Hmm. Is there a reason why there's a prologue called Straight Silver in Guns of Tanith, when book 6 is called straight silver? Intentional or an editting issue with the Omnibus?

Well straight silver does refer to the long knife they use when anyone yells to fix bayonets. So it was probably just that it sounded good to Abnett and he forgot he also used it in that prologue. Idk, I'm guessing here.

And I really hope you ain’t clicking my tags on bk 5!

Your page numbers seem to be off from my omnibus. Probably because I'm reading a digital version and you're reading physical? Any way I won't be clicking your boxes till I'm done for fear of jumping ahead accidentally.

Give me some perspective here Apt. my bk 5 prologue begins on pg 245 of physical. Yours?

Book 5 starts on 307. Prologue starts on p. 312.

My favorite in the Saint arc is the next one, Sabbat Martyr, so I'm excited you're getting close to it. And all the stuff that comes after that, the awesome just keeps pilling up as far as I'm concerned. And that twist in Anarch. Just ..... *bites fingers not to type*

About a hundred pages into Guns of Tanith.

Is it me or does one or two people called MkSomething die every book only to pop up next book or maybe somebody who's name is very similar?

You'd really think radio technology would improve more over the course of 40.000 years.

Nah radio tech is always crap :p

Also this is the Guard, they get mass produced cheap shit. The Astartes and the Mechanicus (especially the Mechanicus, because they hoard it like a dragon hoards gold) have the good tech.

This far in, do you care about the characters? Is Abnett doing a good job keeping you invested?

I'm a book past where BK is, and I'd heartily say yes.

I've also given up on the other book I was supposed to be reading. When you're bored at 10%, it's not a good sign. That's ok though, now I'm reading the book I actually want to be reading. Onward to *Sabbat Martyr*!

Okay that ending of Guns of Tanith. What the fuck? What. The. Fuck. I don't think I've been this upset since the ending of Reaper's Gale.

Can't manage on phone, will post tomorrow when at a pc but I got an answer for why Gaunt wasn't promoted after Vervunhive. From the collector edition of Sabbat World's Crusade that tells the story of the entire Crusade as an in universe history book.

Well, in book 5 he outright refuses a promotion, so the simplest explanation seems to be Gaunt wants to be on the frontline during the retaking
of the Sabbath Worlds
