That's sick looking. Netflix/HBO/Amazon should give these people a lot of money and make this in to a series. Not full on 45-60 minute episodes. Just 5-15 minute moments of endorphin injections.

Right?! I recall that flick, and how disappointed I was with how it looked. Like early 90's CGI level bad.

This looks insane next to that.

Whoa...new covers for PARIAH and the newly released (March 2nd I think?) PENITENT in the Bequin series, with PANDAEMONIUM at some point later. I've only read the Eisenhorns and not the Ravenor omni yet, but I can't help but want to get these both in hardback.

These are gorgeous. Clean WH40k Inquisition imagery. Spoilered for size.

I apologize for my posts affecting your read.

I thought a certain plot point was universal knowledge because it's mentioned in the foreword to just about every WH40k book or game.

I will spoiler up future talks about that.

No worries guys. I suspect I know what's going to happen. I've seen throwaway references on plenty of forums (and my response has typically been to stick my fingers virtually in my ears :) ). That said, the HH series itself has been pretty good about not revealing the outcome, especially if it's mentioned prominently in all the 40K stuff.

I'm not sure about the Primarchs novels. I have read one dealing with Angron (Slave of Nuceria, I think it was called?) but nothing else. Is this new material? There's also a numbered book (novella compilation) called The Primarchs (#19 or #20 or somewhere thereabouts in the HH series) that I have read.

The Primarchs numbered one is an anthology in the main series. The Primarchs series gives us a story on each of the Primarchs. Some are better than others and the time line is all over. The Leman Russ book takes place during the Crusade but the framing device is set after the Heresy. The Curze novel is after the Heresy with flashbacks during his life.

Then there is Valdor which is at the end of the Unification wars, really interesting.

Finished Honour Guard. I liked it a lot, however I do wish there was a bit more of a plot and more world-building. Not that I'm bailing on the series, I will see it to completion.

Gaunt 4 ch 10 pg 151 Omni
Spoiler

I could be wrong and misremembering, but if this is the story I think it is, this MAYBE has the BEST finale of a large swath of the Gaunt books for me. Push through, yes the early tank battle stuff is boring, but the "Surrounded by Chaos" plot is pretty awesome.

You also get to meet a LOT of new and cool characters like Victor Hark, Ayatani Zweil...and you get to learn a lot about the Beati and why the Sabbat Crusade is so important as this is the start of the Saint arc.

Bhavinager is merely the opening salvo, get past that section and it gets better.

Plus, Gaunt dealing with his internal demons is a big deal moving forward.

Ah Honor Guard, yes it introduces quite a few cool characters and one I utterly loathe. It also shows the tension in the regiment as the Verghast troops feel Gaunt favors the Tanith more (which he does but not out of any malicious intent) and I like that it's not solved during the novel. Also the enemies get more interesting from here on, more dangerous and two of the future books even give us a good look at their culture and personal dynamics.

A thing to remember when a new Imperial tank is mentioned is that most of the them are just a Leman Russ with a different main gun. Heck even the super heavy tanks share the same basic hull. If nothing else, this makes maintenance easier which is important - especially for an Imperium that has armies spread everywhere and limited technical knowledge, depending on the priests from their joined at the hip with some autonomy sister empire of technophiliacs.

Just googled Leman Russ. Man, Primarchs are fucking cool. I need to get the Ghost's done so I can read some Heresy.

Read the Inquisition books after Gaunts before you go Heresy. A lot of what happens in Heresy leads to things like the Inquisition and other facets of the WH40k world...I felt they read better after having a dive through Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and unfinished as yet Bequin. But YMMV.

I'm in a reading hot streak right now, don't know how long it will last after work reopens, so I think I have to jump to my dessert immediately.

Also, are you almost done Gaunt? It's like 14 books long.
