC7846503/

However, there is also low quality evidence suggesting that after several years the percentage of lean muscle mass relative to total weight has no statistically significant difference from that of ciswomen. (The phrase "statistically significant" can be misleading in this context: the experimental design is not strong enough to rule out large statistical differences.) This can be reconciled with a small decrease in absolute lean muscle mass by an increase in fat. And since boxing has weight classes, this does provide weak evidence for Khelif not having an advantage. However, none of these studies were done on elite athletes, who tend to work to have extremely low levels of body fat, particularly in sports with weight classes.

So the evidence ultimately isn't definitive, but it's plausible that she has a significant advantage. I stand by my initial assertion that she may have a biological advantage.

According to Pete Kegsbreath "lethality" must mean "cupping my balls gently while I apply my tongue to Donnie's ring".
How long before the military has MAGA commissars? I think they should have cool black uniforms. With long black trenchcoats and a black cross on white background in a red circle on an armband.

The fact that America is currently in the middle of a messy war with Iran has not stopped Donald Trump from ramping up his purge of military leaders.
